Because he threw the first one to Bess when he shouldn't have. He could have tried to run, or bought some time to let his outlets get more open.

The pass to Moore was bad. His fault because it's 4th down with the game on the line. Thread that thing in there because that is the time to take the chance!

Those two routes are not the only ones being run. With Bess, he was staring his way the entire time. You can blame playcalling. I did that as well, but Tannehill gets no pass on those two plays by me.

Yeah I was fine with it. The game is over, no reason to play hero on a play that absolutely does not matter. Is getting a first down there worth a concussion or a helmet to the knee?

Honestly I would have just punted. It's okay to admit you lost sometimes.

I happen to agree with you. The problem is that Ireland traded away the one receiver who might have helped Tannehill the most this season, Brandon Marshall. Of course the Dolphins did get Egnew as part of the trade for Marshall. Unfortunately Egnew hasn't been on the active roster all season and Marshall only has 91 receptions and 8 TDs for the Bears so far this season.

Yet there are some individuals on this forum who actually think Ireland made a good trade with the Bears. In truth, the Bears were probably laughing at Ireland for being such a fool for making the trade.

Not with Jeff Ireland in charge. Those buffalo sized OLinemen will make him salivate.

Egnew totally frosts my behind. We needed Ireland to nail that pick, and he totally wiffed on it.

actually I think its about as low as it will go. The ones that are left are the blind homer boys who would go to watch an old yellow dog play if it was in a Dolphins uniform.

Marshall is a ticking timebomb.. especially when starting a rookie QB. It was a good decision to trade him I think. It was a bad decision however to not replace the talent you just sent packing.

I haven't seen Hartline create separation except when a defender thinks he has safety help and lets him by...which happened again today. Busted coverage. Or against extremely sub par corners like in Oakland when he went against guys who probably shouldn't be in the NFL.

I don't care if Hartline comes back but in my opinion he isn't a #1 or even a #2 receiver. He's a guy that comes in and plays a few snaps when your #1 or #2 guy needs a breather or you're running spread...possibly bunch set.

Think like an offensive coordinator. Is there something about Hartline that makes you say "I need that guy, he can really fit into my scheme. He does X very well and we can use that to create mismatches and offensive opportunities".

I honestly can't. I haven't seen him do anything that any other WR in the league can't and doesn't do for the most part. It's just my opinion. I'd trade Hartline for just about any other #2 in the league and be happy.

Get over it, most of these guys are friends, or have crossed paths at some point in their careers already. The game is over. Im sure they're not out there laughing with Gore that they lost... they're exchanging quick hello's and jokes probably. AFterall, It's only a game...

Marshall should not have been a Dolphin to begin with. There was another Wr who is playing in Baltimore that also wanted to be here. But to me they should have never traded Marshall without an instant plan to replace him with some quality

3 guys meet up or even chat on the phone.. I played pro football ( UK football) Name is Craig Davis and if I got caught smiling man I'd get toasted even if I grew up with em and there wasn't a camera in sight. Maybe a different culture agreed but defeat as a professional used to hurt so bad we had a day off to get it put of our systems prior to starting again on a Monday morning

Exactly why I don't trust this tool, buying the groceries with the stockpile of picks we have in this draft.

Exactly. You cant send talent like that away, and expect to replace it with Naanee and Chad Johnson. It's a ridiculous plan. But I expect nothing less from Ireland.

Don't agree with any of this. You don't come near 1,000 yards on the season with three games left on busted coverages. That's a BS excuse.

I can think of many thing Hartline does that other receivers can't. He's a number 2 in my mind. He creates separation, is an above average route runner, excellent at working the sidelines, can play in the middle of the field, has good hands, makes plays deep and has good hands.

I understand that. The game is over at that point though. Who cares what they're doing, or talking about, or laughing about. They are human beings. Sacrificing their bodies weekly in practice and during the game, its over, the effort wasnt good enough, they lost. What do you want them to do, cry about it like a bunch of *******? Nobody goes through that sacrifice to play football at the NFL level without being upset about loosing, but you have to realize, you dont always win. It is what it is, these guys have friends all over the league on other teams, so a friendly hello after a loss isnt allowed in your eyes? It's a lack of pride. Get over yourself, there's greater things in life than the outcome of a football game, even to the players. Im sure theyre not happy about loosing, but it is what it is, you dont win them all, you can't cry about it.

The 49ers are far better than the Dolphins. They were playing at home. They have the coach we wanted. We have a rookie quarterback, a rookie coaching staff we settled for after we were rejected again, and no speed receivers. Accept it. Next game.

He and others will say it's the QB's fault, because that fits the narrative that Ireland is a great GM and if the QB played better everything would be great.

As you stated, it was a good trade ONLY if you replaced Marshall with a WR who could provide your rookie QB with a legitimate threat against opposing defenses. Instead Ireland filled the spot with WR's like, Naanee, Armstrong, and Gaffney.

None of these receivers could even qualify to hold Marshall's jockstrap. Marshall may have been a headache in some aspects, but he was still the best WR on the Dolphins roster by a wide margin. Trading him away and having no viable replacement for him, just shows how inept Ireland is as an NFL GM.

I understand to be a good winner you have to be a gracious loser fact! You try it in your job (bet you put more than your body on the line) probably you and yours financial future for one

I never expected the Dolphins to win the game. But the fact is that Tannehill has twelve starts in the NFL, while Kaepernick was starting only his fourth game in the NFL. So the real rookie QB in the game today was Kaepernick, not Tannehill.

I just wonder how all those Fisher haters feel now. The last I looked, the Rams have a better record than the Dolphins and they beat the 49er's last week. I guess he isn't a bad coach after all.

  32. TopLoader

Fire Ireland, Tannehill shocking, no WR threads, special teams is garbage threads, long threads all negative..

I can deal with each of these as what I have seen although limited

    Ireland cares

Tannehill is the best potential at QB since Marino

    Special teams have broken records

Long is still the strongest Lt we have

I can cope with it and live with defeat as long as I can see a player being disappointed in defeat but equally as graceful in victory

The 4th down play you assume a whole lot, sorry not buying it. the tv angles didnt show you any other options. He could try to run every play doesnt mean it works. The play to Bess was obvioulsly a play called for him to go deep. As far as him running I dont remember seeing a wide open field that he should have ran.,

Neither Harbaugh nor Fisher wanted to come here. Neither did Gruden or Cowher want to come out of retirement. There is probably something fundamentally wrong with this organization that veteran coaches see but are too classy to talk about publicly. I wish I knew what it is.

I hope the reason was Ireland. Because if Ross was the reason these individuals didn't want to come to Miami. We are in for a much longer period of losing, as long as Ross remains the owner. At least if the reason was Ireland, Ross can always fire him and hire a quality GM who actually wants to come and be part of the Dolphins organization.
