I may catch some crap for this comparison but Ziggler reminds me of HBK alot in the ring. He meshes so well with everyone and he's just a great worker. IMO.

To me he's a mix between Billy Gunn (look wise and some of his moves) and Curt Hennig (the way he sells).

  5. Samphin

Samphin Κακό σκυλί ψόφο δεν έχει

Hennig is probably the best comparison for Ziggler with regards to how he sells. He is probably more athletic tha HBK as well. For my money, HBK is the best all around worker ever, so needless to say, I think highly of Dolph.

Cesaro, (Claudio Castognoli) as Lucky pointed out, is another great talent. Since HHH has take over, he has made it a point to sign talented, indy stars and mold the to the WWE format. Much different than signing guys who look the part and molding them into wrestlers. Much easier too.

If Kassius Ohno can get his body into some sort of shape, he will be the next one to come up too. And keep your eye out for the Rotunda brothers. Bray Wyatt (Husky Harris) has an amazing gimmick right now, and his brother Bo Dallas has the look of a star. It's funny to me that for everything HHH has done in the ring, his legacy may rest on what he is doing behind the scenes with new talent, re shaping the tag division and righting the ship after years of veering off course. Even the WWE is admitting that they are in a transition mode for new stars. Guys like Dolph, Cesaro, Ambrose, Rollins, Bryan, Sheamus, Ryback, Rhodes Scholars and a few others have a huge opportunity right now.

Yeah you have to give Triple H big props for changing the old WWE scouting and developing style and focusing in on bringing actual talented guys in instead of just going to the locate gym and picking out the guys with the best/biggest bodies. I think the WWE will be better off once Vince finally steps down and Triple H has full power (or more power).

I really hope this WM is geared more toward the future of the company instead of bringing back the past stars and have them wrestle each other i.e. Rock/Cena or Triple H/Brock. I'd much rather see an older star vs. a new comer, even if the older star utlimately ends up winning the match as long as the new comer is made to look good during the match and looks like he's in the same league as the older star the win/loss won't matter. Perception is key here. The Shield haven't wrestled a single match yet but they are made out to look/act like big time players so the fans are responding to them positively and they're getting heat. Just like how Ryback "lost" his last 2 PPV matches and will most likely lose to Punk at TLC yet as long as he's made to look good and look like Punk's equal that's how/why he still has the fan's support.

Now if only Triple H can do something about the women's division. The women's division has potential (and it also helps that NXT's female trainer is Sara Del Ray), but... come on.

Also... someone needs to kill Tamina's costume designer.

  8. Samphin

Samphin Κακό σκυλί ψόφο δεν έχει

I've known Sara for 13 years or so now (we started in the same class in this industry). This gig is perfect for her. However, reports are that HHH just doesn't like women's wrestling. I get the feeling that that division will continue to be de-emphasized as HHH runs more and more.

But I can live with hat trade off if it means solid at wrestling, continued emphasis on actual talent and story lines hat make more sense.

Not to be sexist but I've never been a big fan or cared much for the women's division even when they had women that could really work like Trish, Victoria, Lita etc. I'd much rather the WWE give their TV or PPV time to longer matches.

The Shield powerbomb on Orton looked Lame last night, Talk about taking it easy on the guy. The move probaly looks better when they put someone threw a table. Now They need to make the Shield attack both sides to keep them neutral which will make it more interesting but we know that won't be happening.

WWE is reporting that CM Punk had emergency knee surgery today, no word on how serious it is or how long he'll be out. Hopefully it's not too long so they don't strip him of his title or we can't get to see Punk/Rock at the Rumble.

Yeah that sucks if Punk can't go at Royal Rumble against the rock. Wonder what they are going to do with his match vs ryback in two weeks.

Well TLC isn't a big deal, they can also change it so Cena/Ziggler is the main event and have Ryback and maybe Bryan and Kane vs. The Shield as the undercard.

As for the Rumble if Punk can't go, maybe they bring Brock in to face The Rock or run Cena/Rock then and Punk/Rock at WM for the title.

The main thing is how long will Punk be out for. But there are tons of angles the WWE can do to keep the belt on Punk until the Rumble. It's if he can't wrestle until them that will be the issue.

  20. Samphin

Samphin Κακό σκυλί ψόφο δεν έχει

It would never happen, but it would cool if Punk used this to choose his replacement/interim champion and it turned out to be Brock who, predictably, deci des he doesn't want to give up the title upon Punk's return and voila, Heyman's not are becomes reality as he is stuck in the middle of his two guys at Wrestlemania.

Per WWE.com, Punk should only be out a few weeks but it's a 6 man TLC match with The Shield vs. Kane, Bryan and Ryback with pin falls and submissions counting.

Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Scarlet Johansson as Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson and Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill. Plus a bunch of random nameless guys/girls.

    Sorry couldn't help myself.

Real answer is Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Romero Reigns.

Kind of a let down to have that switched, but injuries happen and I know that 2/3's of The Shield can work. Seth Rollins will probably see the majority of the in ring action, is my guess, and Dean Ambrose will probably end p with a highlight real bump or two. The guy can flat out sell. His psychology is on par with Ziggler's bumping ability.

Either or, this comes dangerously close to my fantasy booking of WM a few pages back, with The Sield taking on the tag champs at the December PPV. Yay for me?

Heck if I know. It just seemed at the time they were formed, the WWE was in a phase where actual tag teams (ones that weren't randomly paired together like, say, Kofi Kingston and R-Truth) just wasn't in the TTC picture.

Ambrose is clearly a star already, here's hoping he backs it up in the ring on Sunday and he'll get over and pushed to the moon.

  30. Samphin

Samphin Κακό σκυλί ψόφο δεν έχει

It's not that they can't work in the ring, because they can. It's just that they don't do anything to stand out. The fact that they are twins and don't do much with that bugs the crap out of me. Do more tandem moves, switch out like the Bella's used to, or the Killer B's. in fact, I think it would be cool if they did a gimmick like the twins from Cobra (yes the G.I. Joe cartoon) where if one gets injured, the other feels it.

It sounds dumb but I would watch if Jey Uso got drop kicked and Jimmy Uso bumped on the ring apron. Audie des would eat that up. Or have one of them win a singles title and have the brother defend it from time to time so when they lose they can claim that the wrong brother was pinned. There are a ton of things they can do.

It also wouldn't hurt for the to reverse the trend of getting fat like they have been doing.

Told you! I have been watching Ambrose since before he signed with the WWE. As Jon Moxley, his promo work was genius. He can go in the ring too. Seth will be the workhorse of the three, but Moxley's psychology in the ring is up there with the very best. I am talking Jake Roberts/Ted Dibiase levels. Unfortunately, they have to lose this Sunday. At least, I would make them lose and do so by having Ambrose subtly let one of his other guys take the fall. So subtle in fat, that maybe the announcers don't even mention anything.

All of this comes to a head later on though when the inevitable implosion happens and they want to turn on Dean. They will have a bunch of reference footage tha shows Dean was still truly about himself. But my guess I the WWE will make Bryan take the pin from Reigns and go from there.

Raw last night was okay, by the way. Dolph's match with Sheamus was fun, as was Cesaro vs. Kofi.

Miz does not work as a pandering babyface. It is painful to watch. He is a natural heel...let him heel.

I think The Shield should win, they're the hottest thing going on in the WWE right now and I think whoever is behind hiring them whether it's Heyman or Punk or someone else they should come and aid them in the win. They need to come off looking like stars here. You're right though, if they do win Bryan is taking the fall.

And The Miz is just awful. I admit I started to become a fan of his when he won the WWE title but he's done nothing to add to his character since and as a face is just painful. Of course it also hurts that when he does promos you can tell it's just him memorizing lines, it would be no different if he just took index cards with him to the ring and read them.

I still just can't stand Sheamus. I don't know why but just find him so uninteresting and boring. And the Cena/AJ storyline continues to make zero sense.

I kind of like the idea that no one "hired" The Shield. It is already acknowledged that they were apart of NXT so it is understood that they were in the WWE already. A really interesting twist could be that John Lauranitis hired them and reveals himself as such saying that these men are righting the wrongs that have been perpetrated in the WWE, including his own dismissal.

Have The Shield turn on him at that point and explain that they got what use they needed out of him and he is now expendable. They will get cheered for that, but if you let them completely go over the top in the violence they bestow on him and have them attack a face shortly afterwards, it should help them get back to where they should be as heels. Personally though, I don't think any explanation is needed for them as to who hired. them.

As for Sheamus, he isn't my favorite, but he is a good pro and an extremely popular international star who does a ton of promotional work. Very much like the Big Show in that you pretty much know that you can call him in a pinch to do an interview for a local station or a national program and he isn't going to embarrass the company ever. Those types of guys are great for WWE's public and international persona. That, combined with his size and skills set will lend to him having a job for a long, long time.

And I honestly think that's how he used, in away. I could imagine him verbally putting heels in their places. Basically, a d-bag that is a d-bag to other d-bags, if that makes sense.

Didn't watch it but apparently The Shield vs. Hell No/Ryback was a Match of the Year candidate. Bryan took the pin as I suspected he would of that team lost. A few other matches were good as well. Positive reviews all around. Tomorrow should be interesting.

One thing I just don't get is why not put Ryder in that 6 man match. I mean the Brooklyn Brawler? Sure it was a nice moment for him but Ryder is still making the company money and the WWE should have known the crowd would have been hot for him, they were already chanting his name a few times tonight. I really just don't get it. I understand the "Ryder being useful" ship has past but why not throw him a bone considering he still sells a bunch of merchandise (which is incredible for being a jobber now) and getting them tons of YouTube hits from his show. I just don't get it.

But yeah nice to see Ziggler getting the big win as well as Shield.

you mean the current Kane? because his career is nothing close, and will never be, like kane. Kane also likes getting the younger guys over, Ryder is not in that situation, since hes not over. Kane had a nice career in the WWE, had some high profile matches, while Ryder has none
