I think the one extra game we may win would be detrimental more so than helpful. I don't want to lose any games or tank the season but if a guy is that slim of an upgrade for what is most likely one season...I'd rather take the extra loss than possibly lose 2-3 draft spots.

Now if we finish one game short of the playoffs I'll kick myself.

I cannot grasp the reasoning of not wanting to make any upgrade because that may cause us to win more games, whether it's 1, 3, 5, or whatever total.

I actually agree. Gurley is no better than Wallace. Borel could have been our second string slot guy behind Bess, but when Armstrong came available... Outside deep threat trumps slot.

Because Stallworth is a one year option in my opinion. His presence is not going to make us such a better team that it's worth a loss in draft position. If I thought his presence would make a huge impact even for one season it would be worth it. However a minimal short term upgrade isn't worth very much.

AA can be here multiple seasons so he is worth it. He is part of the bigger picture. Stallworth really is not. We shouldnt be wasting our time with guys who arent part of the bigger picture IMO.

He could be, he is only 29 years old and his performance won't be much less if any than Donte. I'm not sure why you even think Stallworth would be an upgrade over him though considering Legadu had a much better year last season.

Legadu at least has decent measurables. Stallworth is a one trick pony getting older.

Im confused on the age of Stallworth. Wikipedia has him listed as born in 79 but NFL.com has his age as 31.

    Fly. Post. Post-Corner.

That's all I'd give him the first month, but lots of reps to get the timing down.

On September 16 in the year of 1983 a future Miami Dolphin was born. His mother named him Legadu....WTF is a Legadu?

i thought the only goodthing that happened today was me trading my 87' ranger bass boat that needs alot of work and is probably only worth about $500 for a 2002 honda 4 wheeler that was hardly ever used, looks brand new and is probably worth $2500!. needless to say i am very happy about that and the new additions to our team!

^ Yeah dude...Thats really super news.

Aside from that Anthony Armstrong had like 800+ yards receiving in 2010 with McNabb throwing to him.
I guess he was injured last year cuz he only had 7 grabs for like 50 yards. At any rate I hope he's healthy because at this point he actually is an upgrade. Is he related to former NBA point guard Darrell Armstrong? They look a like.

Word is that BJ Cunningham was signed to the Eagle practice squad. That means Cunningham didn't want to be in Miami, or was never going to be a part of our practice squad.

It may be that Sammy Brown is going to be asked to do what Vernon was not doing in the preseason.

Stallworth was born 11-10-80, fwiw. 3 years older than Naanee.

I see some supposition in what you say. He could be? Based on what that he has ever done?
You say Stallworth is a one trick pony. Well Naanee is a no trick pony.

Last season, even with Newton having a record setting year, and one of the best WRs in the league opposite him, drawing the defense's best cover men, Naanee still managed the worst rating in the league according to PFF. He was 115th out of 115 WRs rated who played 25% of their team's snaps. Stallworth was 49th. Go look at any highlight video of Newton, and try to find even one play he made to Naanee.

Measureables? Stallworth is 6' and 200 lbs. Naanee is 6'2 and 220. Both acceptable sizes for an NFL WR.

I don't know how this argument came down to just Stallworth vs Naanee. Any of the 3 vet WRs that NE cut would be an upgrade over Naanee. Stallworth would be the 3rd choice of the 3, IMO.

To be honest I'm not sure it's even worth debating because neither of them is very good at this stage.

By measurables I also meant Naanee has more impressive physical attributes as well. Not to mention that those 2 inches make him pretty much prototype size. I'd consider Stallworth sligtly undersized but not small.

Naanee: 4.41 40 Time, 40 inch vertical, 7.4 foot broad jump. With Naanee you at least hope there is untapped potential.

for a 40 inch vertical that is a really bad broad jump

so the official word is that we claimed Anthony Armstrong off waivers. Apparently having four years of NFL experience subjects you to waivers. I thought he wouldn't have been, that the rule was four years or more... but perhaps that first year he had on the practice squad DOES NOT count and that is why.

I'm not sure about Sammy Brown, but the other three players are going to contribute this year, no doubt.

I'm sorry it's 9.9 feet. I was an idiot and divided the inches by 16 (I had ounces on my mind) without realizing.

Here's an interesting tidbit I just realized. Excuse me if this has been mentioned because I missed it if so.
Nolan anyway was the 223rd player drafted in 2009, and Stanford was the 223rd player drafted in 2010.

Untapped at almost 29. Maybe. But the pressure is on him to show he belongs. He has not earned his role in my view, but Joe Philbin is the head coach and knows what he is doing.

BenVolinPBP Wouldn't be shocked if Sammy heads to the practice squad soon RT @PhantomAlterEgo: @BenVolinPBP Does Sammy Brown look better than Kaddu? I wouldn't call this an endorsement would you? Hum.
