So losing the past 2 weeks is a valid excuse to litter the forum with one line soap-boxy threads?

We have a soft, heartless team right now, and there is nothing to celebrate and no bright side of that. We can finish 4-12, I'd still be shocked if Ross would pull the trigger on Ireland.

7 offensive points on the worst defense in the league is embarrassing. Just because the final score wasn't a route, doesn't mean we weren't embarrassed. This is a team we swept last year, and dominated them twice. We have regressed substantially from last year, and that is unacceptable.

 

Yup, he gauranteed it. I of course knew better and have a sig bet with him. He should just and give up now, this team might win one more game. Im sure he'll gaurantee it again next year too. Some guys just never learn

I agree I think Ross gives him one more year, and if there is not a vast improvement then Ireland & Philbin go together and Ross cleans house. I imagine he then also puts the team up for sale too. I think he'd be so disgusted by that time he'd give up

Philbin isn't getting fired after two seasons... Especially if Ireland gets fired for lack of talent acquisition. Philbin is Ross's guy.

That said, wouldn't mind Ross selling the team...

 

and why do we have to rebuild WITH Ireland, when he is the cause of the rebuild ? Why should he get a 2nd chance ? Did Speilman get one ?

 

He's not getting a 2nd chance. He's currently in the middle of his first chance.

 

And why ? Because our owner is clueless. I agree he shouldn't be given the chance but I think he will, and it means there will be a complete mess of a roster and at least 4-5 more years of misery to see if the next guy can straighten it out.

 

Most likely and the unfortunate thing is they have geared up for this off-season with picks and ap space, and I completely expect him to screw it up, and sign us to some spectacularly bad FA signings and horrendous draft picks that will completely screw up Philbin and then he gets sh!tcanned with Ireland, and we'll be back to square one.....like I said misery until the end of this decade most likely.

 

I guarantee many people passed on that game last night. I would make a bet its the lowest rated or one of the top 5 lowest rated Thursday night games at the end of the year.

Would it be poetic justice though for Ross to get on a plane and go try to get Polian while Ireland is still on the job ? Sparano doesn't have much to laugh and smile about these days but I think that would get him a grin or two.

I hope you're right, and I still have hope Philbin is the right guy and just needs his own personnel man here....that is why Ireland needed to go last year. But Ross is so lost.....

It's crazy people still want Ireland as gm next year with how much cap space and draft picks were going to have its going to be a completely different team. This would mean we would then be stuck with him for 3 more years most likely while his new crop of players gets time to pan out. I hope Ross cuts his losses now and goes with a new look at gm or we could really be in for more misery.

I have never changed my stance on Jeff Ireland and likely never will. Leave him in charge of this upcoming offseason and Miami's doom will be complete. I don't know how much longer I have it in me to watch this mess of a team on the field as long as this guy is in charge of football operations. I'll always be a Dolphins fan, but my patience is at an end and I'm reaching the boiling point. Someone wake me up when the last of the Parcells regime is flushed down the toilet.

 

In that case, I guess ive been crawling out of the woodworks for quite some time now. I was here before the season started saying we were gonna stink. You and a handful of others were saying I was wrong well, it looks like you were wrong, again. This team is horrible and its not gonna change till someone who knows how to build a good team is hired to replace Ireland,who apparently is related to you somehow. At least thats what it seems like with the way you defend him.

 

It's not that much consolation to be honest. I don't think a team does a sudden 180 because of a new GM.

But yeah, Jeff Ireland will be fired at the end of the year. I know it still looks iffy to some people, but you have to have some foresight here. You know how bad things are right now, with the Dolphins having lost these last three in a row? Just imagine what it's going to be like after they run the gauntlet of the rest of the season, playing the Seahawks, Patriots, 49ers and Patriots again. That ****'s going to be ROUGH. I have been saying this for a long time, the way this season is going to play out is not going to be pleasant. I always foresaw a fast start followed by a limp-dick finish...and that's what is happening. My preseason prediction was 5-11 and I changed it to 6-10 because the Bengals win wasn't a part of any of my models. I may be regretting the upgrade, to be honest. I'd be pleasantly surprised if the Dolphins won more than 1 game the rest of the year.

My concern is whether the pessimism and call for change will remain focused on Jeff Ireland, as it has been for the past year or two. The infection could spread to Joe Philbin and his staff, or even Ryan Tannehill.
