I think we all want that in our quarterback. But just because he doesn't currently know what teams are in what division doesn't mean that (meaning the tendency stuff you mentioned) won't happen. Also he has a point, that the division's make no sense.

    Ehh there's a reason he's called a rookie.

Why the hell would he know anything about his competition in the division when he hasn't faced any of them yet?

The things people choose to put importance on make no sense to me. Even less sense when this kind of exaggeration is made after you accused me in another thread of arguing for arguing's sake.

I agree. I hope he works at it and takes it seriously throughout his career. It's necessary, IMO

I put this in the "doesn't mean a damn thing either way" category.

knowing the divisions is necessary? Id rather he devote any time he's working on football to the playbook and film study, not learning the divisions which is completely unimportant...

I'd wager to say he knows a lot more about the NFC South so far than the AFC East.

I don't think it's that important, yet. I specifically said it's too early to even panic about such a thing.

I simply stated that I hope he starts taking these things serious and begins to learn about the league and the competition because that's what it will take to be successful.

Where did I argue with anyone, btw? My post was in response to post I decided to build upon. I simply stated my opinion on the scene in a thread about the scene.

Antonio Cromartie didn't know the names of his children.

I think we can give Tannehill a pass on this.

And I betcha Tim Rattay does too, it means nothing to how good a quarterback he is.

And Manning has been in the NFL how long now?

I swear, this show is making mountains out of canyons.

I guess I should've used the sarcasm button.

I don't think its a big deal. Its more a perception thing.
Although one would think he'd brush up on that in his prep to join the NFL.

If he throws touchdown passes, who cares? He could think he's playing in Saskatchewan the following week and it wouldn't make a difference.

It was funny, but it didn't surprise me. And it means absolutely nothing.

I grew up in South Florida and knew a lot of really good football players. By and large, I knew way more about the NFL and the Dolphins than they did. Even my best friends who loved the Phins...they didn't follow as passionately once they got to high school ball.

A few of them made it to the NFL. One in particular was a family friend and still knew next to nothing about the Dolphins as a draft eligible guy. He ended up playing in Miami.

Lots of guys are more concerned with what they're doing in high school or college football. Different strokes....

As someone who could name almost every starter on every team in the league by the time he was 11 or 12, this kind of thing has always confused me. Why is it that the people who are the best at something often care the least about it? This is why if a player truely loves and understands the league, fans worship him.

This is a perfect analogy....it was bizarre...I don't care what anyone else says...bizarre. You would think as the draft came up he would have studied the teams in his off time, he was even injured so he had time to get in front of a computer. it was embarrassing to be quite honest, not funny but embarrassing .

I would venture to think tannehill sees us and thinks its weird we spend our time learning unimportant football divisions when he was spending all that time learning to become a QB and WR and was so successful he was drafted at 8 and will start his rookie year because he beat out the vet competition.
