#filmstudy Tannehill This dude has an enormously high ceiling! Sudden stroke, gr8 feet, 2nd reaction accuracy, quick eyes & precise accuracy"

There are others about his first two games that are just as good, says the only weakness is in the tight redone area..

Say what you want about Dilfer, I have'nt done a study on his record, but at least he watches the tape..

I don't have an opinion on Dilfer but I'd generally agree with that analysis though it sounds generic. I wouldn't agree with the redzone part. We haven't seen enough of it to judge.

Dilfer has been one of Tannehill's biggest fans since camp started. He's always glowing about him.

Dilfer has ulterior motive. He wants to get close to Lauren......

    (But who wouldn't?)

The thing with Dilfer is that if he says something negative, it's "Well what the **** does he know, he was a ****ty QB on a great team." if he says something positive, people eat it up lol

I tend to think Dilfer has pretty decent acumen in analyzing QBs. So far, aside from the surreal couple minutes of tipped passes at Houston, I think Tannehill's accuracy and decision-making has been excellent for a rookie signal caller. It's nice to hear a guy that watches QBs regularly have some glowing remarks about Tanny. Confirms what most of us are seeing.

For whatever reason I haven't heard anything bad about any of the rookies from just about anyone. There's some people hoping for failure, sure, but nobody putting them down consistently. This may end up being one of the best qb drafts in years.

We'll see though, that's wayyyyyyyy down the line yet

I still can't get past thinking we have a QB. The kid does many things well.
Poise seems to be the huge criteria. Other than that meltdown in two minutes in Houston. Which is on Sherman, the development has been good.
    Ryan has handled it well.
My gal called him Dannyhill on Sunday. It's a little early for that.:jt0323:

I'll go get another one, lol

I honestly chalk the less than spectacular redzone play up to the lack of redzone playmakers.

Funny, I always thought Dilfer was slightly negative about the DOlphins when I'd see him discuss us. If I am recollecting right then his praise of Tannehill is even more noteworthy.

It certainly is refreshing to have a rookie QB with his confidence and leadership skills as the face of this once-proud franchise. It was embarrassing to learn that Jake Long was team Captain when Henne was at the helm. I'm sure Tannehill will take the "C" back where it belongs in short order. Regardless, the kid gives me hope and that's something I haven't felt with the Fins in a long time.

It wasnt all praise .He did mention he hangs on to the football too long.

BTW just because he wasnt a great QB doesnt mean he is not a good QB evaluator.Don Shula was an average DB but he was a great coach.

I think in the redzone, the Dolphins coaching staff is going to have to bite the bullet and let him use his feet. CK put up some stats around draft time that showed Tannehill was one of the higher percentage quarterbacks in the draft at coverting scores in the redzone, and a lot of that is because he is a weapon with his feet as well as with his arm.

In those tight quarters of the redzone, Miami needs to start using the numbers advantage that having a quarterback that can make plays with his feet gives them. Throw some zone read and inverted veer into the playbook and give yourself that extra blocker in the redzone.

I still don't like Dilfer. But then again the list of commentators I do like is really small. But I still don't like him.

I read these too and they're certainly encouraging. He's handling himself pretty well to this point. Really nice to know that this is the floor for him. He's going to get better.

This QB class -- early -- could indeed be one of the greats.

That pretty much goes for anybody with a microphone and/or a TV camera. Fans have a hard time accepting criticism.

What's funny is they'll dismiss someone's opinion because they weren't a Hall of Fame caliber player. If that's the criteria, what qualifies you to do anything but drool and stare at the TV?

Saw that too. Jesse Agler shared that. Means Tannehill was leading a room of 18.

Trent Dilfer was never Peyton Manning but I think in terms of being a student of the game, he's one of the better minds we have seen as an analyst.

Of all the "analysts" at ESPN, I respect Dilfer and Jaws the most. Generally well thought out and studied opinions. I dont always agree with them about the Fins and others, but at least they have a reason for what they say, and arent just talking to say something outlandish.

I think they need to run him on some QB draws from time to time so at least in the red zone an LB will have to stay at home instead of roaming around in coverage and compressing things against the passing game. Robert Griffin scored an easy TD in the red zone this way last week.
