Let's see how he bounces back in Cincy. Are they as good as last year? Look at their wins - Browns, Redskins, Jaguars. Blown out by Ravens. After these two awful losses, the entire team including Tannehill needs a big game against the Bengals if they want to prove anything.
All I could think during this game was that we got to get him more targets. Jabar would have been real helpful as a 3rd option. Really this offense is just 1 WR and a pass catch first TE from getting this offense over the hump. There was at least 3 throws today that we know for sure Henne could not have made. Get a guy who can work the middle for Tammy would be huge.
Any reaction to a rookie qb, and anointing anything after a single game is crazy. We had our franchise qb since week 1. He's gonna have good games, he's gonna have bad games...his entire career. All expectations and reactions should be tempered with a rookie though. Just like the threads about Moore starting, or T-hill not being our guy, after last week were ridiculous. He's not gonna throw for 300 or 400 yards every week. Hopefully he doesn't throw multiple picks every week either. If you want to declare one thing, its that he is already better than Sanchez.
Of course but did you see BH's numbers. That wasn't supposed to happen ever but it did. Remember he is a #3 at best. That was the going idea anyway. Tannehill had control of the O today. I could give two ****s about the Jets QB. Ryan has it. I'll say it right now.
Not annointing anything yet, BUT I do love what I see. Was thrilled when he was drafted and thrilled now. I remember being psyched about Henne. The difference between the 2 is I always HOPED to see Henne's potential. I already see it with Tannehill. He's confident. Comfortable. And he's showing he can be a leader. He's got it and I look forward to seeing his continued developement. For the first time in a loooooooong time I feel that draft day, QB won't be an issue.
The most exciting thing to me is that he gets better every game. It's like he matures a little more each week.
He's got to get that TD/INT ratio on the right side of 1 before we can call him a franchise QB. A QB can throw for all the yards in the world but if there are more turnovers than TDs we're still not going to win games. I'm not even concerned about this season's total TD/INT ratio. He just needs to focus on keeping it positive in each game going forward. He does that and the wins will come. And I agree with your optimism. He looked phenomenal, especially considering it was his 4th NFL game.
