Wow, no Halo 4 thread? Maybe it doesn't deserve one. My thoughts -

Campaign is ok so far. Not too far into it. Pretty challenging so far just on heroic. Dudes are sticking me with grenades right and left.

Multiplayer - it's alright. Much more like Halo 3 than reach which, IMO, is a good thing. But very limited boards. I think I've counted 3 or 4 that I've played for regular slayer, and big team matches is just the same long board from Halo 3 over and over and over and over again. I'm guessing Microsoft is just going to nickle and dime everyone to death on DLC maps which only work for certain types of games. Which means I'm only going to play Halo 4 multiplayer until black ops II comes out this Tuesday and then be done with it.

Yea, Heroic is tough as hell even on co-op campaign.

I love it so far. Just started level 7 of 8 on campaign last night. Love it. As with every Halo the story/campaign mode is just fantastic. Lots of great settings, great battles. I just love it. However, I'm more of an offline player, and I've really enjoyed every halo campaign mode as well.

The graphics IMO are outstanding, sound is well donee also, but that's to be expected in this franchise IMO. The new enemies you'll face provide quite the new challenge as well.

I just fired up some online this afternoon when I had a free hour. First time in it, I had two awesome gamees. After mostly playing COD online the last few years, I forgot just how much fun Halo can be online. Pretty crazy and intense action at times.

I think what I really enjoyed about the games I played, just the basic weapons were there. Assault rifles, needlers, shotguns, etc. When I hate playing halo online is when there are those stupid energy swords, and gravity hammers etc. etc. Then people just run straight at you and swing away and you really dont have a chance. Takes the fun out of it to me.

    Anyways, I'm really enjoying it.

The stupid swords and hammers are still in the online mode, you must just not have had a chance to see them.

    Halo is whack :tongue2:

-Too many other/better games out in the same period....Borderlands, AC3, and now BLOps2 and Hitman coming up.....

Halo totally takes the back seat to me...I'll be playing Gears + Blops for online play. The single player in Halo has always been meh, imo. I'm also a big scifi nerd for what its worth....So it's not out of lack of taste for the genre. I guess to each his own.

IMO, Halo 4 takes back seat only to Black Ops out of the games you mentioned. Multiplayer is just OK, but you're selling the Halo campaigns a little short.

Sorry but Halo campaigns are generic to me. The Half-Life franchise is so much more refreshing that every time I play any Halo singleplayer I find it the pinnacle of mediocrity. Atleast with Gears of War, there is something different there...with absurd gore and weapons that are an absolute blast to use... So with Halo I'm always left feeling underwhelmed witht he entire experience...the lack of a character whose face can ever be seen, and a generic & overused shield and checkpoint system.

That said, I loathe most singleplayer shooters these days. They just dont bring much to the table, so I generally only play them for their online component. Halo has always been a MP centric game, and the SP Halo fans are almost perplexing to me...due to the limited nature of any kind of story in this franchise. But then, I'm also a fan of RPG games with rich stories, so maybe I can be a bit too harsh on a game that targets an audience who get excited over a guy in a shiny colored suit of armor, float jumping around shooting goofy looking aliens who make gremlin sounds.

I don't know... I still think Halo 3 is the best Halo out for 360.

Halo 4 isn't getting enough credit for being a damn good game, IMHO. 343 did a great job. If I didn't know any better I never would have realized it was a new developer. The multiplayer is a good time and the campaign was very good. Good story, good length, and it didn't devolve into a ****ty flood fest like the first 3 Halos. If any of you were on the fence about this game I strongly recommend it.
