Every dog has his day right? In reality I'm not going to hate...may the best team win Saturday. The only teams that piss me off are current rivals or teams I find to be "dirty" such as GT. We've had our past rivalry but I'm not going to pretend this is some gigantic meaningful game. I'd rather lose to you guys and win out than beat you and have a mediocre season. The biggest part of this game for the team should be making a statement. Not caring who lines up across from them.
Pretty much. Winning the Coastal is still far and away the most important thing this year. We've yet to do it since we've been in the ACC, so making, and even possibly winning the ACC would be huge for us. That being said, beating Notre Dame and being ranked would still be absolutely huge on a national scale, and in recruiting.
That's good stuff.... I love JJ too. Shame he just didn't work out with the Dolphins. We would have to get him when he starts having introspection and doubts of whether he still wanted to continue being a Head Coach. Typical Dolphins luck. It's going to be great to see this rivalry started back up even if it's very temporary. Catholics V. Convicts was such a great storyline back in the day.
Same one. I felt like going to another board and seeing how it is. You know how crazy the other site can get.
Sounds good. The only good thread we have is when we talk about the Sixers. The rest of it is Heat nonsense.
I didn't mean it that way. As you can tell, I'm a Sixers fan, and it's just that there were nothing but Heat fans on the other site. I get the feeling that there is more diversity among the NBA fans here.
There is, and I think you'll find even us Heat fans will be respectful towards you and talk basketball so long as you aren't trash talking. We only hound the Knick fans.
I'm not a trash talker. I haven't had a team to back up any trash talk in a while. I can't wait for the Sixers season to start. I enjoy talking basketball, and you seem like good guys. Now lets hound those Knicks and Celtics fans.
Gotcha. I was a major poster back on FH back in the day as well before this site opened. I was in like the top 20 post count, though I doubt I still am Hope you enjoy the site here.
Just out of curiosity, what made you leave FH? I think I'm somewhere in the low 70s in post count. FH is well run. I've heard about this site before, and I wanted to see it myself.
Well basically FH administrators could no longer co-exist from what I understand and some of them broke off and made this site. I woke up one day and realized that about three quarters of the guys I'd consider "friends" on the site were gone and vanished without a trace. Then a couple days later I found out about this site, and everyone I knew was already here. At that time if you mentioned this site on FH your post was deleted (not sure if that is still the case?) while here we were freely able to talk about FH (good and bad) and the administrators were very open about what happened and why. I did both for a while but over time I started knowing less and less people over there so I eventually ended up here exclusively. Also I got tired of dealing with that Mike-O guy....not sure if you know him or know of him I could never see eye to eye with him and he was posting a lot there for a while after the sites split. I haven't checked FH in a good while. I hope it's doing well though, it was rocky for a while.
Wow, I didn't really know that. Anyway, FH is doing fine. You have your extreme loyalists and Debbie downers, but nothing out of the ordinary. I'm liking both of these sites and will post between the two of them.
I don't think that's a huge deal...but I'm kind of ignorant about exactly how much impact our AD has/had. I would think we could fill the spot. Its too bad we can't send Shalala with him though,.....
Alright Canes of substance, what do I need to know about Eichhorst? From what I can tell, this was a Barry Alvarez linked move.
He's a good hire for you. Eichorst is a mid-west guy who came to Miami from Wisconsin because of a Shalala/Alvarez connection. He got a raise, and gets to go back closer to home.
Not really. Supposedly one of the reasons he left was because Shalala wasn't happy with the fundraising. Who knows really. Despite that, I thought he handled the NCAA scandal well and made a great hire in Jim Larranaga for the basketball program. It's also not that easy to raise funds for a private school with a small alumni base as it would be for a school like Nebraska. Miami needs to get an AD from the area, preferably with ties to the school because Miami is too different from Wisconsin and Texas where our last 2 AD's are from. I'd love to see us bring Pete Garcia back, but probably not going to happen.
My hopes for Saturday. 1) They come out a little rusty after their bye week, allowing us to jump out in front early and pressure their offense. 2) Our defense steps up against the run. Our best chance is to make their QB beat us, because he is shaky at best. 3) We continue to create key turnovers when we need them. 4) Our offense cashes in on those chances. Especially on their side of the field. 5) I've been reading a lot about the work Stephen Morris puts in. He knows he has been inaccurate at times and knows why. The issue is mechanical (he says) and I hope all that work starts to pay off a bit more on those quick throws. We know he can chuck it deep on target. 6) Speaking of chucking it deep we need the line to protect. Their secondary can be exposed if Stephen has enough time in the pocket. I'm itching for this game!
It's no wonder why that Raven defense has been so great for so long with guys like Reed and Lewis leading them. If we could get Ray to suit up for the game, may we would be set. DP needs to channel his inner Ray.
You forgot to finish your sentence....let me help you with that. Ugghhhh 10 hours until we get to kick Irish ***.
