Oh man, what will the fall out be from Terry Bradshaw's comments? http://updates.deadspin.com/post/35...source=deadspin_twitter&utm_medium=socialflow
A bucket of chicken is an inanimate object. So how was it moving? Wouldn't it just sit there? I like chasing a LIVE chicken makes more sense. And it is less racist.
Terry Bradshaw should be fired. Not necessarily for this, but if this gets it done, who am I to split hairs?
He actually said "like he was chasing that bucket of chicken that the wind was blowing the other day". They were referring to a particular object apparently. Maybe they were in studio and someone had some delicious smelling chicken that the joke is a callback to. That seems more likely. The use of 'that' rather than 'a' makes me think it was an inside joke more so than a racist one.
Without appearing to be insensitive, I guess we have to add the words bucket, chicken and chase to the list of politically incorrect words, especially when used in the same sentence. I say this all tongue in cheek because I understand how this combination of words could be perceived. Probably not a phrase I would have chosen in any context.
I'm not sure that clarifying what type of chicken he was referencing is making things any better. If anything it's EVEN MORE racist. It's as though he's implying what he said can't be racist because he wasn't referencing fried chicken.
That's weird. I've visited my family in Huntsville dozens of times and have never eaten fried chicken out of a bucket.
Popeyes about a block away from my house and when the wind blows just right ... aww man you making me hungry. I haven't had KFC in years. Popeyes all the way.
It's f***ing ridiculous that people are constantly looking to construe everything as a racist issue that can be twisted as such. This is a guy whose best friends (Swann, Stallworth, and Harris to name a few) for a handful of years in Pitt, including 4 SB wins, were black. People need to STFU with this antagonizing garbage.
That wasn't racist. If he'd said Reggie was chasing a bucket of chicken while carrying a ball shaped like a watermelon, THAT would have been racist.
Chicken Pork Beef Barbeque Fried Baked I like it all. Food should never be made into a race issue. Unless your mind is stuck in a one way gutter.
