Wouldn't be logical for Ireland to trade for picks if his job was in jeopardy.

Drafting Tannehill while not seriously addressing the WR position in the same time frame, is like buying a fancy new automatic rifle, but not buying any clips for it, so therefore forcing yourself to use it as a single shot.

It's rather like not buying any ammunition at all and hoping you can bludgeon people to death with it ...

The idea of Ireland being on hot seat is wishful thinking, more than anything. Common sense would tell you the franchise made their evaluation of Ireland just 8 months ago and decided he was worthy of the opportunity without Tuna's handcuffs and Sparano's poor player developement. Just because a bunch of fans are unhappy that we're (still) rebuilding and discarding selfish players specifically, it has zero to do with the guy's job security..... The real point people are missing is : the fact that Carl Peterson has Ross's ear..... actually helps Ireland. If anything he's locked in for the short term with Philbin & Co.

    Brandon Marshall looked great.

Richard Marshall was a complete liability in the secondary.

    Safety play is a disaster.

    WRs are an embarrassment.

Team overall is embarrassingly and shockingly bereft of talent.

    Did I forget anything?

You bet your *** Ireland is on the hot seat. Him getting fired will be the only enjoyable part of this season.

1 of 2 things is occurring. 1 : He survives if Philbin says he does. Philbin is also evaluating him as well. 2. He is safe for this year and at least next year. I doubt Ross will make a change in the middle of Philbin's tenure. If Ross is willing to make that change then Philbin has a pass no matter how much we suck.

Would not have mattered if THill cannot get the ball past the LoS

All on 17? or the Oline had some input to that as well as the receiving corps?

Wr cannot catch a ball that does not make it to them in the first place

And yessir, he wears the hat in this one, if one noticed his pass placement was poor outside of the first qtr.

AA was open on a slant..led him to much, threw behind CC9 etc, he looked like crap D22.

I've been an Ireland supporter but I simply can't support him anymore. This football team is a trainwreck.

I don't care if Ryan Tannehill is a franchise quarterback, I don't trust Ireland as the guy in charge of spending the resources we have this upcoming offseason. If we go 3-13 (I think we will) he should be fired immediately after the season. With the picks we will have, the cap room we will have and a quarterback in place we will have men lining up for this job.

IDK, for me, I'm neutral/lean negative on Ireland, this game however is not a reflection on him but on the new systems and a rookie Qb starting for us.

Now if MMoore were out there and same things were happening, then sure, I'd join the chorus, however at this point I think it is unwarranted.

    DTrain caught a concussion BTW.

If Ross had half a brain, he would fire Ireland tonight.

Now old Padre, you know that is hyperbole. Not all his passes get batted down. A small pct do actually. It is just much larger a pct than most all other QBs.

One major weight hanging around 17's neck, is we replaced a WR with talent like Marshall, with a WR named Naanee. Granted, trading off BM, it wasn't likely we can get an equal talent to take his place, but for fooks sake why go after the worst starting WR in the league last season? Why not address the position in the draft with a little more seriousness?

They got a WR that will fringe on 90 Receptions 1200+ Receiving yards 10+ td and 7 drops for 2 2nd round picks that if we keep Ireland will blow.

yeah, all you guys clammoring for Marshall. How many rough games from Tannehill before Marshall becomes a malcontent, throws RT17 under the bus and starts stomping for Moore? Although talnted, I still say good riddance. Where I DO agree is Ireland failed to address replaciing BM with something even remotely decent. Ocho doesn't count. He's terrible.

Talent like B Marshall doesn't grow on trees not that easy to replace with out investing either massive $$, using a high draft pick, or playing the lottery and finding a hidden gem in the low rounds. We played the lottery and lost so the season is a wash at the wr position now. Still amazed people think were better off without Marshall or vontae.

    On a side note

The one tipped pass where Tannehill basically threw the ball into the defenders helmet for a pick seemed kind of alarming to me though.

So you say its a good thing we got rid of Marshall because of what might of happen LOL. Cmon Marshall would have been excited to have Tannehill. Marshall would have THRIVED in this offense. The fact Ireland didn't think the WR position was a concern speaks volumes at his ineptness as a GM.

Basically Jeff is on the hot seat, but I wouldn't say he is close to being fired. Saying that makes it sound he will be fired in the next few weeks, when in reality he is likely to be fired at the end of the season if the team plays poor. If by some crazy miracle they made the playoffs he won't be fired.
