By now, we should know that the answer is no. The Canes can score 40, but they just as easily give up 40.
Yeah pretty much. I keep telling myself it's impossible to give up 30+ points every week but I guess maybe it isn't.
UNC is probably the best offense we've played thus far. So I think the answer is no. Gio Bernard is going to go balls deep in our defense. Like 400 yards rushing. Prepare for another 49-46 nailbiter.
Our DC should be fired after this game. Golden should take over defensive responsibilities for the rest of the year. **** I'll take it, I guarantee improvement.
Also can I make a suggestion on offense? Duke Johnson doesn't need the ball every time he checks in. Our play calling with him in the game becomes SO obvious. If I can tell you it's a strong side sweep based on formation NC sure as hell can as well. Get creative.
Forget firing him. Golden needs to take our DC into the back yard and take care of his existence Old Yeller style. Lets just not cover the back out of the backfield on 4th and 6. I mean a pass to the back isn't like...the most ****ing likely play call in that situation.
Totally agree about Duke. Everytime it's a run to the outside when he's in the game. The guy can run up the middle. Just saying. Complaining about the DC is a guarantee at this point. So I'll save my breath.
OMG Announcer just said Dorsett needs to catch the punt, letting it bounce isnt what hes paid to do LOL
WTF Do they think Williams is mentally deficient? Let him throw the damn ball and give him more than one option.
Not happy with anything from this game and even though they got some yards running, I thought the offensive line got their asses handed to them today...
Bad thing is the game could have been tied. Who knows what happens if the ref doesn't ****ing call that BS "false start" penalty on the 2 point conversion. After that I guarantee we at least TRY a FG in the 4th when the wind wasn't as bad in our direction. FML.
We're screwed if Morris can't play. Ryan Williams has a pop gun arm. Teams will just stack the box because Williams won't beat them deep like Morris can.
On the plus side I thought Williams actually threw most of his passes where the receiver could actually run a little after the catch.
One of the worst calls I've ever seen. A delay of game for hiking the ball too quick? After the referee waved the clock to start? Absolute clown shoes was that call. Would of been a guaranteed 2 points because UNC didn't know what to do with that formation.
He's definitely much more accurate than Morris is on the underneath stuff. But I don't think that's going to matter much when defenses have 9 in the box and we can't run.
On the positive side, my expectations are back to what they were prior to the season... Absolutely none whatsoever... So I can go back to laughing at our defense instead of being pissed off that it's the worst in the history of football.
Threw a little jump pass, landed fine on the first foot but came down brutal on the side of the second. They had it wrapped up a LOT.
There were some nice individual plays...a couple tackles by DP and a couple pass deflections by corners (though one drew a BS PI call) but honestly they should have put up 50+ on us. I have no idea how they ended with 18.
Not really. Johnson had a nice int but the pass should have never been thrown. The entire defense needs to get stonger.
Perryman and Eddie Johnson per the usual. In all seriousness though, we only allowed 18 points. Much of it was luck, but it is what it is. If you would of told me the defense could somehow manage this I'd say it would of been an easy win. But... Leave it up to the offense to **** the bed when the defense finally gets a stop.
Ryan Williams expected to start vs. FSU... We'll see. Morris's sprain isn't a high ankle sprain at least.
My excitement for the season has been drained. The loss plus Morris injury are just too much...but I still like Golden and our long term potential.
Sounds like Morris might actually be able to play this week. Also sounds like Duke has turf toe. That sucks. Would certainly explain his loss of explosiveness the last couple weeks. That's an injury that will hamper him most, if not the rest of the season.
