Very true. It does get tiresome. That's the fun of being a fan though, the ups and downs. Our up is coming.
The problem with some of you in this thread is that you're inappropriately lumping in anti-Ireland people such as myself in with the "pessimists" and anti-Tannehill folks. As I said before I never made strong predictions one way or the other when it came to record. Closest I came was this thread - http://www.thephins.com/forums/show...cussion-Another-big-turnaround-coming-in-2012 Which is a far cry from pessimism. And my thoughts on Tannehill speak for themselves. How about this thread, which some of you panned me for - http://www.thephins.com/forums/show...ince-Marino-Shula-Big-Hint-it-invovles-the-QB Pay particular attention to my last post in that thread...
No. The problem is yours and yours alone. You blast people for saying things then argue that fans can say what they want. It is hypocritical and calls into question your stance on all of this.
I will have some crow. I thought we would win 4 games at the most. I look at us as a 8 win team who has a bright future. I thought the defense was overrated and would be garbage. Coyle has done a great job and has turned some players who I thought were rubbish into legit starters. I will not eat crow on Tannehill. I liked the pick from the start. I am not jumping for joy yet. Talk to me in 3 years. In the end we are a .500 team with a lot of areas to impr....**** that. We should be 5-1 and the talk of the damn league. **** you Dan Carpenter. Lets push for a ****ing playoff spot!!!
Not quite. I said fans should stop the 5-1 nonsense. Then I took umbrage with Dupree's captain obvious "I don't play or work for the team". Fans can say what ever they want. I never suggested otherwise. I can debate fan's viewpoints which is what we do on this board in case you forgot. Don't act like you don't spend a ridiculous amount of time and posts doing exactly that.
Props. We are kinda where i expected us to be after six games and a soft schedule. At least from a record standpoint. The harder part of the schedule is on the back end. I think certain players are beyond where i expected them to be with Tannehill at the front. Guys like Misi and Jones are encouraging. Next game against Jets is massive if anyone is thinking playoffs
I didn't take a shot. You think a lot, yet you didn't get close to what I was talking about. It is like you are inventing an argument and then replying.
You don't. Nothing you say will effect the team, so say anything you want. So there is nothing wrong with saying that the team should be 5-1. There is a good argument that the team should be five and one. Doesn't hurt the fans is saying the team is two plays from being 5-1. There is no reason fans should stop saying it. I have no idea where you came to the conclusion that you did from my post.
To be fair, if ur gonna say we shoulda beat ny and az then we shoulda lost to St. Louis. They dominated the game for most of the day n I'm guessing they feel like the shoulda won. But who cares, 3-3 is fine with me, 4-2 woulda been even better. Once we get some wrs we won't be losing to teams like ax, my, stl anyway.
friend PS1: 1) takes a big man to publically admit when he is wrong. 2) & an intelligent one to perceive & embrace the situation I get it!
I do agree. You could make an argument that Miami could be 1-5. Miami only beat one team by more than a touchdown.
If we don't beat the Bills 6-10 is probably a lot more likely. We have two games coming against the Pats and then games against the 49ers and Seahawks. It's hard to like our chances in any of those.
I knew when this thread came out eventually we were going to see an eating crow about the eating crow thread. And so it's come.
End of season evaluation , it is easy to shine for a couple of weeks stretch , not so much for a full one.
Never know, first of all we have to see how Tannehill bounces back and if the D can play with more intensity.
D22, teams have good stretches and bad stretches. Key will be whether this is a prolonged slump or just a small downturn, we found out Thursday.
I agree that teams have good stretches and bad ones , that is why at the start of the season ( in the Ireland debates ) I said he had this year to have his players show their value or lack there of. In one stretch there was improved play , that doesn't equate to a majority or a whole season . Still unsettled as far as I am concerned , a lot of back sliding for some of the risers , consistently being inconsistent doesn't work for me and if that doesn't significantly improve no more free passes , no more hoping for improvement . Production and results need to matter and be the base for building with and on players.
This is my issue as well, guys like Smith and Misi should be doing far better, consistently, then they have been doing at this point in their careers. I'd personally like to see Koa get more run at DE and Odrick kick inside with Vernon filling in at SLB
It sends a poor message to "try players out" when we're still in the playoff hunt (not saying we have a good shot either).
I agree 100%, merely pointing out that by gm #9 of yr #3 and #4 for those two and they look very much like the same players they were in yrs 1/2/3. Would just like to see Misi play a bit more De in passrushing situations.
Except they don't look anything like they did in years 1 and 2. If you've failed to notice, then that is on you.
Why thank you for clearing that up for me, in the future I shall not bother to watch the games and solely rely upon your evaluations.
So you do watch the games? Your posts had me thinking you were a radio only guy b/c you're posting criticism's on a guy's play when you don't seem to know what position he plays (WLB), and on another guy who even a casual observer would notice has improved in one big area (tackling), as well now being tasked with facing the opposing team's #1 WR all over the field. If you want to rely on someone's evaluations I would suggest Kevin Coyle. He's the one who moved Misi to WLB, and he's the one deciding to have Sean Smith line up across from AJ Green/Larry Fitzgerald/Reggie Wayne etc snap after snap after snap...
and I found it hard to sleep last night. That was so disappointing yesterday on so many levels. After 46 years I really starting to question why I stay a fan of the Dolphins. They just don't seem as though they can get anything right.
LMAO. That should tell you more about PFF than anything. This is pretty basic stuff, far less complicated than say, grading a player or calling him out for lack of development. Hard to take a critique seriously when it's done by someone who can't tell strong from weak.
