I actually have semi-high hopes for this season, which probably should be the last one (is it I have no idea?). Dexter has really gotten old quickly and the past 2 seasons have been pretty predictable and boring. They finally have an interesting storyline with Deb finding it, I just hope they don't drop the ball and have it resolved quickly and go back to the same "everyone is looking for the serial killer but Dexter knows who he is, the serial killer finds out about Dexter and goes after one of his loved ones and Dexter kills the killer before the police can arrest him and Dexter escapes tons of close calls in between".

Interesting. Again not sure how much they can realistically really do with this show now that Deb knows but I guess we'll see. I'm just hoping this season is a good one as the last two have been very disappointing.

I honestly didn't dislike S6. S5 was extremely predictable, though. But then again, coming back from season 4 (which is the series' best imo) was a tall order.

But I've gotten this far, so I'll keep watching regardless of how this seasons turns out.

Dexter went from the best series on tv with a great idea behind it to really predictable and something I watch because i'm years invested in. Its kinda sad since this show was once so unbelievably great. It isnt even better than Homeland, the show after it. I am excited for this series even if it was too predictable that Deb would find him....c'mon Dex make this a great final 2 seasons!!!!!

I agree I'm going to stick with it because I already invested so much time in it already, I'm hopeful that this season will pick up because yes I agree Season 4 was so good I thought Season 5 was going to be great and it was just kind of so-so with them dropping the major storyline about Rita so quickly. I'm hoping they don't do the same with the Dexter/Deb stuff.

In the books, Deb knows about him AND he is training Aster and Cody the way Harry trained him.

Dexter 1-4 was amazing imo. Then did not do what they should have done, had Deb find out, so season 5 and 6 suffered big time for it. It got boring, dull and annoying because it was the same old story. I think Deb should have found out in season 5, would have been a good story considering Rita is dead, and now she knows why. I am so excited for this season because of that! This season should be great! And hopefully next season, to end it, is an epic conclusion to this show.

I can't think of many ways it could end and still please the fans of the show, tbh.

I agree with both of these posts.

Regarding the ending there's only really three ways I see it end: either Dexter gets caught and locked up (which people will crap on), Dexter simply stops being a killer or Dexter just continues to kill and the series simply ends.

Hopefully the writers think of something better because none of those options seem very interesting.

Dex has changed. Started out the funny, snarky, naive Dex out smarting everyone....but secretly. then they evolved him to become more dark, less likeable, and the relationships around him changed. Plus the best thing he did was not mess up, and they're making him sloppy.

We all love that Dex could do this without leaving clues and outsmarted everyone. Making him slip up takes away from what made him so great. That and they drag out certain plots too long. They need to have 1 longer plot/case that continues throughout the season while having shorter less meaningful cases carry you through the lull in the season more. For example, we certainly did not need Miggy Prado go that long, etc

The EP already said they know how it's gonna end.

Ultimately, I think something bad will happen to him at the end. Not sure exactly what, but it's the way to go imo. He is, after all, a killer.

Having him abandoning his lifestyle would be unrealistic imo.

i dont think he dies off. in the end it will appear as if he is dead, perhaps even faking his own death, then showing up in another city so he can ride off into the sunset continuing what he does. its the typical movie/show ending. nobody wants Dex to die. He does people are going to be pissed

It's been ridiculous since Season 3 but yeah I agree I really can't see how they can keep this storyline going without just falling back into the same "formula" each Dexter season has followed since the beginning. With that being said I did enjoy the 1st episode, it showed a lot of promise with the stuff between Deb and Dexter, even if the airport scene was completely over the top.

I dont think Deb will be the problem for him.I think she will learn to deal with it.Its her boss Laguerda that is becoming suspicious.

As far as the ending I hope its not one that has become fashionable lately .Leaving the audience to make their own conclusion and leaving many unanswered questions..........think Lost.

how come Deb did not ask deb about Rita. You would think she would be wondering if Rita died because of Dexter some how

Not just Rita, but why not ask him who else he killed. Perhaps she doesn't ask because she doesn't want to know or maybe once she's comfortable with Dexter's real side she will ask.

Also major bummer on the Louis angle. I kind of wish there was going to be more to it, obviously with the blood on Dexter's boat maybe there will be but just seems like they were hyping it to be a good pay off, again I guess we will have to wait and see.

Maybe it's just me but I'm bored with the Russian angle, doesn't really interest me much, maybe because I think it's somewhat predictable where it's going.

No way, I love Ray Stevenson. Hopefully the Rome movie happens. I also like that Dexter has a different kind of enemy than the usual. Also, the stripper is hot. That may be the most important detail here.

Eh. The whole storyline is kind of dull and a bit of a mess, although that's usually the case with the main villain storylines. Same things continue to happen (where the main bad guy finds out about Dexter and tries to take him down) just different circumstances. The more interesting part of the season has been how Deb and Dexter's relationship is different (since there is finally some character development going on in the show instead of just Dexter talking about wanting to change) and how it will move forward and of course LaGuerta reopening the Bay Harbor cases.

I would have prefered Dexter and Louis playing mind games back and forth with Louis slowly finding out about Dexter's secret and then possibly using it against him thus putting Dexter in his first real moral test to simply kill Louis because Louis knows about him or let him live because outside of being a weirdo/creep Louis isn't a "bad guy/evil" and thus would be breaking his code. I think offing Louis was a huge let down and a big missed opportunity, even if the blood on the boat will come back into play (at least I hope so).

Kind of surprising to see Issac shelved in jail. I figured it would be a slow burn with Stevenson showing up at all the worst times and a final showdown. Interesting that Dex's enemy is a female serial killer. Considering how few of them exist, I'm interested in where this could go. I hope it doesn't follow the same road as the Lila storyline.

The "twist" at the end was just awful. Did Dexter not learn about keeping serial killers alive that know his identity? It's only happened in every freaking season this show had. If Dexter wants to have a relationship with Hannah fine but did he really need to have her on the death bed only to let her go?

They have a freakin awesome storyline with the Russian, but the stuff with the flower girl and all Deb related stuff is just killing the show for me.
