I'm on record as saying we are in for a long yr, I think the decisions made this offseason meant we are not tweaking the roster, we are rebuilding.

That said, here is what I'd like to see in 2012:

-Ryan Tannehill cements the starting Qb job, think 3,800 yds, 20+ Td's and 10 or fewer int's
-Oline finally, finally, gels, my goodness how long have we said this?
-Daniel Thomas turns into the Clinton Portis type of back I think he is
-A young Wr emerges, could be Moore, could be Matthews, we need someone to step up
-Marcus Thigpen does what he always has done, that is be a sort of Leon Washington clone

This yr is all about the offense, one of the secrets of good offensive football is it takes 2-3 yrs for an offense to really develop replete with depth and everyone being on the same page.

I am concerned about the Defense, I think the players are not buying in, and TBH, will be happier when Karlos Dansby plies his trade elsehwere, it is not the $$$, or the production, it is my view he is just to soft to be a leader on a championship caliber Defense.

Dansby is sort of Channing Crowder in attitude he just has more physical talent then Crowder had, a jokester may be fun, they are not leaders, I want someone who will fire up the D, that is not Karlos D.

I would like to see Jonathan Martin finally " get it " so to speak. I think Jerry will be fine but have zero confidence in Martins abilities at this level. I can see a rookie making rookie mistakes, that I understand but what I have seen from Martin so far has more to do with him having little or no strength at all in his upper or lower body. That has nothing to do with being a rookie IMO. It has all to do with the player just plain ol being weak and not really liking the weight room.

I for one would like to see him replaced by game 3 if he still keeps getting beaten like a rug.

Not at all Al, 3,800 yds is a little over 220 ypg on avg, and if Philbin follow through on his speed offense, RT will have lots of attempts.

Problem I'm seeing is it takes time to gel, so you rack up stats, but not wins.

This is why Arizona did not resign him. As I said, decent player but nothing special. Wasn't at Arizona and is not here. The man talked big and announced things he did not like in AZ also but did nothing to back his mouth up on the field.

As I said, Dansby is best at getting caught up in the wash of the O and D lines. He is great at that.

oline gels as well as you mentioned, that would mean another 1500+ yards rushing and another 10+ TD´s which is combined with the passing yardage and TD:INT ratio....a playoff scenario

and don´t get me wrong...i would be lovin it

I can't imagine Tannehill throwing less than ten picks this season. Especially considering he should have a pretty decent amount of attempts.

I dislike the way media arbitrarily chooses who to support and who to slam down. They have decided that the once thought too small to succeed Russell Wilson will be the next nfl superstar, while Tannehill will just struggle and be the next Blaine Gabbert.

I fully expect T-hill to be the second best rookie QB this year, closely behind Andrew Luck. I do think he'll throw more than 10 int. He is a rookie after all. But 3500-38000 yards, 20 TDs and 12-15 Ints with this offensive roster, will be a very good rookie season indeed.

I love how every sports show I tune into regardless of station talks about Tannehill as the QB in this class who won't make it. In reality he has shown nothing but the opposite. It's like they just glance at box scores and form an opinion without having ever seen how he runs the offense, the dropped balls, the poise.

Nature of the beast of "modern journalism".
    Not about journalism at all.
It's about who can jump on the right bandwagon, who can create controversy whether valid or contrived and throwing a bunch of opinions out there to cover all possible outcomes. A large percentage of these guys I'm sure do exactly what you mentioned. Look at box scores and stat lines to form their entire opinions.

The problem that I see about THill throwing all those TD's is... who is going to catch them???

Isn't WR our biggest problem??? then how is he going to get all those TDs???...yards???
