Wouldn't surprise me. Philbin was the TE coach at Iowa and moved Eric Steinbach from Tight End to Guard for the first time. That worked out very well. I think he and his staff would be very competent at spotting a Tight End who offered something as an Offensive Lineman.
I am really interested in Pressley. He performed well in San Diego with this position change. I want to see him develop. He is the kind of athlete that could do well in that position. Look at this punt return in the Florida Allstar Game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Ls7AD9kwy8
Once we remove one QB before week 1 game, he maybe the best option to promote to the 53. I'd hate to see us work with him for half the season and have another team come in and swoop him up.
You know what's interesting? HBO was very invested in the Les-Brown-Cinderella storyline (likeable guy, longshot, a few rare physical attributes, hot gf), and yet I actually can't remember footage of more than one catch (where he got blown up). You know if they had it, they'd have stuck it in there.
I remember more than one catch, it was among the montages of practices. So they did have it, and they did stick it in there. Of course, following the bold, they barely showed any catches by Bess from practices. So... HBO just isn't going to stick a catch in there just to stick it in there (save for montage parts) unless there's some valuable context as well (like Campbell's talk with Les or HBO setting up Hogan's story). If you follow practice reports Les made plenty of catches. Catches weren't his problem.
You underestimate how much footage they shoot. They could make Les look like a practice all star if they wanted to.
Not sure I get that. You're basically a project by nature if you're on the practice squad. If your concern is CB depth, then add someone to the 53 man roster.
