    It only lasted a week!

Oh those were the days, difference a week and a loss makes! The thing that annoys me with this fan base, or any fan base for that matter is how a team is a Playoff team one week, and the next week they are back to being the worst team in the league. I came to the conclusion that no fan base is happy with their team, unless they win the championship, and they are only happy for a couple of months, the new season starts and everything is out the window. Yeah we blew it big time today, but we are still a good team, need to work on a few things, especially on pass rush but I like to look at the positives this season, especially since most people didn't think we would win 3 games this year. Playoffs would be great, but did anyone really think we are a Playoff team? I didn't, but I think we have the tools to be one now. There are a lot of positives from this team and the biggest I think, that makes me look more at the future then just this season is Ryan Tannehill.

In his first season, Ryan Tannehill is the 2nd best QB in the AFC East. He has went from thowing 6 int in his first 4 games, to throwing 0 in his last three he played, not including the Jets. He only threw ints in 3 games of 7 games he played this season.

Just think how bad this teams future would be if we had Matt Flynn as our future QB? We would have spent 3-4 years on him and then had to start over. Look at Kansas City with Matt Cassel. I see teams like Kansas City and Arizona who have no idea about the QB Future. Look at the Jets. We could be them. I look back at the Henne years and I am thankful every day to be where we are at right now. We have work to do, but man this team has a promising future. Yeah its frustrating to see teams like the 49ers turn around so quick, but man they were like us, they sucked for a real long time before they became as good as they are now. And it does suck that the Colts were able to replace Manning with Luck, but hey it happens, and this team has a bright bright future! But hey i'm an optimistic fan!

I don't think anyone would try to say this team looked all around awful today.

Vernon made a few plays again
    Thomas was running well
Tannehill played very well except for some errant passes towards the end there
there are good things going on with this team, and sure we're 4-4, but we're not out of it, and even if/when it gets to the point when we are, we've still got a lot to look forward to. just a painful game giving up so many third and longs. it frustrates you, me, and our secondary. once they got upset it just got worse.

Some fans are just too immature. Their lives revolve around the team's record. When the team wins, they are happy. When they lose they go nuts and start wanting to cut players, fire coaches etc. It is so irritating.

It's a GAME. It is for ENTERTAINMENT. If it is more to you, you need help.

3rd and Long killed me today, what made it worse was I was watching with my Brother, a Jet fan. They need to work on that and I think they will. Philbiin will get this team ready for next week! Colts are a good team too imo. Not super bowl team but a good team

Yeah one week People love Sean Smith, today hes terrible. He made mistakes. I am confident he will fix them. This is his first season as the #1 guy. Carpenter is another example. He has been solid lately, but if half this forum were the coach, he would have been cut.

One game isn't going to change my opinion on the coaching staff and our rookie QB. This is not a 1 year turnaround.

I don't think the Dolphins are one of the worst teams in the NFL. I think they are what I thought they were all along. A team with several holes to fill before they can rise from the mediocrity they been in for the past three and a half years. I said before the game that if they beat the Colts I thought they had a chance to be a playoff team with a 9-7 record. I also thought that if they lost to the Colts, they would not be a playoff team and they would probably finish 8-8 at best or possibly 7-9.

This is how I felt before the game and I still feel that way. I think they are headed in the right direction for the future, but they still have a lot of important holes to fill before they can compete against the better teams in the NFL. I have been saying for some time that I think they will be a much better team next year, after Tannehill has a year of experience and they hopefully upgrade their secondary, pass rush, and receiving corp in the draft and through free agency.

My main concern is that I don't believe that Ireland is the right man for the GM job. He has been on the job for four and a half years and the Dolphins have been mediocre for the last three and a half years . I just hope Ross sticks to what he said about the Dolphins having to make the playoffs this year for Ireland's job to be secure.

I agree with the first part. Of course I'm disappointed, but I don't change my opinion regarding the team every week.
Regarding the second part... I need help! The Dolphins mean a lot to me and I'm happier throughout the week when they win.

So you are saying that wins or losses really don't matter? Where did you learn about football. From the Cam Cameron school of , "wins don't matter".Fortunately I went to the the Herm Edwards school of football, where you, "play to WIN the game.

I agree that football is a game of entertainment. I just find it much more entertaining when the team I follow happens to win the game. The fact you seem bothered that fans seem to get upset with the players or coaches when the team loses bewilders me. If fans didn't care about their team winning, they wouldn't be fans in the first place. They would all just be like you. Someone who seems to only be interested in the entertainment values of the game but could care less who wins or loses. That to me is not a fan. It is merely someone who has nothing better to do on Sunday but turn on the TV for entertainment purposes and has no vested interest in the outcome. I think I would just stop watching football altogether if I didn't care about my team winning.

I would just spend every Sunday afternoon on the golf course in that case.

I understand that Ireland has a lot of support on this forum. I have no problem with those individuals who support him. I just have a difference of opinion regarding his overall ability as an NFL GM. I think he has made some very good selections in the first round over the last two years. I just don't think he has done a very good job upgrading the overall roster over the past five years he has been the teams GM.

The Dolphins have no real dangerous skill players on offense. The TE position has been average for the past five years. The secondary is really no better today than it was in 2008. The team has only one legitimate pass rusher on the defense. I just think that after five years in the job, Ireland should have provided the organization with more impact players.

Your right, but what it all comes down to is, the only thing we all want is to see this team become a legitimate SB contenders. It is the frustration of mediocrity which causes us all to argue with one another.

You're right. Discussion and passion is what makes message boards. Debating comes with the territory.

and two of those holes appear to be Right Tackle and our secondary. Our secondary has improved but we are still 1 or 2 players away from being a solid secondary. We need our Troy Polamolue. With a player like that we would be really good. We need some receivers who can get open. Not to far off and definitely fixable. I am excited. It sucks we lost but we have made huge strides in being a good football team.
