Because it's worthy of it's own thread and frankly this is the only shot we have to win games this season with Reggie on the field. Hoping for a strained MCL.
It was difficult to see because of the angle. That being said, his knee didn't appear bend at an unnatural angle, it didn't appear to just give (ex. Revis). Perhaps he landed on the knee cap? Maybe a sprain? Those would be my guesses.
Looked like he took a shot from a helmet to the knee. Thinking a simple bruised knee...hoping... Sent from my iPhone
No I didn't see any good angle of the play. The endzone camera showed Reggie being wrapped up by two jets, and then Landy hit him helmet to helmet, and slid down to his knee, but it didn't look like hard contact on the replay.. Laron Landy didn't "submarine" him. Get a clue kid. Mod: personal content deleted
One of the beat guys said he was fine and would go for a test Monday to confirm. Hopefully it's nothing serious. We need him.
He had a lot of swelling and couldnt get it stretched out, MRI tomorrow to confirm no structural damage, X-rays negative
looks like we escaped the game without any other injuries as well. Big game next week in Arizona. Their defense is top 5. We need Bush to have any chance at all.
Thanks...whats the normal treatment and expectations? are there levels to the severity of the bruise?
I think Bush will be good to go next week. He's playing on an entirely different level than both Lamar Miller and Thomas right now. Cards are no joke this year so far...Lets get a win.
From the film I saw, it is most likely a deep bruise to a bruised bone. There wasn't any twisting of the knee or anything. It was a straight on shot of Landry's helmet and the top of Bush's knee area. It wasn't a direct hit to his knee cap, but above it. More like very lower top of the thigh, where the quadriceps ligament attaches to the knee. Hurts like hell though, I am sure.
Bush's injury seems to come as he planted before the impact of #33 to the knee. I thought I saw one of the staff doing the Lachman to his knee. This test is used to determine ACL integrity. I suspect the medical staff determined his injury not serious enough to keep him out if he considered coming back. We'll just have to wait on the MRI report......
I'm not qualified to say but we did see him trying to push off on a trainer and he was riding the bike. If it is an ACL injury I'll eat the chair I'm sitting on.
Adam shefter tweeted what everyone else has already said but he also said the team said its not serious. I think he will be ready to go for the Cardinals.
IMEO, he probably has some real bad swelling around his quadriceps tendon or VMO. I dont know this but maybe his knee cap subluxed, which is painful in itself, but it also causes lots of swelling in the knee joint. Stiffness is a concern so im thinking Philbin and Trainers didnt want to risk further injury, the field was slippery and when the muscle has been compromised it can lead to weakness in the joint. EDIT: I was told "bruised knee", but i just watched the tape about 5 times and to me it looked like his knee buckled. Not the type of ACL buckle, but i wouldnt rule it out...Lets see what MRI says tomorrow.
Yah NFL.com had a good view of it. Looks like he planted...couldn't move it anywhere cause of players falling. Turns the leg just slightly as the helmet hits.
well there is no need really to risk him before he is ready, if they just would give lamar miller the ball more we would be in good shape
Did anyone else notice the Jets player that clapped after getting out of the pile? Seemed to me like they were gunning for Reggie and were happy about it. I mean who the hell claps after making a tackle with under 30 seconds to go in the half after a 2 yard gain to run the clock out? My hatred for the Jets after this game just increased 10fold.
I noticed that too, clearly the Jets D were in a mission to hurt Bush, no doubt in my mind. More I'm thinking about our Division, I see New England first and for the second place us or the Bills, the Jets are seriously the worst team.
Toss this one into the reason for rivalry pile. Expect some payback in the Jest home game. Hearing Reggie B dodged serious injury per Volin
But Miami fears he might miss a few weeks - http://blogs.palmbeachpost.com/thed...-miami-dolphins-fear-he-could-miss-some-time/
Yeah, #30 Landry came out clapping, but hard to know specific intent, as it was his tackle that slid down to the knee, but the slight twisting just prior to that could have caused it too. NFL.com has the video of the injury, and it shows the clapping.....sounds like it could be some time off till the bye-week but am sure Reggie Bush will work hard to get back as soon as possible.
Well it could have been worse if indeed is just a few games. Unfortunately I don't see us winning any of those games, not with the current offensive personnel. And then there's Mike Florio seemingly gloating about the injury. What a douchebag. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...-bush-could-miss-a-few-weeks/#comment-2016538 Nice of him to predict injury over and over. Of course I let him have it in the comments section which will likely be edited out.
Revis out for season with Torn ACL.....glad Reggie has the likelyhood of returning following some rest.
that really sucks regardless of the team you HATE to see anything like this happen to players....sucks...
