Everybody chill out. We only went from the bright side of mediocre to the dark. We only lost by 34 points at home to THE WORST team in the league. We can catch Buffalo after a tough loss. Just be thankful we don't have to play Jake Locker again this season!
Did I miss where, in all of their ability to do so, the Dolphins didn't give up those yards or touchdowns? It was certainly on them to not give up those yards and those third down conversions. It was definitely in their power to not have an aversion to hanging on to turnovers. They did none of the things that they had all the control to do, and therefore, they gave up the record and lost the game. Dishonesty is trying to paint over that.
That individual game should not radically effect your assessment of those players. That's pretty much the definition of a knee jerk reaction, especially when it's pretty contrary to established information you have.
Take away Pouncey...and you just listed a bunch of players who have maybe 5 "good" games logged in their careers here. Open your eyes to the anomaly. Is It the 4 crappy teams we beat this season, or the other 90% of their bodies of work?
It is, and people do. I just know it's not worth my time because you just come back with more double talk and insults.
On it's own it wouldn't, but it's been followed up with quite possibly the biggest turd in Dolphins home game history (if you adjust for the fact that the Dolphins, at the time of their last game this bad were in the league for all of two years and lost to a KC team that went 12-2). At some point, the continued failure of guys to produce when the game rests on their shoulders cannot be ignored or glossed over anymore, and their general lack of production overall cant be excused.
No, you don't. You haven't even put forth the effort to do the research to prove whatever points you think you have.
If they lost by 70 points your reaction still would be knee-jerk, and your characterization of the rest of the season inaccurate
I forgot you're the only person on this entire forum who knows what they're talking about and everyone else is misinformed, making knee jerk reactions or just plain wrong. I have disagreements with people a lot but at least I remain respectful. I'm really sick of reading your posts and the way you insult and talk down to everyone here. So from now on, you're on ignore.
I'm not, and there are plenty of people here that I've disagreed with but thought they at least had some sort of sound, respectable methodology. You don't. You wanna throw your knee jerk emotions out there and have them respected regardless of how well you can justify them or back them up, and then turn around and act persecuted when it doesn't happen.
No, Mike Pouncey very much belongs on that list. He's been successful in the same context. Those are all young players who are early in their careers, and at a completely logical point for them to have improved in the they have. Acting like its smoke and mirrors is just as lazy as anything else I've talked about when there is good sound reason for it.
I still think we are a very talented team. Even good to great teams have off days and everyone takes a beating from time to time. The Giants took a hell of a beating from the Bengals today, and we all saw what Houston did to Baltimore a couple weeks ago and of course what Green Bay did to Houston. I'm in no way saying we are in that tier of teams i'm just saying that every team gets it's butt kicked bad once in a while. I'll start with Tannehill, Yeah he had a bad game but we were in a hell of a spot. I thought letting Moore finish the game was a bad idea in my opinion. That mess was part of Tannehills too and they should have kept him in there to finish his beating. I think a QB especially can learn a lot of good football during the ends of bad games. It just would have been nice to see him finish strong and atleast have something to build on going into the Buffalo game. Reggie Bush is pissing me off! I'm ready to see more of Lamar Miller at this point. The fumbling is becoming a problem for Reggie and it's clear that he is just not the same player he was to start the year. I expect Bush to fully bounce back in the oncoming weeks. It's not like we are out of the chase or anything like that and Bush didn't really start to come on for us until the latter half of last season anyway. Maybe he can give us a flury these last seven games. Either way I want to see more of Lamar Miller. I think we know what we have in Daniel Thomas but Miller is a mystery for me and it would be nice to see him out there more as the season moves on. We need a true number 1 receiver. Hartline and Bess have me believing.....That they are solid #2 and #3 options. It's evident the deep threat lacking in the passing game and we need to find that guy now as soon as possible. I'm sure Philbin and co with get on that as soon as the season ends. All in all I don't think we are a bad team even after a bare backing like that. Playoffs are still in reach and it really was just one bad game. I fully expect us to battle hard against Buffalo on Thursday. Hopefully our guys (Bush) bring some fire on Thursday. Today it simply looked like the team just took the day off. Long miserable game and I hope we don't see another one Thursday.
Sometimes some people accuse others of thinking they've never been wrong. This goes to a whole new level. It's not just never being wrong, it's never even being argued against. Wrap your mind around that one a bit.
Bengals are a good team. Do agree with your thrust though, we've waited on these guys, "oh year 2! oh year 3!" etc etc Same guys doing the same crap they did in yr #1, mainly be decent, but not great. Have to say Hartline and Jones have clearly developed, but others like Clemons and Smith just haven't and Long has clearly regressed. For example, Misi on that Johnson Td run looked dreadful, another WTH is he doing moment.
We win some games and the future is bright. We lose a few games and we're years away from contending. This is basically how fans operate it seems. Me? I'll wait until the season is over before I judge the direction of the team.
Thursday is huge, over the years we lose that game 99% of the time, if we win it will show we have changed directions imo.
So not only are you misinformed, you're a hypocrite too. You're next 4 sentence rebuttal? Can't. Wait.
Starting gameday threads is a cruel mistress *****, Pads...Thank God I got off that crazy train before this epic home loss (Sorry, Ricky).
Oh I know, up until 2011 I started every one of them for the most part. Had a cold streak and Sethdaddy fired me...
You fired me first! I was 2-1 in 10' and you ****-canned me !!! Hey, its a tough gig. Gotta have thick skin.
None of the games this season are huge, its a rebuilding season. Back in August we were the "worst team ever" in some people's eyes, then we win a few games and those same people are drawing up playoff scenarios, and two weeks later the sky is falling again. Irrational exuberance followed by irrational pessimism. It's naive, but I can respect the passion. And of course we have the posters who disappear completely when the team is doing well and then show up once the losing begins. **** them with a rusty screwdriver.
It is, keep in mind this is our most winnable game for awhile, and if we pull it off w/o the excuses about being a short week means a lot to the team's culture imo
LOL who cares? Buffalo is going nowhere this season and neither are we. All of these are preseason games for 2013 IMO. Let's find out who can play, who cant, who needs to be re-signed, who doesn't. Develop the young guys, install the rest of the offense, etc, etc.
I do, all fans should imho, the draft is what it is, a crap shoot. I suspect they already know who they will keep anyway.
I'm not concerned or excited about sneaking into the playoffs and getting blown out. I'm more worried about next season, if Ireland makes some decent acquisitions we have good chance of fielding a playoff caliber team, not a team that squeaks in because the other teams are even worse than we are.
the most important thing is to see how Tannehill bounces back and performs. He had a crappy day. It won't be the last either. All QB's have clunkers along the way. And with the offensive line playing horrible lately and either the line and or RB's not being able to create holes to run through, these things will happen. The secondary seems to like to watch passes rather than defending them and the WR's are average at best. They have 4 wins. I figured no more than 6 for the season. Would I have liked to seen 6 wins by now and Tannehill looking like a ROY candidate, sure. But let's all be realistic here. This year is about seeing how good Tannehill is. I agree though, it;s going to SUCK to have to use more picks on the oline in the draft when the WR and Secondary need MASSIVE help. Am I thrilled? No. But the will rise tomorrow.
Foul weather fans? BTW - the first part of your post should be scrolled at the top of every dolphin forum on the planet...
