Fan heckles Jeff Ireland at the game, Jeff calls him an a-hole

I swear to god it wasn't me...

 

My money is on Firesole or Skeet.

 

Good for Jeffy... Love him or hate him, none of us 'fans' are qualified to tell him how to do his job...and while Sean's demeanor via the radio reciting the incident sounds as though he were gentlemanly, we really don't know what tone he took when talking to Jeffy... It's his right, and our right to have our own opinion, but too often our opinion's get transmitted in a sh#$y fashion which might have ticked Ireland off ( and rightly so)....

 

This was hilarious on both parties.

Right, which is why I said the team should be providing security. I don't really blame the fan.

 

Seriously, this is a huge opportunity for the Dolphins.

I used to be in PR and opportunities like this are amazing. I'd advise them to see Sean as the face of every disgruntled fan and go way above and beyond to embrace him publicly.

I'm talking about a Beer Summit type of show for the public. Make him Ireland's personal guest for a day and sit down with him.

This guy is Joe the Plumber. He represents the average disgruntled season ticket holder.

You show the fans that Sean has been convinced to love this club again, it goes a long way with the fan base. And costs next to nothing.

 

Then Sean and Irish get into a real fight after having said beer...

 

Not a bad idea, but what the Dolphins really needed was just for Ireland to fade into the background while we (hopefully) started winning.

 

And Sean just happened to be listening to a radio show where other people were talking about an incident involving him? The whole radio thing sounds staged.

 

Or a friend called/texted him and informed him they were talking about the incident.

The first thing they should do is ask Sean how he felt about the second half.

 

Or they could ask him about the last 4 years or the first game.

How is Ireland validated by one half of football two games into a season?

 

It's less about validating Ireland and more about making ******* Sean defend himself.

 

Sean isn't paid millions of dollars to run the football team. He doesn't have to defend a single thing.

This story has been reported on NFL.com. IF........Ross is even THINKING about letting Ireland go, This could be it. It IS a bad PR move, from Ireland. Ross wants seats filled........

 

After reading all the facts I will have to say the best thing would be for Ireland to live above reproach and walk away without saying anything. But I can't blame him for saying what he said. Both people are entitled to their opinions and both people live in a free country with free speech. I think both people were out of line but I don't think its a big issue.

 

Personally, I don't see what the big deal is, other than some guy being a ******* and making a scene in front of a large group of people. The fact that he's embarrassed by his own actions says it all.

So Jeff Ireland called him an *******. BFD. That's exactly what he was being and I'm glad Jeff isn't apologizing to the guy, just regretting that it happened. And if the Dolphins reward this guy in any way, they're a joke.

I'll never understand the 'I pay money, so I can misbehave and/or subject anyone to whatever I wish' mentality. You may not agree with his moves and whatnot, but I defy anyone to assert that he doesn't care or isn't busting his *** trying.

Imagine if JI were your brother, son, dad, etc. I'll bet you're reaction to this situation would be, "what an *******".

 

Right, he just has to be an *******. That's his only task in life.

I'm not a fan of Ireland, but I give him a plus on this one.

 

I don't think this is a bad PR move at all because 75% or more of the fans would probably side with Ireland and feel like the fan deserved it.

If you're among the people who have a strong distaste for Ireland for whatever reason, I think you have to refrain from projecting your sentiment onto the average fan to determine how he or she would really feel about this.

 

Im not a huge fan of Ireland, but I give him credit. Fan deserved it IMO.

 

This whole to-do reads like stand-up shtick: "I don't get the fuss over Jeff Ireland's personnel evaluations. His scouting report of 'Sean' sounded spot on to me! *drum shot* Oh yeah? I'm here all week. Try the Phish (...a-holes!)"

Heaven knows, I'm no Ireland fan, but WTF gives someone the right to get in his face at work? Not included in the price of your ticket.
