Just curious how we missed on this guy.He was released by rams do to injuries and he signs with the chargers and is now thier number #1 wr.He is better than anything we have on this team at the momement by far.His stats thru 5 games and only started the last 2 games.20 recs,365 yds,3 tds 18.4 ave.He is 6-5 and 217 almost a vincent jackson clone. Ireland is always churning the roster by removing garbage then signing more garbage and he misses this guy.
I was banging the drum for him as loud as I could... but I don't work within earshot of Ireland. Besides, word was that his knees werte finished. But who cares, he has impressive measurables and physicality.
Still... could contribute... and if his knees go again, you release him. I suppose he costs you a roster space, but then again, so did Armstrong and Gaffney.
The word always was that he was by far better than Maclin on that Mizzou team, he just couldn't stay healthy, which followed him to the league.
DX has and has had major knee problems his entier college and pro career. Watch him now because I will tell you this, his knees will NEVER hold up in the NFL. SD is lucky he makes it thru the rest of the season. Was good at Mizzou but also had major knee problems while there. I am told its of the degenerative type of disease.
Maybe we will get our premier wide receiver in this coming draft. But you wont mind if I don't hold my breath will you?
I was watching the chargers ravens game and they said he worked out for bills and he was shocked when they did not sign him.
They said the same thing about drew brees shoulder how did that turnout?Daunte who?If you never take chances you will never win the lottery.
I think the guys above outlined it fairly well. He's an injury waiting to happen (well, he did injure his leg in their last game). He's completed a season once since he was a Freshman... and it was only to mess his knee up during the week of the senior bowl. I'd rather they get some reliable talent that has a real chance to flourish on the team for more than 4 games. That said, I love picking this guy up in Madden. EDIT: I'm also not sure why the consensus should change now. Everyone knew he was talented. It's the knees. Does catching 20 passes change the injury concerns? Does an NFL team let out a sigh of relief after their injury prone player passes the 3 touchdown milestone? Is the coast clear now? "Phew, glad we avoided that one!"
Good kid, read up on him. Talent was never the issue, it was his knee. Can't blame anyone who didnt sign him, although I'm sure 31 teams are wishing they did.
