Everyone wins on the trade except Orlando that got raped.

    - lose Dwight
    - added salary
    - got unprotected lottery picks from teams that have zero chance at being in the lottery

Hopefully Dan Gilbert steps in and does this thing. Get the trade vetoed and bail out lolrlando

Btw, Dwight already said he would sign in LA. It's a done deal. LA wouldn't be dumb and trade for him without that guarantee anyways. OKC still getting out of the West

    Link? I've read otherwise.

    http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/8...-los-angeles-lakers-four-team-deal-very-close

One source briefed on Howard's plans told Stein the All-Star center will indeed stand firm on his intent to play out the 2012-13 season without extending his contract so he can become a free agent on July 1, 2013. Going that route will enable Howard to decide how comfortable he is in Los Angeles before deciding whether to re-sign with the Lakers or join the Dallas Mavericks, who will have the requisite salary-cap space to sign Howard and remain one of his preferred destinations from his original list of three teams (Brooklyn Nets, Lakers and Mavericks).

I don't really care what you feel, though. As of now, it's being reported he won't resign immediately.

I never said he would immediately and to be honest it doesn't matter. All I'm saying is he will re-sign in LA

Kobe can't win a ring without Derek Fisher anyways. Don't worry non-Laker fans.

I should have been more specific and said if Brooklyn can get it done, he leaves for them. If not, he stays in LA.

And unless Nash bails him out he is going to continue hogging, chucking, and choking in big situations.

Ah. Well. I don't see any way they can get it done. Nobody is taking on Joe Johnson or Lopez's contract without the Nets taking back another bad contract in return.

Man I wish Orlando took that deal Houston offered earlier. We would have sucked regardless, but we would have young talent.

This. The Houston deal was the deal to make. If you couldn't get that then you wait til the trade deadline if you have to to get better than this. This is pathetic. Even video games reject this trade lol

Naa, I would rather do this deal than wait till the dead line. Waiting until the dead line doesn't accomplish anything.

Well they had to get Dwight so they could implement the new improved game plan.

Phase A) Nash dribbles the ball up court and passes to Kobe.

Phase B) Kobe chucks up a 20+ foot jumper that clanks off the rim

Phase C) Dwight rebounds and kicks it out to Nash, who starts over from Phase A.

    76ers made out like bandits.

Losing Iggy hurts, but they remade the team into what begins to look like at least the 3rd or 4th best team in the east.

Denver getting Iggy is a nice component as well.

Lakers are in the same exact boat/slightly improved defensively.

    Orlando got trade raped.

Lakeshow goes into win now mode unless they can resign Howard they will be in a bad way.

As for the Magic, imo this goes to show how the NBA works, even with a salary cap, back to the drawing board for them.

It also must mean a franchise center will be entering the draft in the next two yrs.

They've been in "win now" mode ever since Kobe demanded a trade. And the Steve Nash trade is far more of a "win now" move than the Howard trade.

Spoiler alert: they aren't going to win.

This is a very good trade for LA. They rid themselves of the player who never seemed to take the next step and they add the 2nd best defensive player in the NBA and pair him with defensive minded Mike Brown.

For a team that was "close" to OKC as it is, adding Nash and Howard pull them in the driver seat as the team to come out of the West and face NY in the finals.

I hope he wasn't making a joke with TC. Even LBJ is debatable.

NOBODY effects a game defensively like D12 does.

because they traded the best offensive center in the game for the best defensive center in the game.

So I'll take D over O for a "slight" improvement.
