Tannahill said nothing wrong IMO, he shouldnt get overly nervous or anything facing ANY team.. Now what the other Phin player said was just stupid, not offensive but STUPID..

Sounds to me more like he was misquoted, or it was taken out of context. Not surprised, happens all the time. Besides, I'm sure he meant no disrespect. I also don't see it as motivation for the Patsies.

I will add, if he truly believes that they are "just another team", then bully for him. The just means he's not intimidated by the Patriot mystique, and he will approach the game the same as any other. That's what you want from your starting QB IMHO.

this is exactly what I want to hear from Tanny, no matter how wrong he may be, he is the leader of our offense, and I can't imagine wanting him to say anything else. He is instilling confidence in his team mates, now lets hope our D can keep Tanny from having to play from way behind.

Every team is just another team. The best way to play against the Patriots mystique is to call bullsh|t on the Patriots mystique.

    Although he was clearly misquoted.

    ****acular Sports Media Example #419
Local writer purposely reinterprets a prominent athlete's quote to create buzz for himself. National news source smells story, and goes with it because they lazily figure the local guy was right. Story is passed around to other national outlets. It becomes a big story, and now the misquoted athlete is going to have answer for the misquote at some point before or after the game, win or lose.

We are being manipulated, just like we were with Harbaugh, Fisher, McCoy, Manning, Flynn, Smith, etc. Don't fall for it.

Part of the problem in this culture...the hometown media...

Everything needs to be scrapped and rebuilt.

I want a quarterback with attitude. Someone who believes he. And his team are going to kick ***. Whether or not he or the team can deliver in this point in his career and in this particular incarnation is irrelevant. The attitude has to be there and has to be communicated to the whole team.

OK, you're right there. Brady and the Pats in general tend to over do it when praising their opponents, but it's not total BS what he said.

I think the 49ers have the best LB unit. But outside of them I'd say Dansby and Burnett are as good of a pair as anyone left. Misi is just average but as a two down LB he is serviceable, though I expect NE to be targeting him anytime he's on the field. Dansby and Burnett will have to bring their big boy cleats this week (they usually do ) b/c the Pats offense revolves around attacking the opponents LBs.

They use a million TEs to attack through the air, most teams don't have LBs who can match up so they go nickel and then NE bulldozes them on the ground. Lucky for us Gronkowski will be out which will help limit the matchup problems we face. Jimmy Wilson cant handle Welker so that'll be an issue all game. Sean Smith will probably have to shadow Brandon Lloyd 1 on 1 so that Clemons and Jones can help out elsewhere (Welker/Hernandez, or whoever Nolan Carrol is covering). Gotta have a heavy pass rush, gotta do it with no more than 5 guys comin.

It's going to be tough to stop them, more b/c of Brady than anything else, but I don't think the current Pats are a team that should strike fear into any team with a good defense (we have one) and an offense that can put some points on the board (Meh).

Thing about the Pats is LATELY they can score in ALL three fazes of the game, Offense (Duh), Defense (have had 3 TD in 2 weeks ) and Special Teams (3 Td's (i think) in 2 weeks) So while your D could stop NE the other three fazes clicking RIGHT NOW.. for example look at the Colts game. A 14-7 Colts lead QUICKLY turned into a 21-14 Pats lead and the Pats O never went on the field.

DISGUISE the CRAP out of our coverages (i.e. put everyone at the LOS) so Brady has no idea what is coming. Do WHATEVER it takes to get the run game going. Run Reggie, Dan, Lamar and JTrain. Win the LOS. Don't turn the ball over.

    I agree with this.
But, in the end, we lose something like 41-24.

All very impressive. Luckily the game will start at 0-0 so none of the Rams-Jets-Colts mistakes will count against us. If we do what those teams did then yeah we'll get our asses kicked. All I'm saying is that if the Pats come with their B-/C+ game and we come with our A game then we've got a decent chance. A big if I know, but you guys have the division wrapped up, you're banged up, you've been killing people lately, you just played the arch rival Jets, you've got a chance to close ground with Houston at home on Monday night next week, and the 49ers in prime time after that, if you were ever gonna have a let down game it would be on the road vs the barely respectable Dolphins. Just sayin.

I think the Phins have a good shot anyways. The Pats are banged up ESPECIALLY on the o Line. If the Pats back ups can protect Brady I see the Pats winning easily... but can they? I dont know.

Brady is a beast, I cant wait till he retires so the rest of the division has a chance. But I'm more worried about how we're going to move the ball on offense than anything else.

I'm more worried about how we'll prevent the Pats from marching up and down the field on our secondary.

No one has marched up and down the field on us all year. Gronkowski and Edelman are out, their OL is banged up, I'm guessing we can hold them to 24 or so. Problem is, where do we come up with 25+ points?

According to you, a leader tell the true always, then Brady is not a leader since he lying about or LB's.

I'd laugh if they lined up and marched like an army platoon. Love that verb.

I wonder if Dan Marino ever wishes he could face Brady in a game. What a game that would have been.

    Is Edelman out for sure?
Our defense is giving up a little over 260 yds a game through the air. And that's against much worse offenses than new England's.
I think the Pats put 30 up on us.
But either way, I don't think we can generate enough offense to win.

This makes zero sense bud. Rex is known for kissing their rings..... always over praising the patriots. And how can he show the way to deal with them, if he cant himself ?

They're terrible this season but it wasn't that long ago they bounced the Pats out of the postseason.

I want to interpret it as he thinks every team should have the same amount of urgency to win..If the team is getting up for certain games, and not for others, that can become a problem, which in our case, seems to be valid.

I dont see how it could be interpreted any other way.... however........

As a leader would, like Bush ? dont forget he said the Jets had the Revis injury coming to them.......

The pats have been bounced by one team or another for the past 5 or so years. 1 playoff win doesn't mean Rex has a way of dealing with them. Especially not one we should emulate, which is what i was debating.
