Miserable game for the refs..not helped by this little bit that was broadcast live: Oops!
Hope that liver spotted **** head gets fired. Not because he said a PG-13 word, but because he called a terrible game.
He was right to be upset. His crew had interrupted our offense three times before this snap. Game had stopped moving.
This made me laugh. As a high school football official, I can't tell you how many times this happens during a season when a crew gets together to discuss something on the field. I've worked with the same crew for years and we get along great, but sometimes, in the heat of the game, when you have this back-and-forth like was going on yesterday for something that was seemingly non-controversial, you tend to lose it. This perspective also usually gives me pause when criticizing officials for bad calls, as I've made my share as well at times. But yesterday, at the end, sheesh!
Forget the language, this is football! The calls were horrible. It's almost like they were replacement refs :-)
Bad calls happen, but the two at the end really fried me. Marlin Moore pancaked that guy, and I don't see how anyone could see it differently. That cost us - what - about 25 yards? Could've been lining up for a FG to tie at the end instead. And Pouncey did what every center does on every play ever during the history of the game and he gets called for a false start??? Her'es hoping the team gets better and doesn't leave the fate of the game to such calls like they did yesterday. If Smith makes that play in the end zone, and at least knocks it down, we may not be worrying about the calls right now.
bad calls are for us fans to complain about... and you're right the players need to use it as an elixir to play better and win the game themselves.
