Tannehill QBR: 112 vs Rams, now 76 for season

Big day for Tannehill, efficiency-wise. 2 TDs, no INTs. Exactly what you'd hope for from him.

This brings his QBR to 76 on the year. This is roughly where we can expect a good rookie's QBR it to be.... by the end of the year. But he's already here and improving each week.

He is improving so much faster than expected, you have to wonder where his stats end up by year's end (especially as the competition level gets easier). Thing is, his decisions and few mental mistakes (even things like clock management, going down in bounds) are even more impressive than his stats.

What's the ratio at now? 4:6?

Trying to think what he still needs to work on and the truth is, there are several things, but I just can;t complain today because he's doing an excellent job exceeding expectations.

    Yes. Exactly that.

By year's end you'd want to see it higher than 1:1.

I was wondering when this info would be posted. Thanks. 2 TD's and 0 INTs always makes for a good QB rating!

Impressive how much he's improving and growing week to week.

Two games in a row without an interception now.

I loved the Fasano TD pass today, it was a situation where all year we've gone to the ground game, this time its a pass, and an easy TD at that. Like to see more of that.

I don't think we should get too hung up on QB Rating. I think he's had better days than today he had worse QB Ratings on.

This is why tannehill has been so impressive.Hartline coming back to earth as expected and no seam streching te.Hell are running games gone south ever since reggie got banged up.
We have almost no offensive talent and is he still playing this well.Wait until they find this kid some weapons.

Ya but The box score doesn't begin to tell the full story. How many of the 6 were actually bad reads and or throws? This kid is Very impressive.

Honestly the ratio to me is already higher than 1:1 in my eyes. He'll get it there...but it should be there already. Hartline has dropped two touchdowns and by my count four of the INT's basically had nothing to do with him.

Lets not be too quick about it. His QBR hasn't met the Patriots yet.

I thought he was efficient today, but also think they had training wheels on him.

2012 was the year to draft a QB. All of them are doing great this year. Should be a good class in the future

Or the success code was cracked. Don't sit rookie QB's and have them learn how to be people that they are not.

Ryan Tannehill may not have had a big game from a box score statistical standpoint, but the guy put up a 0.26 WPA in this game and had a 6.4 EPA. What that means is that, given how the Rams played against the Dolphins, Ryan made plays that improved Miami's chances of winning the game and improved their chances of scoring.

I was telling people coming into this game that the cornerback combo of Finnegan and Jenkins is the best Miami will have played this year. That played out. Marlon Moore beat Jenkins on that touchdown, but Tannehill recognized the coverages and tried to attack other areas of the field.

I'm more impressed with Tannehill then I thought I would be. I liked the comment one of the announcers said about him. They were quoting a coach (OC I think) who said you only have to tell Tannehill something once and he remembers it. That he doesn't keep making the same mistakes.

During the Texans game they showed a stat that the Texans were batting nearly 9% of passes at the line. The league average is like 2.4% (I know CK has posted similar numbers but thought I would share since these were from NBC). So while RT definitely needed to alter some things to avoid getting batted at the line - that Texans game may have been more about them than him. Add in the Hartline slip and Naanee's flub and there are a lot of fluke INTs.

I get that every QB has those - but it seems that RT has had a significant number in a short timespan. Hopefully it evens out over the season.

Steady improvement. All you can ask for.

What's really impressive is putting up a rating like that when your team can't run the ball. I'd be curious to see how rookie QB's fared with their team's rushing output is as low as that. My guess is it didn't go well for most.

It did look as though he was playin some chess with the rams defense..When he was doing all his audibles, protection changes, and playin with the snap count, I thought to myself, have I ever seen that before from a rook?... Yeah sure I have, but it never looked that smooth..

He also did this against a Defense that made the other 2 rookies they played....look like rookies......very impressive stuff.

    RG3 against the rams -- 20/29 206 1 td 1 int in a loss

    Russel Wilson -- 17/25 160 0td 3 int in a loss.

    I am happy :)

I know that this team will still have its shares of struggles but for me, Thill (I seem to like the nick name Tbone), seems posed and in controll when everything around him at times seems out of control...

I watched him on the field (Formerly known as Joe Ribbie Stadium) already 3 games this year and he seems methotical behind center... ala Peyton Manning, yes I said it...

I said earlier before the begiining of the Season that I hope our Franchise QB was in this years roster... I looks like that hope has turn into fruition...

Most impressed by what I am not noticing: no delay of game penalties and no burned timeouts because the QB couldn't get 'em lined up, or got confused by what he was seeing.

    Rooks always have those.

I love seeing him making adjustments at the line, I mean whens the last time we saw a miami qb in over 10 years make calls like that. Just simple throws like the one against Arizona where Hartline was wide open because of blown coverage, you know we're used to Henne missing that. The poise he shows is promising, just really hope he keeps it up and we have our guy, gives us a chance to win every week.
