right which means he was either carrying it around with him, or he went and got it. The only way I can say Ok, this is a bit different is if he say shoved her and she broke her neck on something. Then ok, that is a he snapped, wasn't a complete *******. But then why not call the ambulance? His first thought was to go off and kill himself after driving to the stadium.

Not to be a contradictory ******* but your posts aren't reading as such. Which is why I said I understand what you are saying, but I think you are going about it in the wrong way.

And if you're on the 2nd or 3rd floor?
Guys calling the cops b/c of spousal/girlfriend abuse? LOL. That gets you get laughed at.
Unless you actually have a phone on you and can get in a room alone, a crazy acting woman and her nails can make it impossible to dial 911.... let alone 9.

Ok then she was carrying it. He took it off her and shot her. Unless you think she pulled it out on him and he wrestled it away from her and shot her? Then why kill yourself?

I know my intentions so I respectfully disagree with you. I'm merely using my own experience to shed some perspective on this for people who are perhaps fortunate enough to have never been in a mentally compromising situation. I've never killed or injured anyone so I have no reason to rationalize his actions (in attempt to rationalize my own).

It's 2012. How many people have traditional phones scattered around the house?

I, like many, only use a cell, which doesn't do any good if it's not on you. :p
Only thing you can do is learn from your mistake and wisely dump the person to prevent a future outbreak. Otherwise you're partially at fault for anything that ensues later. Where it gets touchy though is when you're forced into contact with the crazy girl like when you share a kid with her (which I don't thank goodness).

    1) doesn't mean there isn't a phone lying around.
    2) why wouldn't he be able to get to his.
    3) why wouldn't he be able to get to hers.
    4) why wouldn't he be able to get to his moms.
    5) if the mom is seeing the woman being physically threatening why doesn't she intervene
    6) why doesn't the mom call the cops
I can keep going if you want to play this what if game

 I'd rather let her kick my *** than get myself arrested and condemned for being "that guy who beat his gf" even if she deserved some force in self defense. lol.
Hey, people are gettin' crazier and crazier now a days. You just never know anymore. You can have a seemingly innocent, calm, non-jealous/non-controlling woman turn bats*** nuts once you're under the same roof together. All you can do is leave..... and light the house on fire after slipping her 2 of your Ambien. :shifty:

Stop it, you know mom's been on the Atkins for like 6 months now!!

This has become your classic Rorschach test.

Struggled with mental problems? Then he had worse mental issues (all linebackers are crazy btw)

Had a crazy ex? She was crazier.

Been cheated on? She was cheating with the Jets offensive line.

It says more about you than about the actual situation.

No, but the level of those mistakes is in some form controllable. Not all the way, but one bad decision doesn't usually lead to catastrophe, it the couple other ones you in many cases as an attempt to over correct the first one.

But no matter how you slice it, this is just ****ed up.

All this is just my opinion but.... I think so many people are focusing on the suicide and less on the murder....not manslaughter..not a mistake...but MURDER. Odds are going to show it was his gun and he brought it to the house. The mother of the victim called him the "on again..off again" boyfriend"..Makes me think they were having more than a few problems...especially when you involve a newborn baby.. Then speculation that he felt guilt about what he did and killed himself to punish himself. How about he did not want to spend the rest of his life in jail?. Just totally messed up all around...no winners here..at all. Btw...you play the game...have a moment of silence for the families...and play.

I think you let the players decide if they play or not. This is bigger then the game. Even if it was a big game, it's still meaningless in events like this.

I'm sure many a lives have been ruined by this very scenario rather than the person being a heartless, cold-blooded killer. I certainly wouldn't put it worse on the list than making a conscious choice to drive drunk and subsequently wipe out an entire family who didn't even provoke you. There's probably a lot of people on this forum who are fortunate enough to not be in the wrong place at the wrong time in regards to driving inebriated and committing homicide.

She is a victim because no matter what she did, she did not deserve to die. Lets say she did cheat on him, and that is 100% speculation, did she deserve to die for it? Did she deserve to leave her child parentless. And let's say you still don't think she's the victim, what about the three month old. She is now growing up with out a mother and father, and one day will find out that this all happened.

I didn't know that she was Jamaal Charles cousin. Sad deal all around. Murder-suicide is awful no matter what the circumstances are. I can't even imagine how troubled one would have to be to take the life of the mother of your child and then your own. I wonder if TBI gets brought up in connection to this incident(sorry if anyone finds this distasteful, but it has to be looked into IMO).

As much as it makes everyone very uncomfortable....I really have to agree. He took another persons life...by his own hands and actions. All the "nice guy" and " so out of character" talk does not even come close to what a horrific act he committed. People vilified Ray Lewis, right or wrong for not being forthright about what he witnessed. This is a million times worse.

What irks me the most is some of the national media making this guy out to be a martyr.

    Do not forget he is 1st and foremost a M U R D E R E R ! 2nd he's a coward because he didn't face justice and took the easy way out.

and to add a selfish person too. He caused heartache and pain to so many others, changed their lives forever, left his child parentless all without regard to any one else's feelings or how they would be affected. It was all about how he could take the coward's way out, by killing himself.

It's definitely bothersome how much he's being treated as though he's was a disgruntled suicide victim with no one else involved. IMO it's not right that he seems to be receiving more attention & sympathy than the victim and her family just b/c he plays in the NFL. That's a flaw in society in my eyes.

LOL @ some of these pompously arrogant acting posters for chastising others for not passing immediate judgment on the events as if they were there first hand to witness it. At the time all these posts were made yesterday, no one knew anything more than the fact Belcher shot/killed his gf then killed himself, yet a lot of people were quick to condemn him as a POS murderer and her as an innocent & only victim w/o knowing all the facts. For all we knew as of yesterday, she could've pulled the gun on him in a fit of range and he accidentally shot her while taking it. It simply wasn't known. For posters to resort to name calling of other posters just b/c they refused to pass immediate judgement is ridiculous and uncalled for.

Neither I nor Aqua4Ever claimed to know how the events transpired, but at the same time we weren't ruling out all the possibilities either, one of which involves the initial victim having a responsible part in how the tragic events unfolded. Nothing rationalizes murder (except the death penalty and a few rare instances that most of us would agree on), but at the same time, as a responsible adult, you have to know that any provoking or hostile action can have consequences, even if those consequences don't fit the crime. For example, if I'm choosing to be an antagonizing, annoying douche in traffic by speeding up, slowing down, and repeatedly cutting off the same driver and he pulls a gun and shoots me, did I play a part in my own death? You're damn right I did. Does the punishment of death fit the crime? Hell no. Do I deserve sympathy? Of course. Do I deserve as much sympathy as an innocent victim of a drive by shooting? Not in my eyes I wouldn't. Similarly, if a person escalates a situation into something that leads to murder-suicide, then I obviously feel that person deserves sympathy for their loss of life, but I don't feel they deserves quite as much sympathy as a completely innocent victim who was minding their own business at the time.

    We know
    1) He killed his girlfriend
    2) He shot himself
    3) He left a child without parents
    4) He most likely deeply scarred his own mother and the coaches that gave him a break.

It doesn't matter if he caught her polishing off the Packers in the bedroom he made the decision to kill her.

I don't accept the fit of rage, rarely do people lose so much of their mind that they can't understand right and wrong.

I don't accept that he had no escape. If the guy can push off a 300 pound guard he can push off what's most likely a much smaller woman.

I've been cheated on as well but at no point did I lose the ability to make a conscious decision.

A lot of things could have happened, few people know what did. Two of them are dead, one is a baby and the last one is the mother of the guy that did it so nobody is going to convince me that he's not going to get some sort of positive spin from her perspective.

I disagree with him that if a gun was not involved, they both would still be alive today. Chris Beniot never had a gun when he killed his family and them himself. He seemed to have a lot of rage, that you can say he wouldn't have killed his wife regardless.
