I guess it's kinda cool to see it, but then I look down and find that the Chiefs and Browns are "In The Hunt".
Bill Parcells quote "You are what your record says you are" is brought up almost every week on TV and Radio. I guess that means the Fins are a playoff team.
Whoop-de-frigin-doo...doesn't mean a thing in October...Sorry, I can't get too excited about this article...
I still see this team going 7-9 or possibly 8-8. I'm not sure this will be enough to get them in the playoffs this season.
Ah, but when there's an article that says we have less than a 50% chance of winning the division, it's time for a celebration.
I like seeing things like this because it tells me we control our own destiny. It doesn't tell me we will be in the playoffs or even likely be in the playoffs. It just assures me that we control our own destiny.
I can see a 500 team making the playoffs this season. The AFC only appears to have one high quality team right now. That is the Texans. The Dolphins are certainly in the group which has a chance of making the playoffs if they can go 8-8. I think they have to win the game this weekend against the Jets to go 8-8 this season. If they lose this game, I just don't see them finishing the season at 500. The Jets game is probably the most important game this team will play in the regular season, IMO.
I hope we hold onto it for more than a week! Losing to the Jets after a week of rest would put a big dent in fans' hopes. A win would obviously send a ton of hope through it considering the remaining schedule. The toughest team is San Francisco followed by the Pats who have a crap secondary which leaves them vulnerable, though still tough on offense.
I agree about the Jets game but what concerns you the rest of the way? I am only concerned about the 49ers and Pats x2. I see more reason to be above .500 IMO
Premature? Sure. But in my head I keep saying, "if the season ended today we'd be in the bleeping playoffs!!!" That makes me happy and I'm holding onto it for the next 6 days.
I agree that the two games against the Patriots look like losses at this time. Also the game against the 49er's is going to be very difficult for the Dolphins to win. As far as the rest of the schedule is concerned. While all the games are winnable for the Dolphins, I just feel they will split with the Bills this year and I think the Seahawks are a team which can come into Miami and hand the Dolphins a loss. I think the Dolphins will go 2-1 against the Colts, Jags, and Titans. So in my scenario, if the Dolphins beat the Jets this week, I see them going 7-9 or possibly 8-8, if they beat the Seahawks. A loss to the Jets will likely lead to another sub 500 record this season. A 8-8 record might be enough to get them the final playoff spot in the AFC this season. We shall see.
If the Browns manage to hold their 7-6 lead over the Chargers....then Miami would move up to the 5th seed. Anyone think Dolphins could be the 5th seed in November??? Or even if its still the 6th if SD wins. Amazing, lets see how long they could hold it.
