He'll get his chance this weekend. If he can get some yards against the Rams and not screw up his pass protections he'll be in good shape to supplant Thomas.

I had picked up Lamar Miller in fantasy this week but then the Donald Brown surgery news came out and so I had to drop Lamar for Vick Ballard who will likely get the bulk of carries against an ailing Jets defense that isn't stopping the run.

I'm ready to see him on board and on the same page as the team. The team could really use him about now.

I am sitting Lamar Miller this week..
Question about fantasy.. I have to pick one of these:
    McGahee @ SD
    Hartline
    Demarco Murray @ Ravens..

Not sure which two need to sit, unless Nicks is ruled out, then I'll start Hartline..

I hope he can protect...that's my only concern with this kid.

Why did they suddenly stop giving him carries, anyway? He was running well and Thomas wasn't.

IIRC, he completely hosed an assignment and so he got some time to study the playbook.

He probably isn't doing well with the mental aspect. He's ****ing up his blocking assignments and managed to run the wrong way after an audible which I don't think I've ever seen before.

He might not be all that smart.

Question is, if he does manage to fix those mental gaps, does Thomas become a tradable commodity to a desperate team because of his upside?

Hopefully Miller can start getting more playing time. I realize he isn't the blocker Thomas is, but he is a far better runner. Thomas just can't seem to stay off the injury list. He was injured most of last year and now he is out this week because of another head injury. I just don't see him being the answer at the RB position for the Dolphins and it won't surprise me if he is no longer a Dolphin after this season.

Use Lane in short yardage situations and let Bush and Miller rotate in the backfield. Either of them can break a long run at any time. Thomas is lucky if he breaks a 3 yard run.

I'd go with neither of them..
Ballard averages a whopping 2.0 yards per carry on 42 attempts this year... not good.
Powell will be behind LaRod Stephens-Howling and with a very weak running game in Arizona who knows how many carries he'll get.

Murray needs to be started out of those 3 no question about it.. He was probably your first round pick. Plus the Ravens have been torched by Running backs this season so far. Though you can never tell which Dallas Offense will show up, the Playoff caliber one or the dreadful last place looking offense.

Well, I'd like to see Thigpen get some touches at Rb, imo we'd be better off limiting Reggie B and Thigpen can do some of the things Reggie B does in the passing game.

Would also like to see JTrain have 5-7 carries.

Thanks, I got Foster and M.Turner at RBs, maybe a start L.Washington or M.Floyd at W/R

As soon as the staff feels they can trust him in pass pro, he'll breeze by Thomas in the rotation. Much more gifted runner.

Didn't they use Thigpen exclusively as a receiver in the preseason? I don't remember him ever getting a carry.

More or less that is what I'd think he'd do, receiver out of the backfield ala Reggie B's role.

We'll see. I've never gotten the impression from watching Lamar Miller through college and this year than he's afraid of contact or has problems running between the tackles. He's not small and he has the tools to be a premier back one day. Thomas is decent but does nothing at a really high level.

John Clayton said Reggie had no setbacks this week, Thomas is out, and Bradford has a knee booboo.

Well, I've seen him shy away from contact in College but I've also seen him run over a couple of people. Lets hope he's learning how to grind out some yards. He absolutely has enough size to do it. I like Thomas but he is getting hurt a little too much for my liking ...

Though, to be fair, you can only do so much to avoid a concussion.

We've seen freak injuries to Ronnie Brown so we know that avoiding these things are pretty much impossible but it is what it is. Last season it was something different and now he's getting his head hurt....

That's my issue also. A little too much tip-toeing, waiting for the Red Sea to part instead of finding a crack and using his burst. I like Thomas more than most but yeah, this his his 3rd or 4th time missing games & its getting old.

True. But he runs high and leaves himself exposed, if he doesn't fix that he won't last long.

I disagree. I think that the Broncos - Chargers game will be high scoring and McGahee will get lots of carries to set up Peyton play action. That's a better bet than relying on the Cowboys' lousy OL.

You've never seen poor communication on a handoff? I've seen it a lot of times. It happens a couple plays a year to just about every team.

You serious? Can't tell you how many times Thomas gets touched and goes down. In general he doesn't have that grind it out attitude.

The concussions have had nothing to do with running high. Both times he was low when he got hit.
