People I wouldn't mind seeing replace Ireland:

    -Ozzie Newsome
    -Ted Thompson
    -Jerry Reese
    -Rick Smith
    -Thomas Dmitroff

Beyond that, not enough information to be doing anything other than throwing darts based on anecdotes.

So you think Jeff Ireland is the 6th best current or former GM in the NFL?

Here's a nice little puff piece on Marc Ross. As I said he's a Princeton guy, has some records as a wide receiver there.

    http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/giants/ross_loss_gain_for_big_blue_JGkMgk57VrU6C2XvtKBSoO

Should be noted that there are whispers that he and Andy Reid butted heads pretty significantly and this may have resulted in his dismissal from the Eagles.

I've heard it mentioned that people in Philly hate Howie Roseman. That's interesting to me. I have a lot of respect for the talent on that roster. It's not coming together obviously but they're pretty stacked nonetheless.

Then in theory, that list should be longer.....

I tried to type my list of preferred replacements but I got message saying my post was too long.

I've written a bit about Nick Caserio over the years.

Not sure if he's been mentioned or not, but Ryan Pace is an interesting choice for me. I know the Saints haven't been particularly great on defense the last few years, but he's a guy who I think will merit consideration for future GM jobs.

Why would Reese leave the Giants, Newsome leave the Ravens, and Dmitroff leave Atlanta to come to Miami? Seems like a regressing doesn't it?

The only one I could see is Reese because he estentially has "completed the mission" so to speak in bringing a ring to NY (multiple).

Why? There are plenty of executives in the NFL that I have almost no information on. Its nearly impossible to asses most of these guys.

I don't think any of them would leave their current teams. Wouldn't make sense.

I still say the guy from your sig is my choice. If I understand correctly, he would draft great players, kill it in free agency, correctly prioritize skill positions, would not call fans *******s, would not ask players if their moms were whores, and not be a soulless ginger ****.

While I don't think anyone wants the Dolphins to lose, I do think some people would be happier to be correct in their negative assessment of Ireland than to see him succeed.

I doubt anyone feels that way.
At the end of the day, we all want the same thing, the Dolphins to win and be relevant again.
There is just alot of disagreement on how to get there.

I'm never upset to be wrong when it benefits the Dolphins.

Isn't he the one who passed on Matt Ryan and took Pat White in the 2nd?

Some folks do feel that way. I didn't think there were either but I've met some guys that would rather rip the band-aid off clean, so to speak...same kind of mentality as with the Suck For Luck thing.

Personally, I'm happier when the Dolphins are winning. Although when it came to Andrew Luck I would have been happier seeing the Dolphins lose enough to get him but that's just because I felt he was THAT special, and we all knew that 2011 season was going nowhere.

I'm sure I won't be upset either if I ever am wrong about the Dolphins, and they benefit. That may happen some day. :shifty:
