At this time last year we were 1-7.

Think about that. Last year we were 1-7 at this point in the season. Hey, 4-4 with 2 of those losses coming in OT is nothing to scoff at. Yes, today was a very disappointing loss. It was beyond frustrating seeing out defense being carved up every 3rd down. But at least our team has come to the point where we are disappointed in each loss and expect our team to go out there actually win games. Hopefully next week we can get the W, but I just wanted to remind people of the strides this team has made. I honestly expected us to win about 3 games this year, and am happy to finally have expectations for my team week in and week out.

While I agree, I don't like this trend of losing close games, extending back to last season.

At what point do you go from being a bad luck team to a bad team?

We need start closing games. Now.

I agree. An awful showing from the defense today. We realistically could be going into next week with a 7-1 record. Unfortunately, we haven't executed in those close stretches.

You'd be hard pressed to find anybody saying we aren't leaps and bounds better than we were last year, though.

I'm not going to hang my hat on being 4-4 having played 6 games against teams with losing records. That's how we got complacent after the 2008 season.

And we just lost to a team that was 0-8 at this point last year. I don't see the point. It was an epic fail on defense against a team that the lowly Jags were able to beat THIS season.

I understand its progress, but I'm sick and tired of getting a sliver of hope, only to lose to Mediocre teams time and time again. Saying we only lost by 3 against 2011's worst team who got blown out by the Jets this year doesn't satisfy me. That makes us sound like Jets fans who were satisfied they only lost to the Patriots by 3.

Once again we'll be sitting home in January, unless they beat every team aside from the 49ers and Patriots twice. Lose to anyone else, and you have to beat Brady...good luck with that.

Yes, and the Dolphins finished the season 6-10. So they went 5-3 over their last eight games last year. Right now they are only 4-4 after their first game games this season. So while they are playing better than they did at the beginning of last season. They are playing worse than they played over the latter part of the 2011 season.

Either way, the Dolphins continue to be a team which is stuck in mediocrity right now and it is going to take a solid draft and luck in free agency to get them beyond this level of mediocrity they have been in for the last three and a half years.
