    Hi guys,
Rams fan here, always interested to see what the competition has to say about an upcoming game. I'm intrigued by this game. We've lost our only 2 games on the road, but both were close and we had a chance to win late. Much like you I'm sure, we've shown improvement every week. Figured I'll give you my best non-biased breakdown of the Rams for anybody interested.

QB - As with any QB, Bradford is as good as his protection, which for us is pretty average to poor. With time, Bradford is as accurate as anybody. Problem is he doesn't usually have much time, and his only real recieving threat just got injured. Bradford does have a tendancy to lock on his first target, which goes hand in hand with usally not having much time to through. Still tough for me to grade Bradford, as his surrounding cast is very sub-par.

RB - Jackson is still good, but his explosiveness is mostly gone. He'll grind out tough yards, but he's not going to make anybody miss or beat anybody around the edge. Our 7th round pick, Richardson, has looked great so far. He's very fast, and runs hard. For a smaller guy, he's a north/south runner and isn't afraid of contact. Most Rams fans want to see him get more carries.

WR - Very weak unit as a whole, especially without Amendola. Gibson is a possession guy mostly, and has the occasional boneheaded drop. Chris Givens was one of of the fastest guys at the combine, and has already became our best deep threat. He hasn't done much besides running deep routes though. Steve Smith will probably replace Amendola in the slot, hasn't shown his former pro-bowl ability yet. Brian Quick was our 2nd round pick, lots of athletic ability, but came from a small school and is slowly being phased in. Kendricks is our best pass catching TE. He's an athletic guy, but his hands are very average. Hasn't shown a whole lot yet.

OL - No secret that our O-Line is bad. We're starting 3 backups. They have however played suprisingly well in our last 2 games against good pass rushes. Run blocking is average at best.

DL - Easily the strength of our team. Quinn and Long are as good of a set of DE's as there are. Quinn can be burnt on runs though as he sometimes gets too far up the field. Brockers was our 1st round pick and missed the first 4 games. Not much of a pass rusher, but has been helpful against the run. Langford is slowly coming along. With changing to a 4-3, I'm sure there was a little catching up for him to do. But he has been showing his pass rush ability lately. The pass rush from this group is excellent. Our run defense still has to improve.

LB - James Laurinaitis (JL) is a great game caller and leader, but he's average against the run. If your guards can get to the second level, he's not the greatest at getting off blocks. Getting Brockers back has helped keep JL clean. JL is above average in pass coverage and does a pretty good job on TE's down the seam. Does a good job sideline to sideline. Jo-Lonn Dunbar is our WLB. He's been excellent for us so far this year. Very active guy, one of the more emotional players on D. SLB is a mix of Rocky McIntosh/Mario Haggan. Both are average at best, but we play nickel quite a bit, so they only see half the snaps probably.

CB - Very good group. Finnegan has been excellent against both the pass and the rush. Janoris Jenkins looks like a future star. He has his rookie moments where he'll bite on something, but he's shown tremendous abilty to close on the ball and also great anticipation. He's been solid against the run as well. Bradley Fletcher is our 3rd CB. He could start on most teams. His only drawback has always been health.

S - Easily our weakest group on defense. We don't have any safety that excells in coverage. Quinton Mikell is our best safety, and he went out of last weeks game with a possible concussion. Hopefully he's back, I think he will be. Craig Dahl is basically a linebacker in a safeties body. Poor against the pass, good against the run. Darian Stewart is our other safety. He's a young guy that has shown flashes. Physical player that is just ok in coverage. He lays some big hits, but he will miss some open field tackles.

ST - Our rookie kicker "Legatron" has been amazing. Perfect so far and has 60+ range. Our undrafted rookie punter has also been awesome. Good directional ability and also can boot a bomb.

Should be a good game, looking forward to it.

Miami wins this one by 4 and our defense doesn't allow a touchdown. 16-12 Miami in a game of limiting the Rams to field goals.

I remember we beat the Rams in 1998 14-0. The reason I remember so well is my daughter was born the next day. We were late taking my wife to the hospital to be induced because the game wasn't over. She was born 4 am the next day!

yeah I can post the link if you really want to read about it but yeah he has been known (in practice) to mess around and hit 66+ when he is having fun. If you watched the game on Thur. even the announcers were in shock when on a mid 50 yarder he hit the middle of the net.

A couple comments on your assessment..

The thing that screams to me is you pointing out the awfulness of your O-line and talking about sammy being only as good as his protection..... that may as well be the game... Our d-line is playing at such an astronomical level right now, atleast compared to what we are used to, Sammy will probably be running for his life all game from Wake and the guys.... You say he has the tendency to lock on, How does he do under pressure with what he has to work with?

While i'm on the subject, our D line is making top NFL running backs run for half their avg YPC and go no where... that should be a lock if the consistency is there.

Mentioning your WR group being very weak as a whole... its similar to our situation except, ours is moreso that we dont have a WR group in the first place, Not that they arent performing. Hartline and Bess are the WR group pretty much .... and they have done nothing short of carry 110% of the workload. We really just need more than those 2 guys to help create some nice mismatches. I mean You double team 1, and the other has a great game lol. I hope Gaffney gets healthy, quick.

Going over your run D and LBs, the reoccuring theme you have stated is that your run-D is lacking.... if its as lacking as you say it is its probably going to be the area we try to pound it in at.... Reggie bush has been playing a bit less physical since he got hurt, almost as if avoiding contact, but if he gets breaks he just abuses them and does not stop, and Daniel Thomas is coming off a pretty good game for that matter.

Wish I could say our CB group and kicker were awesome. Edit: SS is ballin out though.

Edits: The team really REALLY continues to impress me..... I predicted a loss at AZ, not a heartbreaker that it was.... I predicted a W at cinci with a much bigger offensive show on both sides, it wasnt as crazy as i thought itd be.... I'm just happy we got the W. to be honest because we have been in EVERY SINGLE GAME outside of texans......I think this is going to be somewhat of a blow out at home. Something on par with the raiders game. just my hunch

    30-16 MIA

I also would REALLY REALLY enjoy beating Fishstache..... just saying

While the o-line is band-aided together, they have been playing better lately. Most of us were afraid for Bradford's life when we played Seattle after their 8 sack game against Green Bay, but we held them to 2. Also held Arizona and their better than average pass rush to 2 sacks. The OC does a decent job in trying to help the line with play action and quick drops. He is olny average at avoiding a rush and moving around in the pocket, so if you have a disciplined pass rush, you could have some success. I don't think you'll make Same run for his life, but you may force the game plan to be nothing but quick passes, which hurts because our best run after the catch guy (Amendola) is out.

It won't shock me if you limit our run game, pretty much everybody has so far. I hope we start seeing more an more of Richardson instead of Jackson, because his speed can suprise some teams initially.

Our WR's are just below average as a whole, we don't have any go-to guys. Pettis and Gibson are sound possession guys, but they aren't going to stress your CB's deep, and they can't consistently get open on their own. Like I said, Givens is a burner and if Sam has time, he'll take some deep shots with him. Hopefully the Rams are ready to get Brian Quick more involved. He's our best size/speed combination. Just needs to get up to speed on the playbook/game situations.

I haven't watched much of Bush this year, but if he wants to go East/West on us, I won't be too concerned. We have decent sideline to sideline speed. RB's that have had success on us are getting through the initial hole quickly and getting to the second level. Last week Ryan Williams seemed to try and bounce a lot of runs out, which quickly closed up. We get into trouble on quick hitters that catch our DE's getting upfield too fast. And we have only had 1st round pick Michael Brockers for two games, and he has already helped out a lot in just taking on blockers and stuffing the middle.

Basically the Rams are limited on offense because we don't have many playmakers. If you don't give up a big play, we have trouble sustaining long drives because we just don't have many guys that can do anything on their own. On defense, I'll be pretty shocked if you guys put up 30 on us, but crazier things have happened I guess. I expect a close game.

Regarding Fisher, it sounds like many of you guys didn't want him. As a Rams fan, I'm ecstatic with him so far. He's totally changed the attitude of the players and those around the organization in a short time. Some of the retired vets that have been around the team in training camps/practices just talk about how much better everything is ran, and how the attitude of the team has improved. I guess we each got what we wanted.

Do you regret trading your pick and keeping Bradford ? If you draft well you should be able to fill a lot of holes with high round talent over the next few years. Welcome.

I wouldn't. Bradfords got the goods just needs a better set of tools and better protection (Starting next week). I also think if the Skins don't change the way they Use RGIII he's going to spend more time on the Injury report than he does on the field.

While the play in question wasn't any sort of option or designed run if Shanahan continues to use him in that manner I don't see him ever playing 16 games in a season.

No and there weren't many more than a handful who ever wanted to keep the pick. It basically came down to upgrading a position we already felt set at or filling multiple positions. Already the Rams have 4 starters from that trade(they were able to use the #7 pick to trade down further and the 2nd rounder from the Skins to get even more picks). They drafted Michael Brockers at 14 who is one of their starting defensive tackles, Janoris Jenkins who looks like the best rookie corner in the league, Isiah Pead(are starting kick returner but has been passed by Richardson at running back) and Watkins who was starting at left guard until he got injured.

With Griffin injured and the Skins in a tough division and tough schedule it's very possible the Rams could end up with another top 5-10 pick next year and we get their #1 in 2014 as well. Ending up with 3 #1's 2 #2's and a 5th for one pick was obviously quite a bounty.

On to the game, I think this will be a very close game. I don't see how posters are predicting the Phins will roll through the Rams. yes you guys have a very solid defense and defensive line but the Rams have played the Bears, Lions, Cardinals, and Seahawks. All of whom have great defensive lines and 3 of whom are among the best defenses in the league. Wake is a beast but the Rams offense has been facing beasts all year.

The Dolphins won't roll through the game. I think some might feel the Rams may be weakened with Amendola out, but they still have a defense. Pass D is better than Run D it seems like, but we're not sure if Bush is 100% yet.

sounds like we need to do a lot of draw runs to either side through the holes your over pursuing DE's create.

Not at all. I'm of the belief that Bradford is a franchise type QB. The sad thing is that they haven't put any emphasis on surrounding him with talent as of yet. We need more good players, and getting those picks should go a long way in helping us. It's really hard to understand just how bad our roster was the past few years. Get this, 24 players that were on our roster last year didn't even make an NFL roster this year. That's absurd. Fisher came in and cleaned house, which was badly needed. We are currently the youngest team in the NFL with an average age of 25. If we don't trade our #2 pick this past year, we probably don't end up with Jenkins, Isaiah Pead (promising 3rd string RB) and Rok Watkins (5th round Guard that was in line to start before suffering an injury). So getting those extra picks is really helping us to fill a lot of holes and build some quality depth.

Really if I have any regret this past offseason, it would be not trading for Brandon Marshall. I'm sure you guys know more about him than I do, but for what the Bears traded, I would've gladly taken that chance on him and gotten Bradford a frontline starting WR. Salary cap could've been a concern though.

Miami has been the dominant team 4 weeks in a row, only winning twice. That being said, this, like Cincy, is a 50-50.

Both teams are playing tough and in the thick of the mix up and parity transpiring.

idk about the Bengals, I respect them but you guys were the first hard team they played besides the *** kicking they were handed by the ravens. browns, redskins, and jags arent really the cream of the crop.

Also I know it means very little but Bleacher report has the Rams ranked 8th in the Power rankings with the Fins at 20

Also the Rams have not given up a touch down in 115 minutes and 46 seconds or a passing touchdown since week 2. (that includes against cutler and kolb.) and have given up 2 passing TDs the entire season. (have played against brandon marshall, larry fitzgerald, and megatron)

The fins also allow the 6th most passing yards per game of any team this season

It's going to come down to the DLine. If they keep playing lights out it could be a REAL long day for the Rams. Wake/Soliai/Starks and Odrick are incredibly tough up front. Wayne Hunter does NOT handle Wake well at all. So I expect his side to be helped a lot with chipping etc.

Really it comes down to who can create the most turnovers. These are 2 teams in somewhat similar situations so it will come down to which QB makes the most mistakes.

God help Miami if it comes down to field goals o.O

Yup. Untill RT can start tossing in TD passes, the team will hover around the 20 point mark, making any game against what some might consider an 'inferior' opponent a tossup.

I think some fans have already transitioned back to the old days of marking off Wins in the schedule. We aren't there yet

Sounds like a fair matchup. Tannehill is progressing nicely, but his low TD pass production (for whatever reasons people want to argue) is an issue at present

Fins coverage is not great but I think they would necessarily allow more passing yards because teams have not been able to run very well against them

That pass defense stat is skewed, relatively speaking we're pretty efficient against the pass, very good completion percentage against.

Funny, i am also a rams fan born and raised in coconut creek...

Anyways, i'm just here to say heres to a good game, and injury free!

This game is going to be a lot like our game vs arizona last week, low low scoring, battle of the defenses, whoever's offense can get more big plays will win, because neither will be driving the ball consistently against each other.

I agree that it will be abattle of defenses and the winner will be whoever steps up on offense. With Tannehill looking better and better every week and a 3 headed RB monster, the odds are on our side IMO

Im not too worried about Tannehill, although he has been looking very good, but our pass D is one of the best in the league, we have only allowed 2 TD's through the air this season, tied with the ravens for 1st.

Bush, and miller i am worried about, as our run D isnt very good, and our DE's are great pass rushers, but Quinn is very undisciplined and pins his ears back eery play, leaving wide open cutback lanes for someone like bush or miller to run through...

The runnong game has me worried, but passing, not so much.

I don't think it will be a blowout but I do think we will control the entire game. The rams will not be able the run the ball and if we can get pressure with our front four, which I believe we can, then it is going to be a long game for Bradford.

With our pace it allows tannehill be come to the line, read blitzes, and adjust. If you blitz, he's gonna eat your guys alive. I expect early screens and quick passes the tire and bore the DL.

I HATE when fans act like the other team has no chance but I think it is going to be very difficult to get first downs against or D.

I don't think you can just assume we can't run the ball. Yes your run defense has looked good but you have played 3 teams with awful running games. The Rams aren't a great running team by any means but they aren't nearly as bad as Cincy, Arizona or Oakland. With 10 days off Jackson is likely to be healthier than at any other point since game 1 and Richardson has looked very solid as our backup.

Also I don't know how people can say the passing yards are skewed. You guys have given up more than 300 yards passing 3 times and it's not like Oakland, the Jets, or the Cardinals are offensive juggernauts.

It's almost like since you guys played brilliantly against the Bengals you somehow think it's erased all of the games before it.

No offense but I don't see anything that makes your defense look a level above the Seahawks or Cardinals and the Rams moved the ball on them. I also don't see why you think Tannehill will move the ball easily on the Rams when nearly everyone else has struggled to. If the Dolphins do pass a ton expect them to turn the ball over at least once or twice. The Rams have one of the best cornerback crews in the NFL.
