That's not too bad, considering someone said he loves our fans.

Anyone remember Tom Olivodatti and Gary Stevens drinking in the hotel bar together in opposing cities.
I did and I stayed away from it. Took the high road.

So, Ireland gets heckled and likely called every name under the Sun. He responds by calling the guy an "*******" and then the guy goes whining to the media? When is he going to sue?

    **** off with this rubbish.

Hell they could have said nothing. Props to at least acknowledging it.

God knows I would have dismissed it cause lets face it........who here would have believed Ireland would converse with a fan ;p

Did Ireland even do anything ? your basically going off the words of the one moron looking to cause a ruccus. WE are officially the most pathetic fanbase in the league thanks to idiots like "Sean".

Jeff Ireland publicly confirmed he called the fan an "*******" as he walked away.

I guess the guy has now been called not only an *******, but a moron.

I get the feeling you didn't dig deep into the details here, UT. Apparently there was no name calling by the fan. He actually was apprently not drunk, and let ireland know the specific roster moves he disagreed with. This wasn;t a pissed-up knuckle-dragger. It WAS a fan who was pissed OFF at halftime of the game. The guy even says he regretted suggesting Ireland fire himself. That to me was the one 'crossing the line' moment of talking to Ireland face to face. But in no way is that the same as calling out foul names at Ireland.

I wouldn;t be surprised though if OTHER fans around were heckling Ireland more harshly, which may have led to Ireland's reaction.

I'm not saying the guy was right to cross the line. I am saying that it's inaccurate to assume he was calling Ireland names (though you may have meant the other people who were calling Ireland names).

It's also innacurate to say the guy went looking to whine to the media. It's not like he approached the media the rest of Sunday.
    Or first thing Monday either.

It was only after droves of fans were reporting the incident that the guy came forward and clarified what actually happened. The fact that he expressed some regret over going too far himself makes me question labelling him as a whiner. He admits he was frustrated, unfortunately. That sort of acnknowledgement that he is partly to blame doesn't sound like the kind of guy many are making this fan out to be.

If anything, both he AND Ireland went too far.

The bottom line is that in my opinion no fan has the right to walk up to an executive and voice their displeasure. There is absolutely no win in the situation. Was Ireland going to "see the light" or something? There are mediums to show you are unhappy with a teams direction. I never knew the perks of Club Level seating included voicing your opinion on how the team should be run....

This is flat-out BS. Bob Kraft used to drive around the tailgate area in New England and talk to fans before games. He took some ****, too. (this was before the team started winning Super Bowls). Fans have a right to say/do anything they want as long as they do it in a calm, non-threatening manner. The fan didn't use profanity and wasn't confrontational in a violent sense.

Not saying I would've done what this guy did, but to say someone doesn't have a right is laughable.

Honestly, it's stupid that fans would take out a banner with one of the, if not THE most embarrassing and classless moments of Dolphins fandom involving one.

Totally agree. Unless that fella Sean walked into Ireland's private box in Club Level, and is just seeing him in the public or common area, he has every right to voice his opinion, just like Ireland has the right to call him an *** hole.

I find it amusing that this makes us "the worst fan base" as well.
Where do people get this crap?

Have they listened to NY fans ever before? That group wouldn't wait to run into Ireland and comment negatively to him, they would follow him around town to harrass him on a regular basis.

its just butt hurt Ireland supporters mad that someone had the balls to bash their boo to his face.

Ireland has to remain professional in this situation, does he think he's the first GM to be heckled by fans? lol he has to be the most naive executive in the league if he thought there wouldn't be some fans who wouldn't hesitate to rip him in public if given the chance.
