Good friend of mine is a die hard Carolina fan...He was glad to see Nannee go too. I hope he's axed soon..Good blocker and thats it. Give Mathews, Fuller a shot or sign a vet. ANYONE is a better option than him at this point.

Rishard Matthews has to be thinking to himself how bad he must be to still be below Naanee on the depth chart.

how awesome would it be if a beat guy asked "Why is Legedu Nannee still on this roster?" during the coach's press conference?! I would give the guy mad props, even if it was Omar (which would never happen knowing his love-blindness) but still

Everyone says at least he can block. I don't see that. If he would of blocked his guy he would have sprung bush early in the game. Instead bush got stopped for 11, could've easily been a 30+ gain.

It is just unbelievable that this guy is still on the roster. If he remains on the roster this week - or gets any PT, I'll have lost more confidence in the FO's ability to make the right choices and admit they made a mistake.

He is a veteran with zero productivity in 4 games. 1 catch, 19 yds and a fumble. That's just ridiculous. Send a message. Let one of the the other WR's, like Armstrong, take his place. Or just cut him.

The message sending time is over I believe for Naanee. He is as much a fringe receiver as Omar says Matthews is. Naanee simply does not belong on an NFL roster and I am not clear on why Sherman, Philbin, and to a lesser extent, Ireland, want him on the team. It is evident he is not targeted by Tannehill because he doesn't get much separation and can't catch the ball well, two skills Philbin has identified as critical for his receivers.

good blocker? i guess. Anyone remember the reggie bush run where Nanee was standing there watching 2 ****ing cardinals defenders? Of course one of them stopped him.....if nanee engages one of them, reggie has a good chance one on one. Hes a joke.

I don't want to sound prone to exaggeration but I literally cannot remember a wide receiver that was supposed to be a blocking specialist that was as consistently bad at blocking as him. None come to mind.

Given that you watch guys pretty closely and review film, then please enlighten us on why he is still on this roster. His level of performance is defended by the offensive coordinator saying he isn't being targeted and it is not his fault. What? There is some kind of thinking going on here beyond most of what we are thinking? Even Omar is off his bandwagon on Naanee. I don't get it. You can't tell me there are not better options out there other than Naanee.

I'm at a complete loss as for why he's still on the roster.

I think the assumption you're making, which is a poor one, is that he's on the roster for football reasons. I don't think that's the case at all. I think he's on roster out of sheer stubbornness on the part of the front office, as well as the coaches.

If I recall correctly, this is about the time in the yr that Davone Bess made the lineup replacing Wilford.

Bad Luck Legedu is just a bad football player, cut our losses, choose between Matthews or Armstrong or Marlon Moore and move forward with bad luck going to the inactive list.

If that is the reason (stubborness), then that causes me more concern than Naanee being on the roster. That is just sad and detrimental to the good of the team. Would it be wrong of me to assume that you feel the team is also stubborn about Thomas?

In some ways yes but it's not nearly as pronounced. With Daniel Thomas' size and speed combination I can see how pretty much any coach out there would look at him, look at Reggie Bush, and say OK this guy fits as our power guy. He keeps showing how misguided that is but this staff was not here a year ago and I'm sure they decided that what a guy failed to do while they weren't coaching him is probably irrelevant. I can even see continuing to give him chances after the first fumble against the Texans. It's one fumble. It happens. But then against the Jets when he fumbled again and they stuck with him, even with Lamar Miller's miscues, to stick with him the rest of the game and again this game, that was a little bit of stubbornness. Still, it wasn't egregious...because I could see convincing yourself that Daniel is such a good blocker he has his place. Except that in my opinion when you have poor instincts and vision, that's likely to bleed across your entire game as a football player, no matter what you're supposedly good at or bad at. Still, I could see people disagreeing with me on that.

At THIS point, with Jorvorskie Lane now a proven short yardage tailback (important, he took the carries as a tailback not an upback), and with Daniel Thomas now showing that his poor instincts and vision can also lead to blocking miscues such as what we saw in overtime which led to Tannehill's interception, to continue going with him would be stubbornness IMO. And yeah it would be concerning.

With Legedu Naanee, we passed that point two games ago. That's the difference.

    Legedu Naanee this season:

    1 Reception
    1 Fumble
3 Tackles. 1 of which came on the play he fumbled.

This needs to happen this week. This is beyond crazy at this point to have this worthless worm on our team. Gets a chance at one ball this season and then turns the ball over...what a joke.

The two guys I've been railing about most for being the worst players on the field, based on the All-22 tape, blow two critical plays. Legedu Naanee lets the ball spill out of his hands for no reason and gives the Cards the chance to put us away, although Sean Smith bailed us out. Then in overtime Daniel Thomas picks up the wrong person in the blitz protection scheme and this results in a Tannehill interception.

You can't treat the decision of who to put on the field lightly. Putting bad football players on the field will eventually bite you in the ***, no matter how minor you think their roles are. Every snap dished out to any player is valuable and not to be wasted.

And that may go for Charles Clay as well. I'm not convinced he's a bad player but he's clearly going through a bad patch right now, and he's in that same position where putting him on the field could prove costly as well.

It takes a leap of faith because for whatever reason they don't seem to believe their replacements (Rishard Matthews, Lamar Miller, Michael Egnew) are ready to step up and play mistake-free football. But you lose nothing by finding out, because the guys ahead of them aren't playing mistake-free football either.

What is going on with Matthews and Egnew? You'd think they'd have seen the field by now. How many bonehead plays does it take for the rooks to get some PT?

It's been 4 games. The only reason I feel urgent about it is just because the guys ahead of them continue to botch plays. Charles Clay if I'm not mistaken failed to hang onto a touchdown against the Cardinals and of course Legedu Naanee is Legedu Naanee. Otherwise I wouldn't panic at all if Matthews and Egnew were held out for the first 8 games.

Also, Charles Clay is a better lead blocker than Egnew as an H-Back. Some of the most disastrous blocks Egnew tried to throw this preseason were when he lined up as an upback or H-Back. That's one complicating factor.

But Jesse Agler pointed out that Egnew is out on the field working with Dan Campbell prior to every single game. He's trying to get better. It's been a month since we last saw him in preseason or Hard Knocks and I thought he was a better blocker in that final preseason game than I've ever seen before. Maybe he's made even more progress. Hard to tell when you don't activate him.

I don't trust Omar Kelly to tell me whether he has or hasn't. Same with Rishard Matthews. I'm not trying to be mean to him but the man seems stubborn and dug-in, and he kept raving about Legedu Naanee (e.g., Legedu has "no holes" in his game). Objectively, I think the receiver position is the one that stumps him the most.

I hope Philbin is getting to the point where he is sick of Naanee and Clay's dropped passes. It really is maddening how Clay has seemingly regressed this season too. I was excited to have him and Fasano out there together since both can catch the ball well (I thought), but Clay has just dropped a giant goose egg this season. Egnew was a monster at Mizzou- I would love to see him get his shot sooner than later.

From what I can tell, this staff has no patience with players who don't have a complete grasp on the offense to where they can make adjustments at the line easily and operate in the huddle-less environment. Rishard Matthews kept making plays literally every time they put him in during the preseason, yet he stays on the bench. Why? Doesn't have a firm grasp on the offense. Lamar Miller keeps making plays, but he's on the bench. Why? Not a firm grasp of the offense. Michael Egnew, same thing...except where that's concerned, they have a tough call because Charles Clay also doesn't have a good grasp on things.

What I'm getting at is, it's possible that Clay's not having a firm grasp of the offense may be what is causing under performance, and they may therefore be somewhat justified in their discomfort with younger players that aren't getting it as thoroughly.

But I would argue that if that's the case you need to adjust your offense a little bit to make things easier on some of those guys so you can get the best talent out on the field making plays.

There is a very strong chance this is a bogus tweet, but here is what is being reported (once again likely bogus): Barry Jackson ‏@SportsBuzzMiami
