Armando Salguero @ArmandoSalguero The Dolphins have worked out Braulon Edwards as Hard Knocks reported. He's healthy and a SERIOUS option to be signed. WOW!!!!! Discuss!
If we had more nationally televised games I would be all for signing Edwards. Always seemed like that was the only time he cared enough to play decent. Id rather bail David Boston out of jail and put him in rehab before signing this waste.
Dude can play. He was injured last year. Niners didn't need him with that group and Randy Moss. The Hard Knocks producer told Sirius today. Nobody knew otherwise. - sent from my Android using Tapatalk 2 -
go get Mike Wallace and be done with it. I am actually excited for Roberto Wallace to get a shot. If he is putting it together he can be an intriguing option that wouyld make us look good in the nat'l scene. A player not highly touted found and developed. If Gates is doing well like Omar says between he, Chad J, Davone and Wallace plus Hartline I think we will be fine. Clay and Fasano will be weapons as well
Yep, to me Butter and Plax are the two best FA options at Wr, they have to kick the tires with them b/c the rooks and longshots will have a very small window to impress before we have to bring in a Vet Wr who can produce who won't cost us an arm and a leg in a trade. I don't value draft picks as highly as some, but let's be honest here, Ireland wastes a ton of them to trade some cuts down our odds of landing some roster upgrades that are cap friendly.
Really really interesting timing... Dolphins rumored to be interested in trading for Wallace. Steelers' GM says Mike Wallace isn't available for trade. Dolphins announce thru media source that they have worked out Braylon Edwards. All within 24 hours...
To be fair, it was the Hard Knocks producer who shared it with Sirius NFL guys this morning. Then Philbin confirmed. If a beat guy had it, I'd be there with ya. But that source ain't gonna carry that kind of water for Miami IMO. - sent from my Android using Tapatalk 2 -
This morning, Omar said he thinks Jeff Fuller makes the 53. He saliently reminds folks not to make judgements in these little windows. But his tweets seem to suggest some of these young pups are biting in his view. I haven't seen much on Gates other than he can still run by guys. Would like it if a few of the beat guys would rank their Top 6 or 7 to this point. - sent from my Android using Tapatalk 2 -
I guess the yet to be resolved question is When? When did he workout and if it was before the start of TC (like Steinbach), why are we just now hearing about it?
Philbin said it was Tuesday or Wednesday. They work out guys every week. Standard ops. I know Braylon also worked out for Seattle this week. I'm one that thinks a healthy Braylon makes this group better. But like Chad Johnson, I also don't see him as a long term guy right now. So I'd be surprised if he was signed in the immediate future. Save for an injury, you're sacrificing at least one young player. I think the Dolphins want to see more from these kids before making a decision like that. - sent from my Android using Tapatalk 2 -
For me, I love this "Hard Knocks Effect" aspect of this, in prior times we would not have heard a thing about such a SOP action, now we hear it in the same week that it happens. Under the Sparanoid approach, we would not have heard a thing which used to drive me crazy with frustration, we worked out Butter Edwards..so what?
No doubt Hard Knocks has footage of the workout too, and likely interviewed Edwards. That's going to be one of the really cool parts of this once it gets rolling. We'd likely be seeing clips of that workout a few days later. - sent from my Android using Tapatalk 2 -
And only two short years ago a duo of Chad Johnson and Braylon Edwards would've been considered quite formidable.
You're the only one I've ever heard call him Butter. What led you to come up with what you apparently perceive to be a cute, clever, or quaint nickname?
Yeah well. Only two short years ago, many in here thought that Chad Henne was going to be our QB of the future. Amazing what perspective that time brings lol
Yes.I think this may be an indication of concern over Hartlines injury and disappointment in the development of young receivers including Gates . Fuller may be the only keeper among this years draftees and pickups besides 85 and perhaps Nanee
Not to mention, he still hasn't signed with a team. He's dun!...actually, he was never that great to begin with.
Agree. Only one good season, all be it a damn good season. But he is the definition of "progress stopper" regarding our young WRs . I know we need a red zone threat but to me that is ALL he would bring.
I'd also like to point out players don't seem to be avoiding us like the plague anymore. I'm sure Hard Knocks plays a part.
Probably because when he goes to catch a ball he makes it look like he dipped his hands in a vat of butter
Nah me and my boys call him "Butta Braylon" also lol because he dropped so many passes in I think the '08 season.
