This season has been thrown. We are going with what we have. At the end of the season we will keep whatever has floated to the top and clean house with the rest, including Naanee. Never liked players with too many vowels in their names anyway.

I'm trying to figure out how/why he made the final roster.

He is evidently a practice superstar. I have watched every preseason game and the game today, and he looks completely worthless to me. Maybe he has pics of Ireland in a compromising position?

I'm going to make a prediction that we cut Naanee this week... either tomorrow or Tuesday. We will come to our senses and he'll be gone. Part 2 bonus prediction... Matthews will be active the rest of the season. He's done nothing to warrant a roster spot. He helped cause the INT that changed the game by not being aggressive on his in breaking route. He barely played the second half. Don't think we'll sign Gaffney. Don't think we'll sign anyone... Probably promote either Hogan or Fuller from the practice squad.

If Naanee doesn't get cut, something terrible might happen to him...:gun_bandana::nutkick::2guns:

I think he will make the roster longer than we want. But his absence in the second half was an indication that the coaches have lost some faith in him.

Probably Chad was the hoped for 1 season stopgap but after he got cut that left it to Naanee because they figured RT doesn't need a good all around WR corps to help his development.

People can spin it any way they want to, but when Ireland goes after Naanee and Chad because he could get them cheap apparently, and does not even make a serious offer to guys like Lloyd, Garcon, Manningham, or Robinson, then basically ignores the position on draft day except as an afterthought, I cannot help but have a few reservations about his vision on how to put together a team.

Bull****. I wasn't explaining he wasn't as bad as we thought. He is.

I was explaining what the COACHING STAFF probably thought they saw in him. I think they're ****ing fools for keeping him around.

But since we are all stumped why supposedly competent coaches could keep a useless fart like Naanee, I wanted to try to figure it out, that's all. I did try to find a way to swallow their decision and 'be positive' about it, but I am NOT a Legedu Naanee supporter.

I am an Onion supporter, however. :)

Your quoted as saying "He's on our team. He has good things to offer." now I can't find anything good that he has to offer so your either a Naanee supporter or a Naanee turncoat.

I think part of the overall problem is that Bess is better suited for slot receiver... so you have Naanee and Bess both playing outside... no wonder Tannehill is trying to get the ball out quickly.

Rishard Matthews needs to be active. He showed some promise in the preseason. He gets open. Give him a shot.

The only positive I saw from Nanee was as a blocker. I put that first INT on him. Going forward, I expect to see Hartline as the starter in his place and Armstrong get more snaps. I'd like to see Matthews pass him as well, I don't know if that will happen until about half way through the season.

I was trying to be positive and support him despite not personally agreeing w the coaches.

But I failed to convince myself.

Like dating a girl who you have doubts about, but figure you can get over it and make it work.... No. No you can't.

Naanee sucks. I apologize for trying to convince anyone otherwise.

That's the mistake IMO. I refuse to be positive about something when I can see no visual evidence to give me reason to do so.
I'd say that he is a good practice player who for some ungodly reason has the coaches fooled into believing his sucking in games is just a temporary anomaly. That is the nicest thing I can say about him.

    Thigpen 1

By my admittedly rough count, 25-26 of those came in the first half. He's clearly being phased out of the offense. Armstrong finished with the third best run-blocking score on the team according to PFF. Also, credit where credit is due, Naanee made a solid block on Thigpen's punt return touchdown.

I thought Naanee blocked pretty well (for the run and completed passes) so there's at least one positive about his game IMO.

Philbin also mentioned in his presser that Naanee threw a key block to spring Thigpen on the PR TD. I hope special teams is all they let him do.

Sherman was quoted as saying a month or so ago, that Rizzi would be allowed input on which backup WRs were kept, ostensibly for special teams. While I was thinking when it was said, that this helped Pruitt (wrong) and Marlon Moore (correct), I guess it must have been Naanee too, especially since JPru was waived. Could be Rizzi was clamoring for Marlon and Naanee for this STs ability over any other WRs. We just had to see a lot more of Naanee at WR than we wanted to, with Hartline out, and Chad cut, leaving he and Bess as the only two veteran WRs with any significant amount of experience.

Under that logic Pruitt should have been kept. Can you honestly say Pruitt is worse that Naanee as a receiver? Naanee's body of work from last year is pretty much what he has to stand on and that got him voted the worse starting receiver vote in some media sources.

I realize that Philbin likely highlighting Naanee's block probably means he will be around next week too. But if we see the production we witnessed Sunday next week or in the next few weeks I find it hard to justify keeping him. By the way, Omar in response to the issue of Mr. Invisible said he was nothing more than a scapegoat for the play of the qb.

That is my inOmarKelly RT @GTmarauder: Where is Legadu Naanee at? Dude has been invisible!» Easy to blame everything on the receiver, but it is a crutch. 44 minutes ago · reinterpretation by the way from me. I pereceived this as a Tannehill is at fault thing. I will try to post his exact quote later.

Pruitt played in the slot. I'm not a fan of Naanee, but I think he'd be more effective working in the slot which is something we haven't seen him do.

It is a thought. He needs to do something to justify his starting position, and more so a spot on this team.

I hate to bring it up but this relates to the ol' fashion emperical data debate. I recognized Naanee from the moment he coward away from catching a slant in preseason the very same way I knew who Ginn was the first time I saw him step quickly out of bounds before taking a hit/fighting for more yards. I didn't need numbers to determine character.

The same character that wouldn't take a hit running a slant in preseason is the same character that wouldn't fight a DB for a reception in a real game and when we do finally see Naanee catch one in the open, my money is that if he has the option, he'll step out of bounds.

I don't think he's a starter anymore. At least if the Texans game is any indication. 27 snaps, all but one in the first half. Quick count while watching, could be off, but no more than 2 snaps in the second half. He's been passed by Armstrong and Hartline IMO and I would be surprised If he gets half that many snaps against Oak.
