Regardless if it is Bill Parcells for GM, Bill Cowher for coach, Schottenheimer, even Scott Pioli-don't hold your breath on ANY of these things happening. The Dolphins are not much worse than the Falcons, if at all. Any other year, we would be in perfect shape to grab one of these guys for our coach. Except for the fact that Wayne Huizenga is getting rid of the team, and no one knows who is gonna end up owner(s). Any coach looking for a new team and looks at miami is going to see a team in disarray and an owner looking to bail out because of a garbage team and tax problem. Now you got this new owner, WITH PARTNERS, coming in. Who KNOWS what kind of people these are, we might be in for the biggest joke in recent Dolphins history. Excuse me for being negative, it is just so frustrating to not see any help coming to this franchise in the near future. Arthur Blank may be a little too much involved, but atleast you know what you have with this man. NO ONE has the slightest clue what this group of realtors and/or michael dell will bring to this team. I hope I am wrong, but no one is gonna want to be the head coach or GM for this team if they have NO idea of what to expect from the powers that be, no coach with a reputation or an ego for that matter. The only hope we have is that this deal gets done as soon as possible and we get to see our new owner's demeanor. If this thing lingers through the offseason, get ready for another season of RamCam, and don't expect many FA to want to come to this team unless we are overpaying. Point being, there probably will not be near as much difference from the 07 dolphins to the 08 dolphins as we are trying to believe. Just something us as dolphin fans should be prepared for.

I think he is only trying to sell 49%.That means he would still
    own the team.

As I mentioned on another thread the ownership transition will create an atmosphere of uncertainty and IMO that will dampen efforts to find a top notch VP off football operations something this team direly needs.

For Cam and Mueller that is good news as it seems likely that the status quo will be maintained until the new ownership takes over in a couple of years.

For Dolphin fans it probably means more years of frustration while the transition occurs.

Like I said in another thread (the bill parcells/falcons one), he is selling the 49% originally and selling the rest shortly after. Similar to how he bought the Dolphins, acquiring 15% and then purchasing the remaining 85% 3 years later. I am sure the Robbie's really had much say or even cared to have say once they knew they were partial soon-to-be-ex-owners. Im sure it will be the same thing with Huizenga. Like Huizenga is going to go out and get us a great coach when he is 51% owner and the following year he will have NO affiliation with the team, including the stadium? it still doesn't look good. Like crunchtime and many others have said, no top notch VP or coach is gonna want to get into this **** storm.

I thought Wayne wasn't selling the team as the sticking point to Parcells taking the job??

Correct. Parcells didn't want to take the job with the threat of new ownership looming, so Wayne promised that the team wouldn't be sold for at least the four years of Parcells' contract.

Wayne Huizenga will be the owner of the Miami Dolphins until at least 2012.

LOL....you seem to be making a big assumption that Parcells will stay through his entire contract. when was the last time he did that? I give him 2 years....but hopefully that will be enough time to get a solid front office and coaching staff in place.

He put up with Jerry Jones for 4 years. I don't see why he wouldn't stay with us the entire length of his contract--which just happens to be the same length as the time he spent in Dallas--working for an owner who's the complete opposite of Jones.

Don't underestimate Parcells' desire to show that he can win a Super Bowl without Bill Belichick on his staff. That's one reason he stuck it out in Dallas, and he now runs the team that has earned the nickname "Belichick's Bane."
