Anybody think we win more than 5 games?

The oline. The QB. The RBs. The TEs. The Dline. The coaching staff. I said we lost some talent on the WRs and the CBs.

 

Before the offseason started, the Dolphins were one of the most underrated teams in the NFL, with a win projection of 8.5 based on the previous years finishes in several indexes, as well as point differential adapted to the new schedule.

All of this is projections of course...but the Dolphins have done a lot of damage to that number since the offseason started. Having a rookie QB doesn't help for projections purposes as well, so there is that.

Based on only the info that we have as of now, projections are hovering from 5.5 to 6.5.

Where the rubber really hits the road is if there is a complete collapse of team moral due to losing and how Philbin handles it. That can bode for a disaster.

BUT, this will probably be the most interesting bad season in a while.

The Offense is the biggest issue and if the Oline can't stay healthy, it could get ugly fast. They key will be keeping Tanny from getting killed, so he can play next year.

This is my bet with you. If the Dolphins win eight games or more this season, I will never post on this forum again. If on the other hand, the Dolphins finish with seven wins or less, you can never post on this forum again. How about that bet?

I thought you were so sure of the Dolphins winning eight games or more this season that you guaranteed it. I guess you really don't expect anything more from the Dolphins this season then most of us and therefore you are afraid of losing this bet. At least I am willing to stand by my prediction that the Dolphins will not be a 500 or above team this season. You on the other hand have been exposed as a fraud in your prediction.

 

I am sure. I'll guarantee it. I'm not willing to bet posting here on it, because for all I know something crazy could happen like all of our starters get injured.

However, if you're that ready to not post here ever again, by all means start now, you don't need me.

By the way, when Wal mart guarantees a price, they don't say we'll leave town if you can beat it. So, really STFU.

 

I laughed pretty hard at this. But seriously, probably not. Anywhere between 4-6 wins is a realistic number for this roster of garbage.

 

I never stated that I don't want to post here. I just wanted to know exactly how much confidence you have in the guarantee you made that the Dolphins would win 8 games or more. Obviously you don't have any confidence at all in this guarantee and that is exactly what I suspected. I noticed in your guarantee earlier that you never mentioned anything about the possibility of something, "crazy" happening to prevent the Dolphins from winning 8 games or more. Instead you waited until you were called on it, and now all of a sudden your, "GUARANTEE", is no longer a guarantee.

As soon as we realize they arent gonna be .500 (could be as soon as week 8), then for the remainder of the season but if it comes down to the last week, which i doubt it will, then for all of the off season till the begining of next season

 

By all means, walk into a store and ask them to guarantee their product and that if it fails they have to close up shop and leave town.

Sorry dude, but all of our starters could not so much as get a hangnail all season long and this team isnt winning 8 games. This is a 4 win team all day long. This team will be lucky to average 16 points a game this year and the defense isnt stopping anyone. When our receivers can be covered one on one, which they will be cause no one is afraid of them that means we wont be able to run the ball. And, no one is even gonna bother to try and run on us becasue, why should they, they are gonna torch our secondary. I wouldnt be surprised if this team sets a record for average margin of defeat this year. And yet, some guys are still positive.

Ok, so if they win 8 games or more you have to display a sig of my choosing for the whole off season, and if they win less than 8, I'll display a sig of your choosing fpr the whole off season. The sigs have to follow TOS.

Just to be clear, the sig change happens as soon as we know that they will or will not be .500. If they start 0-9 then that is when you change your sig. if they start 8-0, that is when I'll change my sig. BTW, if they start 8-0, it will be worth it for me to lose the bet

This has nothing to do with not liking you. Other than comments on this forum, I don't know you at all. You may be the greatest guy in the world, as far as I know. I don't take anything anyone says negatively to me on this forum to heart. I just wanted to see exactly how confident you are in your belief that this is a 500 or better team.

Over the period of time I have been on this forum, I have read several of your comments that I agreed with. You and I certainly don't agree in regards to Ireland or the talent level of this team. I know you are a Dolphin fan and I appreciate that. My problem with this team certainly has nothing to do with you and everything to do with the direction I feel this team is headed, with Ireland as the GM.

So we should just agree to disagree at this time and both of us hope that you are more right about this team than I am. I would like nothing better then at the end of this season to be able to tell you that you were right all along. I look forward to many more comments from you on this forum. I would be shocked if we win more than 5 games. I think 3-4 is more realistic.

 

I hate the Jets and their fans more than any other team, but after we got Tebowed last year I am not going to bet against them.
But you can bet your *** I will be screaming at Fat Rex and Sanchize all game JETS SUCK

 

I'd love to go 6-10 too. I believe this team will give us everything it's got.

We should wait for them to win one though, before we can exhale and turn our thumbs this way (up)

this offense is probably worse than ours, they have to go wildcat to have any success (sounds familiar ?).....anyways we seem to have the jets number for some time now and i don't think it will change this year

Call me crazy, but looked at the sked today with some reading and heck, I wouldn't even be surprised to see us sittin at 4-2 by our off-week. Crazy, I know, but I think doable.

Problem is, with young starters it takes 3-4 games to get up to speed, so we are very likely to start slowly and finish strong then start strong and then fall off.

Could easily see 1-4 start to the yr, then 4-2.

defense is still talented, and they are what carried us to our 6 wins last year...

lets see where we downgraded:
- WR definitely with the lost of BMarsh and Hartline injury
- you could argue CB, but id say its a push, we basically traded Vontae for Marshall who had beat him out for the starting job this year anyway, depth behind isn't much different than last year

Where else? so a team who finished the season 6-3, now suddenly will win 2 less games with a schedule a million times easier? I dont know, id be more surprised by 4-12 than 8-8
