I think Vontae knew he was embarrassing himself while it was happening, hence his on camera discussion.
Anyone know how long it should realistically take someone of his ability to get in proper, up-tempo shape?

Wow on Aponte. What a introduction for her in the show. Ireland looked half-way decent and like a general manager.

Boring maybe, but not a weird guy at all. Just a thinker and quiet at times. He appears to have a high football IQ, which is what you want in a head coach. Weird? I would just say more likely smart and efficient with what he needs to communicate. You campare him with Jimmy Johnson or Bill Parcells and yeah, he is quiet. Creepy is an unfair description in my view.

 

San Andreas would have been fine had it been any one else starring. I don't see your point.

This! Being an informed fan base, and you know why Irish said "he wants what's right." Dawn looked BAAAAAD. And I'm glad. RT, bless the kid, he wanted to be here so bad. Im just glad they got it done, DESPITE APONTE. Totally in the wrong and could have costed us big time for language that was waaay out of line. And I've been his biggest critic, but Irish came out alright on this one.

 

Philbin's practices are unlike anything I have ever seen. Love what I saw out of CJ. Have to admit I like Les Brown's heart, hate his blocking.

 

You could tell Philbin was really impressed with Tannehill in his first practice with the team, he said it, and he didn't shy away,until he got in front of the media later,and curbed it a bit..lol, it's ok coach, that first practice was the sh@&.

 

You say that now, but you'll change your minds once he has a "Let's get a goddamned SNACK!" moment.

 

First time watching the Show and my impression was "Meh". Started pretty slow maybe because I have little interest in Players' wives and kids. Marginally more interested in the dogs.

Had some funny moments later.

Liked Philbin, best part was him and Chad talking about repping the organization. Would have really liked him if he had told Dawn Aponte "Surely you can't be serious" when she was talking about letting Ryan go back into the draft.

Is the QB coach younger than Garrard?

Biggest groaner was the install of the "Champions play here" signs.

I like lots of people even when they screw up here and there. The press conference was a screw up. Overall, CJ is the man.

 

Philbin wasn't looking at the ground. He was alternating between looking at the practice session in front of him—which is his job—and looking at Johnson during their conversation.

 

What did he say early on about a "cigarette"? {didn't hear him completely}

 

After his conditioning test, he said he wanted an ice bath and a cigarette and he'd be fine.

 

You're over analyzing. There was nothing anywhere during the off season or that show, that indicates Philbin is unsure, weak, not in charge or anything else someone may think that scene showed or implied. The part your focusing on may not only be incorrect like Desides said, but is entirely not relevant to anything.

 

Between GArret Reid dying and the Philbin tie in, and the pre-season game, this week will be amazing. I dont know how they edit and put this program together so quickly and efficiently. Major Major respect to the NFL Films Crew.

 

Thought they undersold Garrard. Someone who didn't know a thing about the Dolphins would watch that and then be totally shocked when Philbin stepped into the QB room and named Garrard #1 on the depth chart. Hard Knocks made it seem like Moore was a shoe-in.
