I AM of the belief that all the players who are crippled due to the lack of health care and disability and stuff like that need help from the nfl regardless of how they got into this situation these guys have made sacrifices for us on sundays so I really feel that these players that cant get around and as a dolphin fan i hope guys that made sacrifices for us on sundays should be able to get some help . Cleveland Gary is a example of a guy who i feell sympthyfor . its odd how nobody ever talks about him as a runningback and there are hardly any pics of him what is your opinion of Cleveland Gary. 32 Cleveland Gary, running back Career: Coming out of the University of Miami, the Los Angeles Rams picked him in the first round of the 1989 draft. In 1990, he led the league in rushing touchdowns with 14. He was cut by the Rams in 1994, signing with the Dolphins. He saw action in two games. He returned to the Rams' training camp in 1995, but was cut. Salary in 1994: Reportedly $160,000 from the Dolphins. Now: He declared bankruptcy five weeks after leaving the game, saddled with faltering businesses, including a music recording studio and coin laundries, according to press accounts. He runs two Palm Beach County companies, Healthway Shopping Network and the Black Shopping Channel. He is described in a 2011 press release as "the epitome of a self-made millionaire," but a July 2010 Stuart News story reported that his wages were being garnished.
I don't get your point, even when you're not talking crazy. So, he's a nice success story..are you looking for feel-good coverage, because your post insinuates that we should be giving out sympathy
Former players need help? They need to quit pissing away money and trusting their friend with their finances and hire pros to invest properly, not start record labels or TV networks.
He's just breaking into his liquor cabinet a little early. You know them thar Oklahomy rednecks just love to drink their Falstaff beer, and then chase it down with that Wild Turkey liquor, before they cruise around in their 1957 GMC pickup truck, with a gun rack, and a "Goat Ropers Need Love Too" bumper sticker.
yea , yea bite me I was just wanting to chat about some thing dolphins but i gues dolphin fans dont care about the franchize ubless its that fabulous gm that we have . but i guess you guys are crying out for more uniform threads . no I brought this up because so many players cant get around and yes it is partly their fault but still some of these guys could use a break . but i i wanted to know more about Cleveland Gary and to know if anyone remembered him but you guys have a great evening anyways.
Is he on drugs or something or homeless?? Why does he need help?? " the black shopping channel" sounds like a fantastic idea actually.. Any ideas what the sell there???
find me players who can't work b/c the NFL left them physically disabled..... and then I'll feel sympathy. I don't feel sympathy for "self made millionaires" or anyone with a $160k payday, college degree, and still has their health.
This guy fell on hard times like a **** ton of Americans. Difference is he had an opportunity to make a lot more money then most. Sucks for him, but I have no more sympathy for him than some random dude down the street.
