One thing that you guys aren't thinking about is Bradford is only 24 years old. Yes he's been in the league 3 years but he came out early and never redshirted like Tannenhill. So even though Tannenhill is a rookie he's only 8 months younger than Bradford. The Rams have also played 4 of the top 11 teams in terms of total yards allowed so they are used to playing great defenses pretty much every week(the only poor defense they played Bradford absolutely torched). Also the Rams have only played 2 games on the road. One against the Bears who look like they are easily one of the best 4 or 5 teams in the league and one against the Lions where the Rams were about 30 seconds away from winning(and if not for an error by the time keeper probably would of won). Yes the Rams have struggled on the road and haven't put up great offensive numbers but they've faced a much tougher set of defensive foes than the Dolphins. The phins have played the Bengals, Jets and Raiders. All of whom are in the bottom half of the league defensively. I agree the Rams will struggle to move the ball but so won't the Phins.
They are just the Rams, that's all. They just aren't good. We beat them bad last time in Miami, and that was Jay Fielder, I think it was 31-14 or something. We are 9-2 lifetime vs. the Rams. All the stats, and whatever they did vs whoever is irrelevant. They won't win.
Lol. getting old. Please make sure you come back to this forum when the game is over. Please just promise that. Rofl.
Their struggles in road games, in open arenas, has been a noted problem over the last 5 or so years thru what is now their third HCing change. Can it be reversed, of course, but it will take more time than 1 quarter by a new HC imo. Thanks for your heads up on Bradford's age .... the other side of tha coin is that the NFL experence Bradford has far outweighs any advantage Tannehill holds age wise (19 starts in college and 5 in the NFL). As far as what could have been I could counter your statement with my own however I'll retort with "You are what your record says you are." - The Tuna Your road record against teams in open arenas is well noted over an extended period. My guess, and hope, is that won't change this Sunday against this team. Again good luck.
Gene Steratore is the Ref....now we're not playing his hometown Steelers this time, but keep an eye on that a-hole.
http://vimeo.com/51234799 Great explanation of the defense that the Rams will be seeing a LOT of this Sunday.
thanks for the vid. Coach V is correct i've noticed in the Houston game and a few plays in the Arizona game we had that package called and it burned us. the Coach in the video was showing the Offense in a pro set and max protect with a hb and fb imo. What Houston did was have a TE set up on the line (strong side) to take a LB(Burnett usually) out of the equation for the play.the LB had 1on1 with the TE and Schaub blew us up over the middle.we had better pressure in Arizona with that package but were beaten in other areas when the game was on the line.
Great vid 1) Coyle has designed a package that highlights Wake and Starks/Odrick at Right DT. Smart way to maximize our most talented D linemen. 2) how would you counter this? I have to think its by punishing up with a aggressive vertical routes. The guy one on one with the corner and the slot guy can get a ball lobbed to them just under the safety. The sideline receiver in one on one is especially ripe for a deep sideline ball with the Safety so far over. On the other side, where our corner drops deep, you can again hit a sideline hole on a lob. To me, that's the best way to break this defense. Recognize it right after the snap and lob the ball to the open area on the sideline with enough loft for your outside WRs to run under it. I don't think hot slant routes work as you cannot consistently be sure if the LBs may drop, which could lead to an INT.
The Rams are facing the Phins, the #1 run defense in the NFL, and Steven Jackson has been gimpy all year. Amendola is out so who are the Rams going to throw the ball to? The Rams have a good kicker so I think that is probably the only way the Ram's score any points. Just being honest.
I want the Rams to pull a win out somehow, but i'm not sure what Bradford can do without Amendola. Sj39 has been pretty 'miss' this season with a few nice runs here and there. Imo it comes down to how well Bradford has practiced running for his life and throwing to his lessor Wrs throughout practice this week. I will say I will be fine with the Phins winning, as I like em too. I feel both teams are on the right track to be relevant again.
Good game but it never should have been that close. Bradford obviously fumbled forward into the endzone which is a dead ball at the spot. Then the refs decided earlier that catching a ball, turning up field and running then fumbling is an incompletion somehow....that swung field position by a good 50+ yards.
Don't forget the ****ty tuck rule where he lost the ball down at his belly button but is still an incomplete pass somehow. That rule really needs to be take out.
So many bad calls this game, Miami should have won by 10 or more. Tuck rule needs to GO. And that was a fumble and recovery, your receiver caught it then made a football move and kneed it out of his own hands. Who needs real refs when they are just as awful as the replacement ones? So tired of the officials screwing the Dolphins.
Good thing he can make 70 yard kicks in practice. He can't make a 37 yarder with a little wind in a game. Where the rams fans at? You were only in this game because of the bad calls. Period.
Like I said it was a great game I'm shocked the rams stats were so high but in the end u guys won. I guess legatron is human after all haha, though he had the distance he was off on the angle.
Ask any women.....you can be 10 inches, but if you last 30 seconds...you aint worth a **** *yes I am drinking
I'm just glad to see the fins fans who were bashing the rams as a joke team realized we are a legit team.
For the record, I never said the Rams were a joke team, just guaranteed they wouldn't win. Their defense is very tough, the line was in our backfield all game. I am impressed with their young WRs, I would take that Givens kid any time!
That one dude you guys have it ridiculous to try and stop, we did everything we could with the clock to just contain him. He was great for you guys today - all over the field tried to make himself part of every play - tenacious. What's his name again?, oh yeah, Gene Steratore. He is a tough one to stop
To be honest we are both mediocre teams. What happened to Jackson? You and us both have no receivers.....I never felt we or you would pull away. We are both young, but will be teams to be reckoned with for the next 8-10 years. Bank it.
nothing happened to jackson we are getting rid of him at the end of the season or trading during (rumor has it to packers for james jones but who knows) that is why richardson plays so much because he will be the starter either this season or next.
Tough game against a well coached team. And it could have gone either way. Some calls could have gone differently, but we were more than lucky to be in the lead at halftime after being soundly outplayed. I had to listen to sour grapes about the refs from Bengals fans last weekend so you won't get any from me this week. St. Louis played solid defense and we didn't. Nice win for us over a team that is similar in talent and also has a bunch of draft picks next year. Looks like we are on the same path.
