Running two teams this year in the NFLUK Dolphins fantasy leagues, one of which is a keeper league, and the other is a normal league.

    My keeper team is:
    QB - Russell Wilson
    RB - Willis McGahee
    RB - Fred Jackson
    WR - Victor Cruz
    WR - Vincent Jackson
    TE - Antonio Gates
    W/R - DeAngelo Williams
    K - Stephen Gostkowski
    DEF - Buffalo Bills

Bench: QB - Fitzpatrick, RB - Mike Tolbert, WR - Danny Amendola, WR - Davonne Bess, TE - Ed Dickson, and K - Josh Scobee.

    My main team is:

    QB - Cam Newton
    RB - DeAngelo Williams
    RB - Shonn Greene
    WR - Steve Johnson
    WR - Malcolm Floyd
    WR - Justin Blackmon
    TE - Dustin Keller
    K - Stephen Gostkowski
    DEF - 49ers

Bench: QB - Andy Dalton, RB - Maurice Jones-Drew, WR - Michael Crabtree, WR - David Nelson, TE - Jason Witten, and K - Matt Bryant.

Overall quite happy with both teams, however in the latter of those two teams I am unsure whether Jones-Drew and Witten were sensible choices based on their current status and fitness with their respective teams.

what you guys think? One owner wants to trade me Michael Turner for Brandon Lloyd and Olson. I know it's a steal on my part but I had Turner last year and it pissed me off because now Atlanta passes so much an I think this might be Greenes year.

Thats a solid team but you need a better D imo. Id probably dump Baldwin for a good week one matchup defensively and rotate that D accordingly. I think Olsen could be sneaky good this year...last year he and Shockey combined for over 1000 yards and now Shockey is gone.

Id probably pass on the Turner deal since theyre trying to give Jacquizz Rogers a bigger role and because I think Olsen is actually your best TE. I think you should probably try and package Mendenhall and and Greene for a RB2 upgrade to a team that needs more backs.

Thanks for the feedback.Yeah I took a Defense with my last pick, so I'm just gonna' go week to week looking for the best match ups. I agree I think Olsen is gonna be the 2nd option for Cam, I am trying to trade Pettegrew to this kid for bradshaw because he has a bum as his starter and Bradshaw is on his bench.

Yeah Vick wasnt my first choice. The way the board stacked up I figured 7 players for should would be gone by 10...Rice, Foster, McCoy, Megatron, brady, brees, and Rodgers in no particular order. Someone reached for Stafford at 7 ahead of Calvin. 2 others wanted Chris Johnson and McFadden ahead of Megatron. So I orginally planned to go either Forte/CJ2K /McFadden at 10 and one from Jackson/Charles at 15 then QB at the top of round 3 since the order flips in this league like the Fantasy Football Championships. When Megatron was there I scrapped that and I had a gut feeling Jackson or Doug Martin would make it to 27. Fisher gave Eddie George 390 touches during his age 29 season so I wanted Jackson based on that and Fishers heavy run tendencies. Then I took Pead late as a handcuff.

I hate drafting Vick because I hate the Eagles (I hate all Philly teams) and because he misses games every year but every fantasy football player knows hes gold in these leagues in most years. He had a bad year by his standards last year but with Jackson happy and Maclin healthy I think he will give Newton like production at a much lower draft slot. Plus Im buying Joe Flacco in Cam Camerons offense. I wanted him with Torrey Smith. I had a chance to take Cutler as my backup but A) I didnt want this team to look like the other team I drafted and B) I felt Blackmon would be a great WR 4 option for bye weeks and those options were dwindling quick

Solid draft, I can't believe you got Megatron at 10. If maybe you held off on Vick in the 4th a grabbed another Solid receiver then took a QB next you'd be sitting a little better at receiver. But I do like the Vick to Maclin connection. And I think Antonio is gonna have a great year as well.

i wanted to hold off but by the time i took vick 6 qbs went and the guy after me was swearing cause i took vick so he was going to take him next. He took peyton instead. I could have held out and probably got romo in the 6gh but i dont want romo in both my pay leagues.

12 team keeper league, non-ppr, huge bonuses for passing yards, 2 pts per 10 yards rushing, everything else standard -

    Round / player
    1. Drew Brees - Keeper
    2. Julio Jones
3a. Antonio Gates (extra pick acquired in offseason deal)
    3b. Marques Colston
    4. Percy Harvin
    6. Reggie Bush
    7. Mark Ingram
    8. Ryan Williams
    9. Jonathan Stewart
    10. Demarius Thomas - Keeper
    11. Ravens DST
    12. Jacob Tamme
    13. Danny Amendola
    14. David Akers
    15. Rod Streater
    16. Chargers DST
    17. Robbie Gould
    18. Russell Wilson

    QB: Drew Brees, Russell Wilson
RB: Reggie Bush, Mark Ingram, Ryan Williams, Jonathan Stewart
WR: Julio Jones, Marques Colston, Percy Harvin, Demarius Thomas, Danny Amendola, Rod Streater
    TE: Antonio Gates, Jacob Tamme
    K: David Akers, Robbie Gould
    DST: Ravens, Chargers

I manage this team with a friend in a big $$$ league. Weak at RB. Just the way the draft shook out. All our targets were taken before our picks and the value wasn't there with any of our first 4 picks. It came down to Percy Harvin or Shonn Green in the 4th and we opted for another quality WR than risk starting a member of the Jets offense. I like Reggie better and we were able to wait till the 6th to get him. I hate homering out in fantasy but it was my Raider fan buddy who insisted we take him there. Just hoping one of the other guys with upside pans out. We really like Ryan Williams this year. I'm also thinking we'll be in a position to trade one of our 4 top WRs for a RB once the season is underway. Our bonuses for passing yards are designed in such a way that Drew Brees can win games by himself so I think we put enough talent around him to be very competitive once again.

That is a solid team. Vick will always come with injury concerns, but Flacco is good insurance. I think Greg Olsen will have a break out year as well with the departure of Shockey. One thing I realized that you did, and somehting I neglected (which you will see in a future post) is take DST. I waited until the end (I am still kind of green, only have 3 drafts under my belt) and that now forces me to play a weekly matchup game.

Was just going to say you were a little weak at RB. Ingram sharing snaps with P.Thomas and Sproles, although the Saints have mentioned they want to get Ingram more reps. Reggie will be great if he stays healthy, especially in a PPR - I envision a lot of screens in MIA. Ryan Williams should be a baller, like that pick. I would try to move Percy (underrated in PPR leagues due to concussions, but can light it up this year) for RB insurance.

12 Team PPR Keeper League - $250 entry.

    QB:
    Romo, Tony
    Wilson, Russell

    RB:
    McCoy, LeSean [keeper]
    Mathews, Ryan [keeper]
    Bush, Reggie
    Bush, Michael
    Goodson, Mike

    WR:
    Jones, Julio [keeper]
    Bowe, Dwayne
    Decker, Eric
    Williams, Mike
    Floyd, Malcom
    Gordon, Josh
    Washington, Nate
    Baldwin, Jon

    TE:
    Finley, Jermichael
    Rudolph, Kyle

    K/SDT:
    Chiefs
    Bailey, Dan

    Notes:
    - First round I had to take a WR (White, Marshall, Fitz best options) or top RB - I went with Reggie Bush over Sproles, as I knew there was more value at WR lower in the draft
    - Neglected DST/K and realized a little late in the draft that pick ups/ free agents begins WK2 or something, so I have the chiefs. I just kept drafting for gems at WR and back up RBs to try and get good value. Totally devalued DST I think, and I will be adding/dropping every week based on matchups.
    - I really like my WRs. Can you believe in a keeper Eric Decker lasted until the end of round 4?
    - I kind of reached on Jermichael Finley by taking him in round 3.
    - Took a R13 flier on Josh Gordon. Wanted him to see if he will become Weeden's main target as I suspect.

I am kind of happy with this draft, but for some reason I think I am missing something...

Im actually calling Ryan Williams and Mark Ingram the two breakout backs for this year so I like those picks but I am down on Bush because I think teams are going to gameplan for him since Miami doesnt really have much else. That and having two good young talented backs behind him in Thomas and Miller, even if Thomas lacks some swag, imo will pull down Bush's numbers especially in a non-ppr format. Thomas is an injury risk who finished the second half of last year as the #2 fantasy receiver but Im not buying him with Mannings diminished arm strength and the fact Thomas does not run a full route tree. Id package him and Bush if I could for a better back...Steven Jackson is one guy Im very bullish on because Fisher gave Eddie George 390 touches in his age 29 season...hes going to ride Jackson imo.

Also Im selling on Baltimore being a top D again. Theyre a matchup based team imo. They play Cleveland..great start them. They play a team with actual firepower theyre a bench D. Suggs being out kills their pass rush and Im buying this year as the year Reed starts to decline at a quicker pace. They could be trade bait though.
Weekly matchups on D are tricky. What I typically do is draft 1 good D and then use another spot on a matchup based D so if I dont like who my Houston/SF/Pitt whoever is playing then I'll find whoever is playing a matchup I like better. Its a tough way to to do things though which is why I changed things up this year and just took 2 good D's.

You'll regret going Bush over Sproles imo in a PPR format. I actually do like the KC D. They have Oakland and a diminished SD team in their division and they are my pick to win the AFCW. Decker in rd 4 is theft in a PPR league. Manning should make him a star. Round 3 in a 3 keeper league is round 6 in reality. Finley is my 4th ranked TE after Graham, Gates and Gronk in that order. Not a bad pick at all. Gordon could end up like a DeSean Jackson...better in real life then fantasy because he wont get a ton of catches but the ones he could get will go far imo. Someone will try and get Nate Washington for week 1 when Britt is out. Use it to your advantage.

I took Bush over Sproles due to the fact that Ingram will be a focal point of their offense, and Sproles will onnly be getting 8-10 touches a game. Granted, he takes them for big time yardage, but I figured that the better option is Bush. We will see. I am trying to move a WR for a starting RB, may package Reggie in there with a WR to get someone better.

I figured the KC D was my best choice available for the reasons you mentioned, plus the fact that they have a lot of individual playmakers on D including Berry and Flowers, and a D Line stacked with top draft picks.

Yeah, my thought is to trade D. Thomas for a RB. Health is the key there. But if he could produce with Tim Tebow throwing him the ball, he should do fine with even a less than full strength Peyton Manning. It seems every other year people get down on Baltimore's D but they always produce. I understand they have some injuries, but I think someone steps up and fills in just fine. If their offense is better as many expect, that will only help the D.

I tend to agree with your critique on Bush, but I hope he can continue to prove me wrong and pick up right where he left off last year. He should be a safe start just from the amount of touches he'll get if he can stay healthy. Simply put, he was hands down the best RB on the board when we finally picked one. I'd like a much better RB1, but until/unless we can pull off a trade or one of our upside guys hits, we're stuck. With our league scoring Drew Brees has been known to have 60 - 90 point days. I'm hoping he can mask our weakness at the position and cash in on combo points from Marques. The guy picking in front of us took Jimmy Graham with the #7 overall pick in the draft just to prevent us from getting that hook up going. Julio Jones was a phenomenal consolation prize though...

Yea man your kinda screwed at RB, I don't like the move for a TE that high. You should of went RB with your 3rd because you get 2 pts per 10 yds or before Marques because I think Thomas is a good #3.

Well, you're dead on about the RB scoring. It's a critique my drafting strategy earns from other owners in my league all the time, but more often than not I finish in the money. The thing is, even with the scoring, WR is never a position as deep as it looks and RB is always much deeper. Because of roster limits in our league, I can always trade for a RB or better yet, find one on waivers. We have a waiver wire that doesn't reset so I can perch myself atop it and just wait for the breakout RB who wasn't drafted to come free.

I should also point out the fact that none of the Redskins RBs were drafted. I'm thinking one of those once established will fill my need. Also, I've always found a lot of value in the very few tight ends that score as many points as some of the top WRs. If Antonio Gates truly is healthy, who else is Phil Rivers throwing to this year?

LOL, funny story buh...Steve Smith and Nicks were both questionable in 1 league so I pick up Amendola as a reserve after someone dumped him last week. left him on the bench, lost by 15 (other guy had an insane week)..Amendola would have won me the week by 15 if I benched Smith for him. FML. When youre right youre right

How do you have such a crappy 2nd RB in a 10 person league?

Its all good, I believe he could lead the NFL in receptions, or atleast be near the top.

    Get off my lawn.
Just had to laugh about this one... a friend ended up cutting Chris Johnson cause he got sick of him and now I'm sitting with the following RBs and players in a PPR:

    QB: Michael Vick, Josh Freeman
2x RB: Arian Foster, Matt Forte, Chris Johnson, Doug Martin, Donald Brown, Jon Stewart
2xWR: AJ Green, Julio Jones, Demaryius Thomas, Steve Johnson
    TE: Dennis Pitta, Kyle Rudolph
    1x Flex

Thinking I should move Martin or Johnson and Vick for an upgrade.... suggestions?
