You're not doing very well with facts either. Marshall wasn't cut. Forgetting about that, what makes you think Chad was the best wr? Was it his zero catches for no yards? Sent from my SGH-T959V using Tapatalk 2
I dont understand when people say a player is a distraction. He was a character and from all accounts, a good teammate. These guys are professionals, if a bigmouth jokester, who isnt being malicious to anyone distracts them then they've got issues. This team has no weapons and when they did, they got rid of them. Get ready to watch the most boring offense in the NFL, again.
Yeah, I know Marshall wasn't cut. No, I wont look at one dropped pass and judge CJ. How about is several 1,000 yd seasons and pro bowl appearances? And if you're saying he wasnt the best receiver we had, then you're lying to yourself.
So the outbursts in team meetings that led ricky to suggest that he get psychological help not a distraction then? Sent from my SGH-T959V using Tapatalk 2
You really think that professionals are that easily distracted? How come Karlos Dansby didnt say it was a distraction, but did say he didn't agree with CJ being released?
What did he do last year? Look, he seemed to have the inside tract on a starting position, but he wasn't the chad johnson of old. Don't kid yourself. (see what I did there?) Sent from my SGH-T959V using Tapatalk 2
everybody just chill. Okay? This is a TV show. they almost always end with a happy ending. Lets let the next 3 episodes play out. I bet by the end we'll be astonished and flabbergasted by how awesome all the characters have become. This would be like judging LOST by its first episode where the plane crashed and some dudes got eaten by black smoke and everyone thought they were all gonna die. Well, they didn't... kinda. Point is, everything will be OKAY! Have faith in coach philbin, he has a fantastic head on his shoulders and what looks like a great staff. They will find the best personnel for our team
On finsiders they were asking one of the DB's a week or longer ago about which young WR impressed them and the DB answered number 81 , he didn't know his name. Trying to recall which DB it was .
I know he's not the Chad Johnson of old, but he was easily our best receiver. No team fears our receivers. They are gonna play man to man and put extra guys uo front to stop the run. Why cant you see or admit he was our best receicer and that we have no playmakers at receiver now?
Yes, I think having a coworker that needs psychological help would be distracting, and I do get paid for my work as well. Why does it matter what Dansby says? The front office obviously disagreed, as did denver's for that matter. Why is Dansby more qualified? Was he even asked if marshall was a distraction? Do you think ricky told him to get help because ricky wasn't thinking about Brandon's outbursts? Sent from my SGH-T959V using Tapatalk 2
How can having our own opinion be lying to ourselves? It's not like saying Andre Roberts is better than Larry Fitzgerald or Titus Young is better than Calvin Johnson. IMO, Bess is our best WR right now and was even before Chad was cut. That's not an outlandish thing to say at all.
A. We traded an expensive Marshall for 2 3rd rounders. Big difference. B. This isn't prison; the team doesn't have to accept all walks of life. Philbin has a way he wants things run, no ifs ands or buts about it, period, and the last I checked he came from a winning, top notch organization that recently won a SB..... so excuse me if I lay more faith in his ability to construct a winning organization than a disorganized, chaotic, NY Jests types that you seem to favor where players can run the team and do whatever the heck they want w/o fear of consequences. Winning organizations are typically cohesive organizations, and it's difficult to build cohesion if influential players like Marshall & Johnson are disrupting that cohesion. Chad knew what Philbin wanted from him when he was signed, and he knew the direction Philbin wanted the team to go when he was signed (Chad mentioned as much on Hard Knocks); Chad chose to ignore it; Chad suffered the consequences. There is no order in chaos, and a successful running organization needs order, period. IDK, perhaps you don't pay enough attention to the Jets b/c that's the path we could've be headed if Philbin ignored a chance to maintain proper order. What message does it send the team when Philbin expresses what's expected of them but turns soft and allows Chad Johnson to be an exception? Who's gonna respect him fully and give 100% to his beliefs and philosophy if his actions make it seem as though he, himself, doesn't buy into them?
Here's a curveball. I'm kinda digging the KICKER'S wife. She seems like a very down to earth gal, pretty, loves to cook, grew up with a big family... and how effing cool is any chick that has this website AND the following facebook coverpage photo of herself: HER WEBSITE http://www.cookinandkickin.com/p/home.html HER FACEBOOK COVER
have you heard of the "no name defense"? years from now people will be talking about the "no name receivers". they will shock the world. All a team needs is a great leader and i believe we have that now.
It's not a group of grown adults as you try to allude; it's not "Happy hour after work with the guys". It's a job for a high profile, billion dollar organization that's open to the public eye. Would you be willing to put your money where your mouth is and try to reproduce ALL of Johnson's recent efforts at your own job [if you're employed]? **By "efforts" I mean walk into a private manager's meeting and turn it into a spectacle, drop F bombs left & right at work or in a work-related situation for your boss to hear, make drug & porn references for your boss to hear, get arrested for head-butting a woman and make sure your boss knows about it, not perform your job's main requirement, and then send a confrontational letter to the president of your company. You don't have a problem doing that, right? Let us know how it goes.
Wow man Miami has some really good looking wives. Please no reality tv show. Really good episode tonight.
When you hear reporters speculate based on what happened on Hard Knocks that certain things indicate that Philbin never wanted Chad Johnson...well, that's pretty damn close to the mark. I say no more.
The posts I enjoy and learn from the most always come from rookies. (I'm impressed you took Philbins advice and only dropped the F-bomb once, for greater impact)
Cmon man. 2 of Johnson's last 4 years were 540 yards & 276 yards, 5 total TDs. It's been 3 years since he's had a 1000 yard season. He's more than halfway to 35. Cookie Monster has as much chance of becoming a 1000 yard receiver at this point. If you average CJ's last 4 years, you get 674 yards, 4 TDs, and 38 first downs per season. Please stop acting like it's #1 receiver material. During the same 4 years, Bess averaged 667 yards, 3 TDs, and 36 first downs.
Everyone but you and maybe three homeless guys Chad bought meals for once knows that distracting things (i.e. things that do not directly pertain to what you are supposed to be focusing on) are, by definition, distractions. The word 'professionals' doesn't make them robots. In fact, why did Dansby already know on Monday morning that the whole team would agree with his sentiments about Chad? Because in the locker room that's what was being talked about. Not improving at football. But the living, walking soap opera that is "As The Chad Turns". Focus on football. No more b.s. in that lockeroom or off the field creating distractions that don;t let people focus. By the way, the day after Chad was cut was supposedly a down mood at practice, a BAD pracrice, and the WRs dropped more balls than ever. Yes, these men are professionals indeed. PLease save us the rebuttal.
Read this after we signed Hogan. Thought it was a little strange we hadn't heard much about him. http://cowboysblog.dallasnews.com/2011/04/the-next-miles-austin.html/
I would say that Bess and Nanee have been better WRs this offseason than CJ. If he ever gets healthy I would also say that Hartline is better than CJ. He certainly was far better than CJ last season. And if Hard Knocks is to be believed than Hogan has been better as well. I find Carpenter's wife more attractive than Tannehill's as well. She seems sweet and she's attractive, but she's just too skinny for my tatstes. I still rate Brown's GF the hottest of the one's we've seen followed closely by Long's wife.
Lauren Tannehill is decent looking. Nothing to go gaga over. But sitting next to Jackie Long she looks like a horse. When they showed Sherman railing the TE's it's like someone just slapped me in the face. I was like "whoa." Does Egnew look like Kellen Winslow Jr.?
