Im pretty surprised that they are sticking pretty close to the comics storylines so far this season, with Woodbury, The Governor, Michonne, and Rick's phonecall.

    Pretty cool episode last night.
Like a lot of people, I figured that Carol wasn't dead. The whole afterlife phone conversation was a trip.
With all the stuff that happened in the last ten minutes, it looks to be really good next week.

kinda what I expected the phone call to be. That was a nice angle though. I replayed Hershel's scene with Rick a few times. Nice acting by Hershel. "You want me to stay with you?" Next week's show can't come quick enough. Do any of you watch the Talking Dead? Do they reveal stuff about future episodes on there? I'd like to watch it but don't want to be spoiled.

I watch it, and the host and two guests usually answer fan questions, analyze what happened on that night's episode, and what might happen later. They don't reveal anything except a 30 second clip of the next episode. The host is so jacked I think he does a few lines before the show or something. Usually the guests are celebrity fans of the show and/or people that have worked on the show, onscreen or off.

I really can't stand TV Andrea either. It sucks because in the comics she's a pretty kick *** character except when she is banging ol man Dale.

There is always hope. Carl isn't an annoying little ***** anymore (which follows the comics) so maybe she'll turn the corner... because you know, the Walking Dead: 30 second introduction, 5 minutes of plot, 35 minutes of character development, 5 minutes of plot, 30 second end credits.

To me it isnt her character, it's the acting. The chick makes the most god awfully forced faces, and reactions....the way she moves her head when she talks etc. I can't stand her at all. Horrible actress imo.

I agree her faces and reactions have been horrible in this show. But I liked her as an actress in The Shield and in The Mist.

I couldn't stand Andrea after the 1st season and slightly into the 2nd. The she suddenly became likable when she didn't want to kill herself anymore.

Tonight's episode was pretty good. The Governor is proving to be a bigger bastard with each episode. Too bad next week is the mid-season finale, which means they'll leave a major 'holy ****!' to think about for the next few months.

The scene where they find the crazy dude alone in a boarded up cabin is by far the dumbest thing they have written into this show. Like a person could have lived alone this long into the ZA in a cabin without stumbling into a walker or even know what is going on in the world. How could he have not starved to death?

    Good news is that
there will be a major comic book character joining the show in the next episode.

I think that scene was to show how his mind had snapped. He probably couldn't handle the zombie thing not to mention being isolated, and as a result he began creating his own reality.

    As for the spoiler:

    Do you mean Tyrese

so I watched the talking dead last night and they showed a cool clip re next week's episode:

Mashone finds the Governor's daughter (wearing a hood over her head and dressed in her sunday best) in his closet and she stumbles towards Mashone... Mashone thinks she's just a nice girl who has been locked in the closet by these freaks... she goes to lift the hood and that's where the clip ends... man I hope that's not the cliff hanger next week too... You know Mashone won't hesitate to lop that head off

The Daryl and Merle thing at the end... at first I'm thinking the Gov is doing this to get Merle inside Rick's team as a spy/insider like they talked about. But I'm not so sure as that scene played out.

I think Rick will come back to save the day... Merle gives his life to save his brother... and then they return to the prison to prepare for what's coming next.

Left us hanging as expected. It'll be interesting to see how things work out with Merle & Daryl because Daryl has changed so much since he lost his brother. Well, here go with the 2 month wait to find out.

I hope they stick true to Tyrees's character from the comic and has him become ricks right hand man. Because I like the actor portraying him.

Also, I know Andrea is a badass in the comic, but god damn the actress playing her makes my skin crawl. The faces she makes. Her movements ugh! I wish she'd die off. But I know she won't.

I like Andrea :tongue2:... and I'm glad we are only seeing a faceless version of Rick's dead wife... I love the show... but it's not perfect. Like the asian dude going off on Rick and his gf in the middle of the road with walkers all around. You expect certain people to react a certain way and when they do stupid stuff it irks me.

Haven't we already seen the "Rick is going crazy" portion of this show?

I presumed that his bout of madness was brought on when he couldn't get the baby to stop crying, which in turn made him question the paternity anew, but it was silly.

Michonne, open your mouth for god sakes. Perhaps they'll like you better if you tell them what you know.

The "Rick goes crazy" stuff is being overplayed.

Does seem like only the hardiest of the survivors are still there, except for the inmate putz.

Liked Glen dealing with that one walker

Rick's going crazy is only interesting to me as it relates to the contrast with the governor.

The Governor might be "crazy", but he is always in control, rarely gets emotional and has a long term strategy both to re-start civilization and make sure he is in charge of that effort.

Rick is "sane" in that he isn't neddlessly violent, he doesn;t encourage his friends to fight each other to the death, he doesn;t keep heads in fish tanks, etc., but Rick is overly emotional, often acts irrationally, and seemingly has no strategy other than "survive today".

A fusion of Rick's humanity with the governor's more natural leadership qualities would actually make the best kind of elader going forward. That's what makes them compelling.

All that being said, Rick talking to ghosts is dumb and there are less obvious cliche ways to show his mental breakdown.

Eh, I think the "Governor" is not as in control as one would think, suspect that comes back to haunt him.

For example, pulling ALL of the guards from the walls to go "stadium".

Maybe he wanted the assault to happen.

A leader in war time can cement his power far more easily and with less resistance.

The whole Rick going crazy thing is just a one or two episode thing. It's something he has to deal with for a bit. He's mad not for the reason you said but for a bunch of stuff. The stress of the world, the stress of leading the whole group, the deaths of his friends on his conscience, killing his best friend, and the loss of his wife and the way he treated her at the end.
