I like how we match up and we have begun to generate the turnovers Philbin has been wanting and emphasizing and I think the run game will be improved which will open a few big play passing plays and we have a couple of secondary receivers looking like they may contribute.
I believe that our defense and special teams will have us "in" every game going forward. I think it will be a tougher game than last week, but we should be able to win by a score or two. The x-factor, in my opinion, is Reggie Wayne. Control him and their offense won't sniff the endzone. Let him beat us and run wild, and we could easily lose a very winnable game.
Love the direction the team is heading. Tanny and Hartlines injury status worries me. We win this game but its going to be tougher than most people think and it will spawns a whole slew of worthless threads.
27th rush defense vs 11th rush offense Colts have a -10 turnover differential (30th in the league) We have allowed as many passing tds as we have forced interceptions (8) We are 6th in the league with 22 sacks I say we have control in this game
Colts have a tough time defending the run, which is something we should get on track with... To win games you have to stop the run... and score enugh points to help your Defense out, when opponents become one dimensional... Right now that is the game plan of this team... and til the Offense can get into gear and over score 24 points per game they have a good supporting cast...
Seems to me both teams are somewhat similar, and it is in Indy but we generally are a good road team. Hard to get a feel on this one, do think it matters more to our playoff chances then the following games.
Defensively, the Dolphins are playing great football, creating turnovers. Andrew Luck? Well, he's had 13 interceptions so far this season I believe. Miami's offense, while not putting up barnstorming numbers has been effectively MANAGING their possessions, moving the ball methodically and scoring point. I do wish Tannehill was able to take advantage of scoring opporunities, but he is still a rookie afterall. The TEAM however is coming together and winning. I'd like to see a romp, but I just don't think so. We've not won 4 straight since 2008. Miami in close one, 26-24
I think those are the least likely scenarios. More to the point, the Colts have beaten Minnesota and Green Bay at home. I'm not as confident as many seem to be. I think it's going to take another big game in all phases to get this road win.
not sure if you saw, or care, but it was pretty weird to see Bruschi and Damien Woody gushing about our defense..They literally dropped some stats like we're the #1 defense in the league in third down,2nd in red zone scoring defense, bruschi chuckled a bit while he picked us to win, like he knew something others didnt..heard words like " a for real defense" and "Very good".. X factor is Andrew Luck..the guy is great. Run on them, run that no huddle sh&$, tire out their pass rushers, let Pounce and the oline have some fun, and release the Kracken. One thing I've been thinking about is, Philbin was on that staff last year that could of run the table on an undefeated season, hopefully he knows first hand how to keep a team up on a winning streak.
I can't see us losing this game. Their defense should be easy sledding for our offense all day. I think we can sustain drives and keep our defense fresh. Luck can sling it around a bit already but I haven't been overly impressed by him this season so far given the offensive talent he has around him. I think Coyle can get into his head a bit. 24-13 we win IMO
I also think this may end up a bit closer than thought. This is one our D steals for us. 24-20 Phins.
It's really a "pick'em" game for me. Colts are playing pretty well and have a very good D and it is in Indy. Plus Tannehill is nursing an injury to his leg and I'm concerned that it will throw him off a bit on his throws. Had RT played all last week and played well, I'd go the other direction. But this is a tough game and everyone is talking about Miami. Because of those factors, I went with the Colts - even though I hate that team nearly as much as the Jets from the former division days.
Whoa. I hope you picked wrong. I'm going with the Dolphins, I believe Luck will throw us some picks and if special teams play anything like last week we will win by two scores.
if the colts D is "very good", can you explain the term you would use to describe our D or the texans or bears D ?
Coming off a big win against a hated division opponent, this could be a trap game...However, the D has been playing well enough and the STs have contributed in some games, and even if Tanny doesn't play (which I doubt will happen), MMoore can do enough with the O to keep it going. I surely would like to see the run game get back on track and the colts weaknesses fit into that happening...I think we'll run the ball well enough that Tanny/MMoore will have an opportunity to go over the top once or twice to win this close game...
I think we win. Our defense and ST will win it for us. Our offense will keep pace or better theirs. I really think in the Colts wins, they were able to stop one aspect of their opponets game. Against GB, they just had to focus on stopping Rogers. Against Minny, they had to focus only on AP. I think our offense is more balanced then either of theirs. I didn't say better, just more balanced. We don't rely only on the running game or passing game. I think this gives us an advantage. Their pass rush is not special, and run D isn't that great. I think Bush will ahve a great game.
Your points are well taken and logical. When I am using my brain, I feel the same way. However, since I rarely use my brain, I have to go with my heart and the Dolphins. This is a tough one because the teams are so evenly matched and one would think the home team has the advantage in this case. That said, I still think the Dolphins eek out a win as long as they can get their running game going and they are careful not to look past the Colts.
This is a big game with playoff implications, and a big game in that a W would net Miami a higher 2nd round pick from the Colts. All Colts losses are a good thing this season. Thank you Vontae Davis. That said, the hated Jets beat down the Colts 35-9 not too long ago (oct 14th), so if Miami takes care of business like they should it will be a win. Miami needs to review that game and try to duplicate it.
I picked the Colts because I believe that they are getting better quaterback play so far this season. Luck is for real, and he is for real right now. Their defense is not good but our offense hasn't been good all season. They have a sell out up there this week and it will be loud. I see the Dolphins dropping this one this week in a nail biter. Colts 21 Dolphins 17
Is CBS joking? Broncos-Bungles is the main game...Dolphins/Colts isn't even on in the New York or New England market, even though both teams are off and the Dolphins are a division rival. And there are way more Phins and Colts fans in the area. Plus, its one of only two games this week featuring above .500 teams, Giants/Steelers is the other. Actually, more people will even be able to watch Buffalo and Houston. They used to always put Dolphins games on here when the Jets were off or at a different time. I doubt they update it, even though they can. They switched the awful Panthers game to the Packers game in the NY/New England markets over on FOX. Any chance CBS does, or am I finding the "alternate" way to watch?
Reports that Tannehill had fluid drained from his leg twice yesterday leads me to believe he probably won't be playing this Sunday. Luck is probably the best QB the Dolphins have faced since they played the Texans. I see this being a tough test for the Dolphins secondary. While I think it will be a close game and the Dolphins could certainly come out with a win. I think Luck will take the Colts on a game winning drive in the closing minutes and they will probably beat the Dolphins, 21-17.
I think there are more factors that favor the Dolphins, but it should be a close game. I see the key factors as: Colt's pass rush against our OL/QB: The Colts have struggled getting pressure. If that continues then Moore or a even a slightly less mobile RT could be efficient passers. Edge: Miami Colt's run D against our OL/RBs: The Colts have struggled against the run all year. Miami has run really well in about half the games, decent enough in some and poorly in some. Edge: Miami Colt's run game against our front 7: The Colts have been successful when they can use play action as Luck is excellent at it and it frees up Wayne when the S has to move in the box. Miami has been great at stopping the run in almost every game. Edge: Miami Turnovers: Luck has been somewhat mistake prone and the Dolphin D has shown a knack for big plays. After struggling with turnovers early on Miami has been minimizing their mistakes. Edge: Miami I think those are the keys. I see Miami as more likely to win preform better in those areas so I think they are more likely to win, but if the Colts can win in any of those areas then the game changes.
