This would be a very positive move, and would give us our 2nd competent receiver (Is Hartline Alive?)
About time. Now ship a 4th for JJ. Go into the season with JJ, Hartline, Bess, Matthews, Gates and Moore. Wouldn't be the best. But would certainly be head and shoulders better them what we had last week.
Funny how one player who isn't a starter on another team, added to a roster of meh, makes that roster better in one weeks time.
Is Hartline even in pads yet? I haven't seen him at all? Does anyone know his projected status for week one?
Well someone is going to have to ask him some personal questions that only the "real" B. Hartline would know to confirm its him. start with something easy, like what degree did you bend that blonde over prior to snapping the happy picture????
One might want to peek at these numbers before getting all gaga over James Jones. Yes I know Joe Philbin knows him ... Philbin also knew Matt Flynn. If we give up more than a 6 or 7 its to much imo. The numbers: http://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2012/07/02/three-years-of-drop-rate-wide-receivers/ James Jones is # 2 for most drops 14. +%
If Green Bay is in a numbers crunch with their receivers and wants to keep people at other positions they'd need to do something today or risk losing someone they might not want to lose.
Jones / Hartline / Bess / Gaffney / Matthews is actually pretty decent. Then of course you have Fasano, Clay, and Bush as receiving threats. I'd be more comfortable with Tannehill being thrown into the fire with that group than what we've got as of this moment. It's not great and it won't get us into the postseason, but it's decent. This season isn't really about wins and losses anyhow. It's about the progress of Tannehill which will make or break this franchise's direction. Gotta get the rook as much help as possible because right now he's got nothing to work with.
Coworker just told me he heard on Sid's show that we traded Matt Moore for James Jones? Can anyone confirm?
That would be great. We need to keep those extra picks for Ireland's replacement next offseason, and we really need a proven target for Tannehill at the same time. Matt Moore doesn't have a future here, so that's the perfect swap. I doubt it though, figuring GB would probably want a 3 or 4+6/7 for JJ and Moore doesn't equalize that value, IMO.
The speculaton on NFL Sirius yesterday was GB would have 0.0 interest in Moore. Hopefully they made the trade.
Depends on what show you heard that on though. If it came out of that idiot Adam Schein's cakehole....disregard.
A Moore/Jones trade would really suprise me as Moore has shown no indication he can play well in the WCO. I'd be ecstatic about that move!
Don't know how reliable this is but here's the link saying Matt Moore was traded. http://phinphanatic.com/2012/08/31/breaking-news-matt-moore-traded/
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...ers-2012-to-trade-or-not-to-trade-james-jones Not much in this article but I found this tidbit interesting I didn't realize a player could turn down the oppurtunity to go to a teams active roster.
If the Packers really want a 2nd round pick in return for James Jones, then hopefully we'll move on because that is one round too high.
