I am rooting for the Phins all the way but it will be a big one to accomplish. The Texans Defense has gotten better the last two seasons. Hard knocks is gone they can cuss like they mean it now.
Lol,Thats funny.I see 38 to 10 texans being realistic and not a typical fin forum pot smoker. On a postive note I like philbin and tanny and in 2 years this team is going to be for real.
Honestly, while I fully expect a Texan win, I don't see a complete blowout. Probably something in the 34-17/23 range. Convincing, but not a complete embarrassment. One, I think our running game will be decent, and I think Tannehill will be rough early, but settle down for some nice drives late. Also, I think it will take a while for Schaub to really get back in the thick of things, post injury. Unless he has a Marino v. Pats '94 opener in him. Quite frankly, I'm just hoping for a good effort, something to build upon to take them into what I expect will be their first win against the Raiders next week.
Everyone is secretely hoping, wishing and expecting an upset. But in reality, it's gonna be a tough game to watch. I only hope it's a close game. Worse thing that can happen to Dolphins and Tannehill, is to fall back by a couple of TDs early on and be forced to play from deep behind. Let's hope for a close game.
I am hoping and praying for a season that just flat surprises everyone in the league - in a positive way. I think the team begins to come together about week four, and start playing some exciting football. Just a feeling.. And - a locker room has absolutely nothing on a compartment full of off watch sailors just sitting around playing cards and shootin' the ****. That kind of usage of.... uh.. colorful metaphors is an art form all in itself.
I don't see them hanging a 38 spot on this defense. But I do see a rather lopsided loss. 24-13 is my prediction
I can see why you might think that based on the overall preseason. But if you look at the starters' effort vs. the Falcons (a very similar team to the Texans), sans Dansby and Burnett as well, I think that will be more indicative of what we'll see. And it should keep the game closer. Of course, let's hope for less dropped passes, eh.
We might surprise some people with a fully healthy Defense. If wake can get pressure, and we can cause a couple of turn overs, we can keep it close, then who knows? I like Tannehill's demenor, he is smart, and confident.....we need stability at the QB position before we can truly do anything consistently in this league. I hope he's the guy. We need it. Hell, we deserve it.
Actually, its our D that I'm most concerned about. None of us expect miracles with Tanny and the new offense, but how will this previous-top 10 D operate with a new scheme and such. Even tho the players are the basically the same, can they replicate the successes they had and will they get off to a better start than they did last year. I, as was many of us, was quick to blame the slow start last year on the labor issues, but how will the new rules installed affect us with a new staff?? It'll still be fun to watch, even if our worst fears come to fruition, just because of the unknown...
I hope Tanny has such a rediculously good game that the announcers are faulting the Texans rather than giving him credit, giving him a few more weeks of success before everyone realizes the kid is for real! LOL!
I don't know, a blowout is very possible, but... Maybe its the homer in me maybe I am optimistic, but Houston only scored 23 on us last time, and the last 7 points were a few minutes into the 4th quarter... and our passing D was terrible the first few games.... So , this is why I am optimistic... We could surpirse a team that is playing at home and maybe over confident with all the publicity they are getting...
I would be one happy mofo cause I drafted Tanny in the 16th round of my keeper league. If he blows up I will be a power house for years!!! I am actually not going to be shocked to see naane catch 7 passes for 100 yards.......
Agreed. There will be some really good moments, and some REALLY bad moments.....But with expectations so low, I am just hoping for something we can build on. After 17 years.....christ, we need stability at QB. If all we did this season was find our future qb....it was a success, cause we can finally....FINALLY build off that!!!
Dolphins scored 13 points in the last preseason game to start off the regular season. Houston and Miami play at 13.00 hours on Sunday. #13 said he would help mentor #17. Now if #17 can play 17 games this season this # thing would be sweet.
Its a coincidence. There's no such things as signs. Ryan Tannehill has 13 letters though. Add the 1 and 3 from 13 and you get 4. 4 + 13.....17. I know, I know....you have to go to the Mind Store and get a new one, since the last one was just blown.
http://nflfilms.nfl.com/2012/03/28/cosell-talks-the-tannehill-project/ Cosell was Luke warm on Tannehill.
A nice comment for a change : And I thought I was bullish on Tannehill: Trent Dilfer was asked for a surprise player this year and Tannehill was his choice. "He has as many unique traits as we've seen in a long time," Dilfer said on Sirius radio. "He's green" and he doesnt have a lot around him. But Dilfer compared him to Cam Newton as far as the different ways he can beat teams.
Some reading material to help pass the time. All too familiar with being stuck on crutches. http://mattwaldmanrsp.com/2012/03/1...d-prospect/?blogsub=confirming#subscribe-blog Part 1- http://mattwaldmanrsp.com/2012/02/09/managing-the-pocket-part-i-texas-am-qb-ryan-tannehill/ Part 2- http://mattwaldmanrsp.com/2012/02/11/managing-the-pocket-part-ii-texas-am-qb-ryan-tannehill/
This is going to be so interesting. He's a walking paradox at QB. On one hand, he's inexperienced. On the other hand, he's got more experience coming into the same system.
