OKay, watching Henne play Carolina last year gave me a NEW thing I want to see this week: Tannehill not falling in love with the checkdown like henne did. I want to see him pushing that ball downfield. And I know he WILL. God, Tannehill has WAY more balls than Henne ever did. Also, Reggie Bush looked amazing last year. I hope he does as well in this blocking scheme (once they start actually blocking)
Players I am watching and fearless prediction: WR Hogan - Hope he has a big game propelling him up the depth chart (throw him the damn ball Pat!!!! ) LB Trusnik - Looking for him to continue to excel (he is my sleeper to be a starter before season is over) OC Samuda - Would like to see him at RG. (He is my pick to start there at some point in the season) RT Martin - Hoping to see improvement over last week. No false starts for starters ... better blocking overall S Wilson - Hoping to see him attack the ball in the air unlike last week when he gave up that long reception TE Egnew - One great catch doesn't erase all his struggles ... hope to see him have a better game.
hey Gunner, WR Hogan - Hope he has a big game propelling him up the depth chart (throw him the damn ball Pat!!!! ) *** Agreed.. but with Tannehill throwing him the ball. Tannehill needs two quarters of work. Let him throw with the ones AND twos. Give hogan a rotation in with the twos... maybe a couple snaps with the ones (not many though). Going from third team to second team is all Hogan gets for now. LB Trusnik - Looking for him to continue to excel (he is my sleeper to be a starter before season is over) *** Agreed. he has a passion for the game man! OC Samuda - Would like to see him at RG. (He is my pick to start there at some point in the season) *** would love to see how he looks there. He's our back center, right? But came out as a Guard yes? RT Martin - Hoping to see improvement over last week. No false starts for starters ... better blocking overall *** Agree. S Wilson - Hoping to see him attack the ball in the air unlike last week when he gave up that long reception ***** He'll more likely make a mistake on judging something like an angle that costs us a TD. But overall he is a great player, who just needs game experience imo. TE Egnew - One great catch doesn't erase all his struggles ... hope to see him have a better game. *** I think Egnew sucks.
Recently asked the young players that have impressed him the most I think Philbin brought up Derrick Shelby, Josh Samuda, Ryan Tannehill, Lamar Miller, Jonathan Martin and Jimmy Wilson. I think Wilson will claim a starting position very soon. I like that, botched interception against the Bucs notwithstanding.
Jimmy Wilson is sort of the S/Lb that we will see more of as the league passes the ball more often. I'd love it if he is Bob Sanders for us as that is the type of player required to defend the spread approaches and multi Te approaches we will see more of moving forward.
Those are all physically limited or mentally weak players who IMO were not going to amount to much anyways. Do you really think Colt McCoy was ever going to be anything other than a system QB at best? I sure don't.
is that because ya'll watch the super bowl somewhere other than home, where she cant get up and do all those things? lol
It seems we have quite a few starters who will be sitting out the game so hopefully we can see some rookies show up: Out: Dansby, Burnett, Wake, McDaniel, Hicks, Garrard, Hartline Questionable: Steinbach
Trusnik and Spilter and Misi at LB? Oh this will be very interesting. I can;t wait. If they look good... hmmmmm. McDaniel may not make this team if Randall can show well subbing the 1st team Dline and in goalline. Steinbach will be cut too. Hicks is a scratch though? That's worrisome. Who is starting in his place?? No Wake = NO PASS RUSH. So Vernon or Shelby need to bring it if they get the chance with 1st team. I'm starting to think Hartline needs to go on some sort of list. Would he have to be gone for the year or is there a half-season version? I don;t want to cut a WR with talent just to carry a guy who may not be playing at 100% for months.
Mando was suggesting that Jerry will be starting. I'd much rather see Samuda or maybe Murtha. Yeah, I think it'll be really interesting to see Shelby or Vernon in with the 1s.
Samuda... hasn;t he practiced at center? Not sure he has practiced at guard, despite having the skillset annd background.
The good news is, our 1st strong D sucked last game, so lots of turnover will give us a great chance to assess possible replacements... I mean we won't obviously replace Dansby or Wake... but still it's good for vets to feel pushed a bit.
for those of you that won't get to see the game and your internet goes out and can't watch it stream or maybe u don't have internet like me...nfl network has this in their info at 8pm eastern: "football. live look-ins on games currently in action. series. live". i figured thats better than nothing. i think theres only about 7 or 8 games playing at this time so hopefully we atleast get 1/8 of dolphins clips if we get more than that, then we've played a great game.
Koochie is almost always a thing of beauty. Not sure about special, but definitely always worth the time.
Last week Nate Garner was the 2nd string Right Guard after Artis Hicks and the starters came out. I would have loved to see Lydon Murtha work there at some point but it seems a little late to switch gears on that now. Olivier Vernon will assuredly start in place of Cam Wake and this will be a test to see what he's going to bring to the table from a pass rush standpoint. Derrick Shelby is the 2nd string left end so he'll stay 2nd string in my opinion. But Olivier Vernon is Wake's direct backup so he will play in his place. The inside guys in place of Dansby and Burnett will probably be Trusnik and Guyton (unfortunately). I'd love it if we had someone better than Guyton but thus far I'm not sure we do. Then again I did hear they gave Cameron Collins some run with the 1's at some point this week. So maybe all week there's been a three-way competition between Spitler, Guyton and Collins over who would replace Dansby. If so, who knows who won. Tony McDaniel had really better watch out. They can save $3 million by cutting him and to my eyes guys likes Kheeston Randall, Ryan Baker, Chas Alecxih and even Isaako Aitui have been playing well behind him. Alecxih mostly flashed in practice I'm told, I didn't see him do much during the game. Tui was a pleasant surprise during the game. In the 53 man roster I posted, I had McDaniel and Steinbach getting the ax.
In ever got a chance to isolate on Olivier in my rematch of the Bucs game. Maybe I'll have time tomorrow. Shelby looked good but Randall kept stealing my attention in that group. I'm curious if it was a one-off or if he can maintain that level again this week.I fully agree that McD could go. Much of his prior value was flexibility between heavy three front usage and four fronts at multiple positions. This staff doesn't shift guys around as much. Just Odrick, I think. I could have sworn I saw Spitler taking one reps at MLB in practice footage this week but I may be mistaken. Or maybe they rotated them through at MLB with the ones seeing who would be the best fit if Karlos didn't play (what's wrong with him anyways? I feel like guys suddenly are injured on the sidelines but I never hear about how or when it happened) I think Baker had one nice pressure or tipped pass vs the Bucs didn't he? I need to go watch Alecxih again. It takes forever when you watch each play ten times to see what each guy did, so I only made it to the third quarter on the rewatch. Not so much excited as interested in this game.
Pay for whichever programming block gives you NFL Network, tune your receiver to channel 212, and then wait for midnight EST tomorrow night.
Isaako Autui made one of the best plays of the game on defense that I saw..no idea what that means in the big pic, but it was a hell of a move to get to the Qb and disrupt.
Schefter and an article on bleacher report has tannehill starting. Sent from my XT875 using Tapatalk 2
If McDaniel is in tough for a roster spot , he has trade value imo. He's playing somewhere to be sure .
I totally agree with this. It would be a shame to hang on to Tony, and lose some young talent in the process. IMO, Randall will really have to crap the bed not to make the team, and Baker just always gives a solid workmanlike effort. Considering Odrick can also play DT, those two would round out the DT contingent for me.
wasssup gents, pre season friendly (as we call it) #2, so looking for some development on the D, and a solid running game..... bytheway im listening to AB Soul and Noah caine at mo from the states, suggestions welcome Socacasual UK FINS CRU
