Personally, I like this, imo Rex Ryan showed the way to deal with them, don't kiss their ring, go out and compete. Not saying we win, we are 9 pt dogs, but still, if you want to be the man lead from the front don't skulk in the shadows and "hope we do well". If THill pulls out the win, then great, the legend begins, if we lose then so what?
Thing is as a leader you tell the truth always.....they arent "just another team" they are a godamn ruthless *** kicking machine.... He should have said something to the affect of "They are the best team in our Division and to beat them we are going to need 150% for everybody in that locker room, and thats what I expect from everybody. Nothing less." Just another team is like psst who cares about them.....bottom line is you have to respect them as players...fans can be like whatever....
They ARE just any team. They play football. They wear the same equipment. They have a below average defense. Tom Brady is getting older.
Every team in theory should respect the other team, which means he was merely saying what is supposed to be the pro pov. Alternatively, he can be timid, say nothing at all..which is the ***** Dolphin way as of late
Well from Tannehill's perspective, he's right. That defense he'll face Sunday is nothing special. But for Miami's secondary...It's gonna get ugly. And when Tannehill has to play keep up, it could get ugly for him too.
Just to point out, This is what a leader does, in today's world the strong quiet type rallies no one to them.
I don't think anything would make me happier than seeing Tannehill come out hot, with Reggie and Daniel Thomas establishing the run early so that he's not having to face the same type of 3-4 man rushes that he struggles against. It was nice to see glimpses of that athleticism, too. I'd like to see more of it, when there's nothing going on down the field. As long as he's smart and avoids big hits by sliding/moving out of bounds when prudent, he needs to start making defenses respect him as a dual threat. Forcing a spy should help our O-line, and free up the receivers down the seam.
I hope he did not. I do not expect us to win, what I do want to see is a very emotionally engaged Dolphins squad that fights tooth and nail. When Vollmer can tackle Cam Wake, we've got problems, however this is not some juggernaut, go out, kick some ***, don't be scared and perform.
No problem with this... Give them their due but don't kiss their ***. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
Well, to me this is what you WANT to see from your Qb, not shuffle and head bob like a beggar hoping for a win. Let's face it, the franchise is bottoming out, we need a spark.
Well what do you want them to say? "Well they are better than us in every facet so lets just forfeit"?
Considering Tannehilll didn't know New England and Miami were even in the same division just a couple of months ago from his perspective it may be just another team....hmm, maybe no has told him yet the Patriots are currently at the top in the Dolphins division. Can't imagine this is poster board stuff to fire up the Patriots.
This.....you tell it how it is....what you dont do is drool on yourself like Dansby did, and make yourself look like an idiot, an overpaid one at that.......honestly Miami has no business saying anything remote that can be looked at as talking sh%t.....they are a sub-500 team, with clown patrol for a front office with the worst attendance in the game....it is fine for fans like us to yack it up, but as professional sports players not so much... you pretty much handle it as a leader would, kinda like Bush..... remember showing respect for another player or team isnt weakness....
The Patriots are just another team but only with more video camera's. I am telling you Miami is gonna win this game the Patriots are primed to loose they are too cocky and arrogant and pride comes before the fall, I expect a close game but some how our defense will win this game for us.. Miami 23-Pats-22..
Wilfork is going to need to be handled, and if he takes up a double team it will free up someone else to plug a running lane. We won last Sunday in large part because we were able to run the ball on the Seahawks. If we can run on the Patriots we have a shot.
I'm good with what he said. All I want is the boys to compete, ALL of them, for the full 60. I don't want to see a mess out there like the Ten and Buf games. It could get fugly, real fast.
wouldn't surprise me if we are up at halftime. then who adjusts better at halftime, Philbin or Belicheck? my gut says they pull away and we lose by 10
The Patriots are just another team. They aren't even serious Superbowl contenders and I doubt they even make the AFC championship game. Their defense is god awful and their WR's aren't very good either (minus Welker) they are banged up at TE as well. No reason we can't beat them if we play a solid game.
Hey, I believe the Seahawks already beat the Pats this year and we just beat the Seahawks. Parity is rampant throughout the NFL. Anything can happen. Don't know if I would bet on it, but it's possible.
One thing for sure. The defense is going to have to be as fast and as sharp, and more so, than they played against Seattle. I don't see a huge threat on Special Teams in the likes of Washington on the Patriots so hopefully we don't give anything up by our Special Teams unit this week.
It will be interesting to see whether or not the 4-3 will have any affect on Brady. He hasn't seen it since the Zach and JT days. Maybe it gives him flashbacks... Tannehill doesn't play defense, nobody gives a sheit.
Tannehill is just pissed that Bill didn't heap massive praise on him like he normally does on key players before games to jinx them. Butters them up before they get their asses demolished. Looks for Tanny to throw for 400+ yards
I think as a player you are supposed to approach every game the same... same preparation, same focus, same intensity when you are playing the Jaguars or you are playing the Patriots... I like that mindstate by Tannehill, who cares what they have done in the past, they are another football team and we have to go out there and beat them one play at a time, just like any other team.
I don't think that what Tanny said is 'disrespecting'. They are just another team. While they are division opponents and there's always something special about those games, the pasties have shown that they can be beaten. That's not to say that I think we will go out there and blow them away, but players on a team can't be 'awed' by another team and expect to even compete with them. I like that he looks at them as 'the next opponent'. That's as it should be...
Tom Brady said , "Miami has the best core of LB's in the game"..... Sounds pretty much like a judge, diplomat, and a politician all rolled in one, mixed with a heavy dose of bullsh$tter..... See the difference?
