What's your guys' key to victory for Sunday's game against the Bungles??

I think one of the biggest keys is to quell their pass rush; they're statistically best in the league this year at getting to the quarterback.

On defense we have to stop Dalton and his gang, or it will be a long day!

    Thoughts?

Yea that would be ideal. I just think if we can pass protect, as good as Ryan was last week he could have a big day. I know their secondary is a bit depleted so they are definately vulnerable!

On defense take the gameplan from last week, cross out Fitzgerald and type Green.

On offense, kiss it simple and avoid TO's. The Bengals are bigger than AZ but nowhere near as quick or adept with their blitz schemes. Force them to over commit to the run then take advantage.

And don't miss any more FG's.

Bungles D relies on their Line. If we can get Reggie into the second level he could have a big day! Same with our Passing O....Keep ryan upright!!

Basically in my opinion it comes down to one thing. Making the crucial play.

When you're worn out and tired on defense and you need one last stop will you fold or make that play? It feels a lot better to be exhausted and win than exhausted and lose.

On offense when you need that one crucial block to get a first down and ice the clock...will you make the right read or will you let a free rusher in?

I have confidence we can hang with anyone. My question is can this team put the nail in the coffin.

This team is a few mental mistakes away from having a very different record. It seems Philbin wont put up with players with a lack of focus regardless of their perceived talent level. We have a rookie QB and Head Coach and yet this team is making a game of it no matter who the opposition. We are quickly going from doormats to a team that will kick you in the a$$ if you don't take them seriously. I think the Bengals are in for a surprise.

I found a pretty promising statistic. The Bengals D is allowing a passer rating of 102.4 and have only intercepted 1 pass in 4 games. I think we have a good chance if we control the clock effectively and throw without committing any errors. The offensive line also needs to pick up the Bengal's defensive line since their pass rush looks pretty menacing.

On defense earily similar as with ARI, have a good shot at abusing the OTs, not concerned at all about the running game.

On offense we are facing a defense that can be thrashed up the middle, i expect 200+ rushing yards on the day.

As far as intangibles, im not sure how we react to 2 straight OT losses that SHOULD'VE been wins.

Well, I think if we score more points than the Bengals and not let the Bengals score more points than us...I think if we can do that and if at the end of the game we have more points than the Bengals, we might could have a chance at winning but even at the end of the game, if we have more points than the Bengals, we could still probably lose...

HOw is Coyle our advantage and not theirs too?

Sure, he knows the personnel and general scheme but not the specifics of the calls and they'll have changed some lingo for this game.

More importantly, won't their offensive players and some staff know exactly how to best exploit the weak points of a Coyle schemed defense (i.e. OURS)

they should add up all the points scored during the game, in every quarter, not just at the end.

Hi there Fish fans. Obviously I'm a Bengals fans so here is my take on our team.
Offencively very competent, Dalton to Green is always a threat but the other receivers who get little press are also very good - Sanu, Hawkins (small but fast as hell and plays the slot really well) and Binns, TE Germain Gresham is also a big receiving target for Dalton. Our running game is, imo, lacking. The O-line doesn't seem to create holes, BJGE hasn't been able to rip any long runs, and Scott and Leonard are back-ups for a reason. I'm not sure the "runningback by committee" is necessarily a good policy nor is it paying dividends.
Defensively our CBs are banged up and we give up way to many big plays on 3rd and long situations. Our linebackers are ineffective as sack machines but they contained the Jags Jones-Drew to paltry yardage so they can stop the run - just wish they'd do it more often. We seem to be hot on the pass rush at the moment - Dunlap and Atkins are absolute beasts and Johnson is a good player - they'll be looking to break the line quickly and get after Tannehill. If your O line isn't robust it could be a long day scrambling around the backfield for the QB.

Anyway, going back to the original thread question: The Dolphins will need to protect Tannehill, and work the WRs at the sidelines to exploit the CBs, a decent TE can have a good day picking up decent yardage against a sometimes soft secondary. If you can exploit the rushing game and control the clock then you have a chance.
To win the Bengals will need to hound Tannehill, block the run and hopefully run up an early lead so they're not chasing the game. Look for "the other" wideouts to get open if Green is double-teamed, man to man covergae on Green and you could be looking at him posting up mega-yards.

This was one of the games I would like to have gotten over to the States for this season but flights were silly expensive. Anyways, those at the game or watching on TV, or online - enjoy. I'm hoping for a Bengals win and a good game of football. WHODEY!

Good post, this could turn into a shootout. You guys should not try to run it at all. Just operate out of the shotgun the entire time, I'm serious.

You guys got Dre Kirkpatrick back. You're loaded with first round picks in the secondary and you've got three solid pass rushers. Why isn't your defense better?

Miami has to stop the pass, it is as simple as that. Unfortunately the secondary is dealing with injuries to Marshall and Carroll. Yesterday they had a former practice squad player lining up as one of their starting CB's in practice. The main weakness of this entire team is the secondary. Until this area of the team is upgraded, teams will continue to have success against the Dolphins defense, especially late in games.

The Bengals have a potent passing attack. The secondary has to play much better than it has so far this season, if the Dolphins are going to have a chance of winning the game.

Honestly, it all comes down to injuries. Hall has been out with injuries, Clements out with injuries, Dre out with injuries, we got our best pass rusher back in Dunlap in week 3, from an injury, they should all be back this week, although I'm not sure Dre will be playing. But with Hall back, and Dunlap playing solid, I think our Defense will steadily get better every week, that being said we have got to stop Reggie running this week, if we dont do that it could be a long day. Our passing offense doesnt do us much good if the defense can't get off the field.

Maybe, but he was only their DB coach. I dont think he had much to do with installing the overall scheme and definitely not play calling. Then again who knows. I'm sure they know certain things about him, but probably not much they couldn't gather from tape anyway.

Andy Dalton, Jay Gruden, and Mike Zimmer have all said this week that what they've seen on tape has a lot of similarities to the same Defense they practice against. Meaning Coyle took what he learned from Zimmer and implemented it on the Dolphins. I have a feeling Andy is going to see a lot of the same stuff he sees in practice on Sunday going up against a fairly similar ran defense.

Been a Bengals fan since mid-80's when American Football started to appear on British TV, try to get over every other year or so to see a game but not this year sadly due to increased passenger taxes on airfares ...the taxes were more than 50% of the overall flight costs!! Hey ho ...next year when we march to the Superbowl !!!

    Just wondered..
I spent some time in Scotland, England, Italy, Crete, Greece, Spain, Majorca, Malta, & Turkey, as well as a lot of time watching the water go by in the North Atlantic and the Med... all courtesy of Uncle Sam. I just wondered if you were in the midst of a similar experience.
