It's funny. On paper it's a bigger mismatch each time out.

And to think in the first meeting, we hadn't lost an opener in what, 11 years?

We followed 11 straight with 2-7 in our last 9 openers. Pretty much illustrates the fall of the franchise the last decade.

Frankly, it wasn't even close. Tannehill is more accurate, has a stronger arm, is more athletic and does a better job of getting the ball out on time. There didn't appear to be any discernible difference in their ability to read defenses at least during the preseason. Tannehill is just a better player and a better fit for the offense.

Not sure how the Texans making rook QBs look like the second coming of Peyton Manninng could be considered an insult.

Tannehill should probably take it as an insult. I don't rate him at all.

Don't you know Foster is just a system back? We'll just plug in Tate and Forsett and keep rolling.

Honestly Foster has looked awful in preseason, the fan wisdom says going vegetarian has ruined him and someone needs to slip him some steak.

I don't see you around here much anymore! Get on!

As to record: We have a VERY easy schedule. If we were a proven above average team, this would be as close to a cakewalk as you can get in the NFL. So hopefully we can be above average!

I actually think we have a chance to win Sunday considering Houston's defense has yet to play a full game and could become gassed in the 2nd half if our uptempo offense can sustain a couple drives.

I'm actually feeling decent about the game. We're going to see some REAL offensive game planning for the first time and if this staff is half as creative as I believe they are we should see some nice packages to take advantage of our personnel.

I think Philbin has some innovative ideas he will install here along with Sherman, I mean they even revolutionized the way we practice in a sense. At the very least changed it greatly. I don't believe practice regimen is the only innovation we will see on this team this season. Philbin is an offensive mind by trade, chances are he has a few ideas he's never had the freedom to implement.

At some point you gotta think that the reps and tempo they have come accustomed to in practice will translate to some sort of rhythm that the other team won't be able to catch up with...

I agree. It seemed like the preseason was more about allowing Philbin & Co to best analyze their new team on a player by player basis rather than trying to execute successful drives and defensive stops.

Statistically speaking Ben Tate outperforms Foster on a per down basis, especially in the running game.

I have more confidence in our ability to do it on the ground though, Newton v Wake is not a matchup I like.

I'm sure Newton will get some help since no one else on our D Line creates constant pressure...

Thanks for having us Dolphins fan, don't think we will meet again this season.

Your guys played hard and you've got a nice run defense at least.

I was at Reliant stadium for the game yesterday. Great day , great weather, beautiful stadium. Built just like the AZ Cardinals stadium with the fabric roof. Every dome/closed in stadium should use this stuff. Even with minimum lighting the place is nice and bright.

Getting back to the Texan fan. Good people down there. But, with all due respect and I know you beat us. Your team is not by any stretch of the imagination a play off team. If it wasn't for 3 tipped balls and a fumble recovery this game would have gone down to the wire. You guys play a team with good legit receivers and you are basically doomed.

No sour grapes by any means but saying the same thing I said to the home town fans sitting alongside of me. You have one threat, Andre Johnson. Yes Foster should get more into the football mode but as good as people think your defense is ? No, I don't. Yes we made mistakes but we basically moved the ball at will up and down the field and thats with a rookie QB with what amounts to no receivers.

Your kickoff return guy everyone was creaming about did nothing. Sure he ran 3 back in pre season, against backup players. And do not forget, its pre season. Even when starters are playing can we all say they are REALLY playing ?

Like I said, great place, you guys will probably win your division because it has some of the worst teams in the NFL but in no way shape or form are the Houston Texans a play off team outside of the fact as I said about your division, its horrible.

i think thats a little to far...houston has a good team...i'm really happy with our defensive front, they shredded one of the best running games in the league...we generated 2 sacks, 5 QB hits and 8 TFL and houston is one of the best teams we will face all year...i was stunned the holes reggie had to run through...oline looked better than expected too....of course we still dont score enough, i think we were the only team that didnt score an offensive TD this week still think we could be 4-2 when the bye week comes around

I would say that Houston is a playoff team and arguably the best team in the AFC. I'd be worried whether they can generate enough consistent pass rush pressure, but otherwise they're incredibly talented. I see a balanced team. A very good defense and a very good offense that can hurt you in a variety of ways.

I registered, just to reply to you. You're basing your opinion off one game. I get your points & agree to some extent. But we've still got some new stuff (scheme as well as personnel) to sort through, but there were three main issues we were worried about & things are looking pretty good so far.

How was Newton going to do on the right side of our line. I believe the numbers say we ran pretty good on the right side. And his pass protection was as good (after one game) if not better than the guy he replaced.

We were concerned about Kareem Jackson #25 playing a full game at CB.... he did aiight.

Can JJWatt do it again.... play like he did at the end of the season when he was basically taking over games.... I think there's a good chance of that happening.

Other than that, Keeping Schaub healthy, keeping Andre healthy, & keeping the whole team healthy is our biggest issue. We've got plenty of time to gel.

So while we do have some issues, we're pretty confident it's nothing that's going to stop us from going where we want to go. Room for improvement & all, but what NFL team can say any different?

Bright side for you guys, y'all aren't going to be an easy out this year. Tannehill (lot of folks here in Texas rooting for that guy) could be the real deal, your OC needs to not panic & keep the game on the ground until Tannehill has had more time to adjust to the NFL. Yesterday's game shouldn't have been about winning. It should have been about execution & ball security. Worry about winning at the end of the 4th qtr, not the end of the 2nd half. Your defense is pretty stout, I'd rather play Baltimore twice this year (second time in the play-offs) than you guys.

By the way, how do you think the "real" play-off teams did yesterday?
